Is the Archeopteryx from a set?

It was from a tube set called "Gone Extinct!" which came with a book of the same title. It was pretty short-lived, but there were some interesting figures in there, like this Archaeopteryx and an Arthropleura.

Glad to see it's enjoying its new home!

Oh, thank you! Nice comment, nice statement by people who are equally as much into this passion as I am. ^-^ I try to keep this subject fresh and upload new pictures and/or acquisitions to share my quirky collection with other "maniacs" worldwide. Stay tuned :)

Since I want to draw out books without having to remove tons of dinosaurs, I decided to put these in a second cabinet. Now I have two cabinets (cabinet 1 for nice and valueable stuff, cabinet 2 for the nice and not so valueable figures),  four shelf compartments plus the little white shelves above the blue armchair for smaller stuff. Here you are, maybe zooming would make sense if you like it more detailed:

Cabinet1

Cabinet 2

Oh my, that looks lovely! I wish I had space for such cabinets... Too many dinosaurs to lock them all up!

RobinGoodfellow

I can fully understand your space problem.
I'm running out of space with my collection and the next month I should re-arrange it with new cabinets too...  ::)

Congrats RobinGoodfellow,  this was your 1000th post :)

Hi Libraraptor, I don't suppose you know who made the small blue mammoth at the far left of the second shelf you show? I have the figure too and think it may be from a European company, but not sure who.

It looks like a smaller version of a Marx , Miller, Timpo mammoth, but I have no ideas what the company is or if there´s even one.

Thanks for getting back, I had no luck in finding the mammoth's manufacturer too. My one has an interesting history. It was given to me by my wife's family as a gift and it had actually survived the siege of Sarajevo! It was kept in their living room throughout the war and as they live near the airport, there was particularly fierce bombardment by the Bosnian Serbs and their apartment was hit. I guess this might help date the little mammoth as it puts it at pre1990s - I think it may be a cereal premium. It's a nice little treasure in any case and a reminder of their bravery -thankfully they made it through the war too!

What an affecting story.   :( These are the background-stories (as tragic as this one was) that load figures with meanings and flavor a collector´s life.

All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me

And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend

Fantastic! Moschops is one of those taxa that used to be made left and right, but that no reputable company has touched in years and years.
