Hmm, that is concerning, but part of me wonders if the angle of the pic is making it look blunter as a result? Best to ask him to be sure I guess.

Anyways I'll get the package art and sculpt sections in the op updated here while it's on my mind.

Those are character pilot figures from the latest Zoids release by Hasbro.

All the tyrannosaurs in the series look sort of plantigrade to me.  There's something off with the way the feet are done.

ITdactyl

That seems to be a point of contention here. Some people prefer the chunky foot pads (resulting in the flat foot look), others want the foot pads to be minimal.

Probably a compromise to facilitate better range of articulation, but I can assure you that none of them are plantigrade.

Concavenator

That Guanlong is looking very nice, and hooray for the feathered face - unlike what they strangely did with the Dilong.

I also like that size a lot. Hopefully the other small feathered tyrannosaurs will also be the same size.

Psittacoraptor

I'm excited for all the feathered species in this line. If they all turn out great, I might just have to get all of them. I have the Velociraptor (Lämmergeier colours) and the Zhenyuanlong (regular) from the raptor series. I love those, striking colours based on real animals, while still looking natural. But there is something really off about the Ceratopsians to my eyes. The colour applications look garish and unnatural imo. They scream "this is a toy!", if that makes sense. These Tyrannosaurids look much, much better in that regard.

I realize none of them are plantigrade but they look plantigrade because there is virtually a 90 degree angle between the toes and the metatarsals, which is most unnatural looking.  Looks like i'm going to have to modify the feet on any of these figures I end up getting.

That's just the pose, there is a joint there already so it should be possible to just not pose them like that.

dunno about that.  I hope you're right, but I dunno...

suspsy

The finished Guanlong art by Shannon Beaumont shows it devouring Yangchuanosaurus chicks.

I'd like to see one of the BotM tyrannosaurs depicted either resting in the shade or lounging in some water. Something peaceful.

The kickstarter date has been announced: 3 months from now on September 22nd. Honestly, I'm not thrilled about it. I want to support this line through the kickstarter but I was also hoping to get some of those wave 3 ceratopsians. Not sure I can do both so I'll probably end up holding off on Wave 3  :-\
