So for whatever reason I noticed most of the images I had added to the first post are missing now, when I went to add the Alectrosaurus concept art. No links or anything, like I had not added them at all. Did Facebook do something that caused them to be removed?

On a similar note they seem to be missing from the rest of this thread too, so that's probably the case. Guess I'll go and add all these to my imgur account so they don't get eaten up again.

Edit: All fixed up now.

Facebook doesn't want to be the image host for anything happening off of its own platform, so they routinely and I think automatically change the image URLs. An image posted here using a fb URL will eventually just be an empty frame.

Many many thanks Flaffy for the clarification! In the meantime, I too have witnessed the dewclaw orientation in tyrannosaurs and it is alright in all the sculpts and illustrations after undergoing a short study regarding this issue. No need to change the dewclaw orientation.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Thanks for the information regarding that. Looks like I will need to keep using my imgur account to host the stuff in the opening post instead.

Tarbosaurus is missing its signature dewlap. Aside from that it looks nice.

iirc there's no real evidence behind the claim. But definitely not impossible, nor implausible. Would serve to further differentiate the figure from Tyrannosaurus.

Another issue I've noticed is that the scales are too large on the Tarbosaurus. On scale impressions, scale diameter averages out to ~2mm.
However, as this is a figure, I realise it would be impossible to replicate such fine detail. But it would be nice to see the scales to be at least as small as the ones on the Bistahieversor.

Didn't David Silva post an image of the Qianzhousaurus artwork in progress awhile back? I can't seem to find it on Facebook. Does anyone recall what animal the colour scheme was based on?

avatar_suspsy @suspsy I don't recall seeing anything like that. The closest I can think of is the wip post of the Alectrosaurus:

https://www.facebook.com/BeastSculptKit/photos/a.125819777433236/3720516927963485/?type=3

In order of appearance, it was the Bistahieversor, Lythronax, Yutyrannus, and then the Alectrosaurus, and now the Gorgosaurus (wip).

Edit: I finally got around to adding the WIP concept art of the Gorgosaurus to the first post of this thread.

Will a dewlap like structure be added to the Tarbosaurus? I  think that there is still no sufficient evidence supporting this.

Halichoeres

The dewlap idea apparently comes from a letter from Konstantin Mikhailov to Kenneth Carpenter (https://incertaesedisblog.wordpress.com/2019/10/06/the-anecdotal-tarbosaurus-throat-skin/) but has never been published or confirmed by any other person. File under plausible but speculative?

I could have sworn I saw an image of Qianzhousaurus somewhere. Perhaps I dreamt it.

Very eager to see their updated Tarbosaurus figure and Gorgosaurus and Tarbosaurus artwork as well.

I can't believe he's already got 5 of the colored concept artwork done out of the 18 species now (plus the 1/18th juvenile T. rex, and the kickstarter exclusive 1/35 scale T. rex based on the WWD one). This is moving along swell.

These are my predictions for the remaining tyrannosauroids:

Dilong-painted redstart
Moros-Bali myna
Suskityrannus-golden pheasant
Eotyrannus-red kite
Proceratosaurus-Harris hawk
Dryptosaurus-osprey

As for the tyrannosaurids, I'm really hoping the inland taipan/fierce snake goes to T. rex. Strikes me as an appropriate pairing, the king of the dinosaurs and the deadliest of all snakes. The tiger snake would also be a cool match.

Personally preferred aspects of the WIP version, where the white-ish beige colours were lighter and more prominent.

What will the price range be for these figures? I am happy someone is finally doing and Alectrosaurus, Suskityrannus and a Moros intrepidus! I will be even happier if they are in my price range!

avatar_frank08 @frank08 If you want an idea of how much these figures might go for then I would suggest checking out his store on his website (for the previously released raptor series figures):

https://creative-beast.com/product-category/beasts-of-mesozoic/

or the Kickstarter/Backerkit pre-order store for the ceratopsians (that are still in production currently): https://beasts-of-the-mesozoic.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

The cheapest figure offered is the Zuniceratops at $27, and the most expensive is the adult Triceratops and Torosaurus at $130. Those are also offered a bit lower at the moment then what they will be after they go in stock/finish production. I would certainly expect the adult 1/18th Tyrannosaurus rex to go for even more then the adult Triceratops, which is why it is a good thing he is also going to be offering one in 1/35th scale (which can also be used with the sub adult Triceratops, give or take).
