Letting folks know the trip was a success. I'll have more pics added when I get home. Enjoy these two for now:

What a beautiful wall of plastic.

Agreed. Thanks for the photos, avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, and I can't wait to see the rest. Hope the con was fun as well. Did David say what was up with the green paint job on the 1/18 trike?
Check out my customs thread!

Gosh those all look wonderful. I really like that 1/18 Triceratops. Despite being all green, the pattern on the frill is beautiful. I want to note I've never seen that before, plus I never really followed the BOTM Ceratopsian line so I too was unaware of this figure being up in the air.

Glad I switched the WWD color scheme with the mass produced version, starting to really not like it (seems too dark).

suspsy

The green Triceratops is a homage to Bionatops:

Which leads one to wonder if David will go ahead and use the Tyrantisaurus rex colour scheme in the future. I had this toy when I was a kid. The launching wheel drone was really fun!

Maybe they'll both be in Cyberzoic???

avatar_suspsy @suspsy Absolutely right on that new Triceratops repaint.

Anyways I'm so sorry it's taken me forever to get these up here. Been chatting with the family a while, but anyways... here's the pics (and special thanks again to David for helping and letting me get all these in the first place. It was such a pleasure meeting him again after these two long years):

I apologize if the formatting is busted. I'm on my new laptop posting these, and spaces between images, etc don't seem to get saved after posting or previewing much of the time. Not sure why. Could be a browser thing too? On the most recent Firefox/Windows 11. I'll fix things up tomorrow on my old Win 7 classic Waterfox, which never had this issue. Edit: Formatting should be fixed now!

In any case I hope these comparisons, etc, helped, even if they might not be the best because of me trying to hold things and take pictures with one hand in landscape, lol. Also gotta say how much I love that new Triceratops alongside the Dino-Riders T. rex. I guess it's all the green, lol. Very tempting for me to get both of these though. Also I think David did say the new Triceratops would probably be ready with Wave 1 of the tyrannosaurs if I remember right? I'm sure he'll have more info on that soon.

I also remember I chatted with him about being shocked no one has really been a competitor despite his success with the lines so far, after all these years, with the closest perhaps being Mattel, despite not going for accuracy at all, but they are pretty much the only other company filling a void as far as dinosaur, etc prehistoric animal action figures go. He said it is because companies like to stick with their licenses (which I remember him explaining in interviews prior as well). And as before I am so appreciative he took the risk. I also talked with him about how Paleozoic and non dinosaur animals in particular are seldomly made by companies, because of the risk involved, because they don't sell as well as dinosaurs, and especially not a T. rex. He also brought up cool things like Longisquama, and Drepanosaurus, both of which desperately need figures, assuming they have any at all, I can't recall unfortunately. Of course Dimetrodon as well, which is the obligatory Paleozoic animal. If I remember correctly I think he mentioned that Paleozoic and other non dinosaur animals could be great additions to the Cyberzoic line and share parts with the dragons, which would be a great idea and way to get some of those more obscure animals brought to the forefront. It would also make for some pretty interesting dragons. I also regret not bringing up Sharovipteryx because I was totally thinking of it then too, but the name slipped my thoughts at the time. That's definitely another weird looking one that could use a figure of it.

It's also funny that in my excitement and fun over there, I totally forgot to ask about the Utahraptor despite how excited I am for it, but in due time I suppose, right? Couldn't hurt to reach out about it in the kickstarter comments. I wonder what color scheme it will have? I was thinking last night how awesome (and mean) it would look with a Philippine eagle coloration. Harpy eagle would be my next pick, from also being another one of the largest raptors, but like obviously it is up to him what he would want to go for with it, and no doubt I'll end up liking it, especially because it is a Utahraptor too, and it's not only been a long time coming for his stuff, after fan demand for years now. I mean he was able to pull off blue footed booby colors on the Acheroraptor, and it's one of my favorites to this day (despite the fragmentary fossil remains, and speculative nature of the figure as a result). The toy market is also in dire need of an accurate Utahraptor as well, and I'm skeptical we'll get one for 2022.

Lastly I also really appreciate the um appreciation he had from me helping out during the campaign, such as making that add-on guide, maintaining this thread (which I showed him), or like all my instagram posts. He said he can only do so much to get reach and word out for this stuff, and the add-on guide I made and shared during the kickstarter was also really helpful, because the backers end is different from the creators end. I really hope it helped a lot of folks. And all the questions I was helping folks with too when I could, on the kickstarter, here, and instagram too. But I do it because I love this stuff, and want to share it with others as much as I can. And helping folks out makes me feel good too. I'm just realizing, but man what a mood booster this trip really was, after all these rough months.

Faelrin we cannot thank you enough for all of these pictures and for helping Silva with a few things during the kickstarter. Seriously, it's great to see all these prototypes together. The comparisons are also well welcomed.
Will you be posting these to Instagram?

How cool! How cute they are, honestly they are the best articulated tyrannosaurids ever made by a toy dinosaur brand.

Honestly BoTM makes the most beautiful posable dinosaur figures in the world. Honestly, these figures are worth the price demanded by the company precisely because sculpture and painting is phenomenal. I'm not a fan of colorful figures, in this case they make colorful dinosaurs that I like a lot. Honestly if I can invest my money I will invest it in the BoTM dinosaurs.

avatar_Dinoxels @Dinoxels Yeah sometime today for sure. Maybe in a few hours.

Edit: Here's the link. Not really any new pics. A few more have been posted here in fact.

Concavenator

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin , as others have mentioned, you helping people during the Kickstarter answering questions, keeping the BotM thread up to date, and more, was greatly appreciated.

By the way avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, I'm very intrigued about this:

Did David confirm he would be releasing a BotM Utahraptor? That would be very cool. Did I miss when could it be released? Will it be part of the Raptor series or will it be one of the family-independent models he said he may tackle in the future?

Faelrin

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator He mentioned it in the interview with Paleo Nerd I think? I do recall he said sculptor Jake was working on it in the interview though. I think it was shared a few pages back in this thread? Should be in the Cyberzoic one too. If I had to guess it will likely be in the 1/18 scale. Not sure for which of the two lines yet, unless it is for both? Like I said I regret asking about it, haha.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Thank you for sharing avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin for bring this here and in general for everyinthing
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

suspsy

The green Triceratops would definitely go better with the standard T. rex than the Dino-Riders one. Pity the Eotyrannus sculpt wasn't ready to display. That's the other one I pledged for.

I don't suppose David said anything more about Cyberzoic?

avatar_suspsy @suspsy Aside from the above about the possible inclusion of things like Longisquama, Drepanosaurus, Dimetrodon, etc, and part sharing with dragons, not much I'm afraid. I really didn't think to bring it up, sorry. My mind was really just mostly focused on what I saw before me, and chatting about other stuff (which I tried to go into detail above).

Not only do we need a Longisquama figure, we need more Longisquama reconstructions in general that actually do this very interesting animal justice. It's big head and really long forelimbs are almost always downplayed to make it lizard-like, and while no back half is known, it's close relative Sharovipteryx has a rather dramatic one. The combination with Longisquama's long arms would make for a decidedly not lizard-like animal.

It's painfully disappointing that Peters, yes that Peters, is the only one to even attempt to reconstruct Longisquama based on its relatives and on its own weird proportions, while more popular artists deliberately downplay them.

Psittacoraptor

Thank you so much for the photos and the infos, avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin ! The whole line looks amazing. As someone who appreciates colourful yet naturalistic dinos, the Yutyrannus, Gorgosaurus and Dilong are still the standouts for me.

Psittacoraptor

Backerkit is up, check your emails if you pledged.

Yutyrannus is the #1 bestselling add-on so far. :)

Cant wait to see what the future holds for beast of the mesozoic, figures look great makes you want more!!

Cant wait for the 1/18 raptors will be such a great looking display, the Utah Raptor has to be the top of the list for most ppl its a dinosaur lacking of figures especially since its so badass. I do hope for the future he makes a 1/18 dilong to scale with the other figures to make it scale and get a nice evolution display in scale

Faelrin

I'm glad I have until February to decide and/or amass more funds. So many great choices, and that's just going off those finished. Can't wait to see how the rest turn out. In any case I submitted my backerkit with what was already there (same address, pledge, and add-ons from the kickstarter).

If I fill out my information and submit my BackerKit order, can I still go in to it and add more items later? Or is this going to be the finalized order?
