Schleich - New for 2021

Going by statistics, the 2012 getting one is more likely.

I mean, aside from standard green, it also exists in gold, red, blue ( from Volcano set ), red & blue ( which confusingly is just called blue )
The newer one only has green and gold so far.

I might be wrong, but I think the 2012 T.rex is Schleich's oldest still active Dinosaur.

And yes, that small picture on the cover shows Dilophosaurus headbutting the red Raptor ( called Blood ). Also: judging be the preview they again rip off plot elements from Jurassic Park. Tropical storm, no power, Raptor escapes...possibly a traitor, too. Oh and they only have one single weapon...

It's at least slightly better than the previous comic series. Which is not saying much as both of those are pretty bad. Schleich seems rather bent to add humans to all of their lines.  Probably also due to mold re-uses across them. ( All the vehicles are also in the Wild Life line in different paint jobs, at least the yellow shirt guy was re-used for Wild Life and Farm Life etc. ) So there is little cost involved here. Obviously someone at Schleich thought that ripping off Jurassic Park was a good idea. Blue shirt guy even looks like Alan Grant.

This list (no images) appears to confirm that there will be a black Tyrannosaurus rex later this year. Didn't see any other dinosaurs on there.

I'm more curious to see what the Eldrador ice giant and lava demon are like.

It would not have been at all difficult to pull off a black T. rex that looked genuinely cool. It could have been as easy as decorating it in varying shades of grey with black as the base colour. Or combine the black with a colour that contrasts well with it, like red or gold or even white. But no, so much easier to just colour the entire thing black, then add a couple of red drops for the eyes.

Ah well. I'm not fond of that mould anyway and I'm not a completist, thankfully.

The more recent T. rex, what I like to call the Ely Kish T. rex, is so much better than that one. I wish they would do more with that one instead.

Ely Kish-I remember first seeing her art a few years before the first Jurassic Park film came out.  Her dinos make Greg Paul's look like fat asses.

I'm more upset they didn't reuse that awesome volcano from a few years back that I never ended up getting. This one looks like junk in comparison.

Yep, the old volcano looked nicer, but obviously did not fit with what Schleich has in mind for this thing.

The more recent T. rex, what I like to call the Ely Kish T. rex, is so much better than that one. I wish they would do more with that one instead.

It's easy to see which Rex Schleich favours...Sure, the Kish one got a golden version, but only because the other one already had that.

That black tyrannosaurus rex reminds me a lot of the also special edition of Black Tyrannosaurus Favorite. That color favors that Schleich figure a lot.
