avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy That would have been lovely to see, even if as a future repaint, if not another animal altogether.

On that note I am curious as to what the Dryptosaurus color scheme will be based upon, since it is the other one using the large feathered body.

Dobber

I wonder if the standard (non exclusive)1/35 and the big 1/18 Rex's will have the same color scheme.

Yeah, it would've. Especially since Yutyrannus is an Asian tyrannosaur, I thought it would be fitting to take inspiration from an Asian species of eagle.

Steller's sea eagle is an Asian species. Its range includes Russia, Japan, Korea, and China.

I think the Steller's sea eagle's range even includes the same Chinese province Yutyrannus was found in, so I couldn't imagine a more fitting choice! :D

Ah I see, my mistake. Then my only gripe about using the sea eagle as reference would be that saturated yellow then.

I know that we have to wait a long to see the appearance of the ultimate tyrannosaur, the tyrant lizard king. But I am very much eager to see the prototype of Daspletosaurus and Gorgosaurus and I shall definitely buy them along with T.rex and Tarbosaurus.

Much prefer the final version over the wip one.

The dinosaur (theropod) genus I dreamt from my very childhood just after gaining an initial familiarity with these beasts, is finally coming with tremendously accurate action figures. Many many thanks to all the members of Creative Beast Studio.

God bless you all!!!

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Thanks for sharing that here. I'll go and update my initial post on the first page with it. I also agree that it is much better now that it is finished, particularly the yellowy areas.

Now the waiting begins until we get to see this eventually get sculpted, and from there, painted.

Edit: Some new info in the comments of the FB post for the concept art, seems to suggest the 1/35 is to be for larger figures, such as sauropods that will probably be down the road eventually, hence why there is a T. rex in that scale. There's also (another) confirmation that the sub-adult Triceratops should scale to 1/35 as well.

I never thought that theropods were going to be animals more like chickens than reptiles, if they told me thirty-five years ago I would not believe it, getting to the point is very nice that Beasts of the Mesozoic yutyrannus looks like a stuffed animal Theropod (I say this with all the love in the world for that brand) but apparently it was so many theropods. Every day I like Beasts of the Mesozoic.

It isn't even done yet and the detail work is looking immaculate. It amazes me how he's been able to pull off though itty bitty scales until this sculpt as well. It's going to be really interesting to see how the 1/35 T. rex turns out at this rate.

Also in case anyone was wondering about difference from the earlier pic, regarding the horns/knobs, he said this in the comments of the FB post:

Quotethis does still have rounded keratin knobs around the eyes, I had them too pointed before so I adjusted them. The adult will have them as well, yes.

Edit: Previous pic below for folks curious about comparing it:

Another edit: Saw this in the comments of the FB post for the Yutyrannus concept art. I'd honestly love to see this done, though granted I still want to see them done in 1/18th scale as well (and the Psittacosaurus and Protoceratops too, if not any others).

Quote2 inch raptors would make for great accessories for the larger species in the 1/35th scale. They would have very limited articulation, but still a cool idea.

What is most impressive is how it superdetails the scales on that tyrannosaurus rex. Not a millimeter escapes detail. He is a super attractive figure.

Agen Kolar

While Tyrannosaurs were the natural next choice for the line, particularly after Ceratopsians, for me personally they're among the least interesting. There is little variation in their look in comparison to hadrosaurs or stegosaurs. If carnivores were a must, I would've much preferred a general theropod line, where more families could've been included. I understand that would mean less sharing of parts, though. I'll pick up Tyrannosaurus to pair with my Triceratops, but as of right now I think that will be all.

HeĀ“ll take some days off. But, before this hiatus, he posted this informations:

So as of this post, I'm planning to take a little vacation from social media for the remainder of the month. I figured with the holiday weekend coming up it would be a good time to step away from the computer a bit and focus on more psychical tasks. That being said, I leave you with a photo of how the Beasts of the Mesozoic line is shaping up, with the WIP juvenile Tyrannosaurus sculpt alongside some of the larger Ceratopsians as well as a stand-in for the eventual 1/18 scale Velociraptor. This was the first time for me seeing all three series together and it's looking pretty cool!
FYI- Ceratospian Kickstarter backers can expect a new update next week, and for anyone interested in BotM product on my website, you can use code: DINOSUMMER20 for the rest of this month to get 10% off your order!
In the meantime, please continue to like, share, comment and post to the page here- I'll be on every now and then to check in, plus you can always reach me via email through my website.
Take care everyone and have a great holiday weekend!

It truly is amazing to see the culmination of several years of work on these lines being brought together, in the form of all three series, since the first one started in 2016 (if not earlier). I hope it has a prosperous many years to come, so long as David and the others also have the desire too.

It's truly great to have something like this after so long, with the very few options prior, such as the WWD Ultimate Gorgon, and the Resaurus line of figures, if not any others possibly out there.

That juvenile tyrannosaurus from Beasts of the Mesozoic is gorgeous, it's a shame these figures are so expensive on the market.

suspsy

Not that I don't trust David Silva, but I still have concerns about the big tyrannosaurs being able to stand with support. I hope I am proven wrong.

Also, I'm really dying to find out what colour scheme the T. rexes will have. If it turns out David went with my suggestion of either the South American bushmaster or the eastern diamondback rattler, I'll jump for joy.
