I got a big order of PNSO's coming in from Dan's soon, after which I'll only be missing 5 of the 2020 releases. I'm sure its gonna make my decision much harder.

Figure of the year is avatar_Doug Watson @Doug Watson's Deinonychus. Competition's over, close the entries, I'd like to thank everybody who lost.

Very kind of you to save us the trouble! Mods please lock this thread.

Seriously though, any last-minute nominations? I'll start the poll in a few days.

For me,these were the best 10 released in 2020

Creative Beast Studio:
Styracosaurus,Protoceratops,Psittacosaurus,Medusaceratops

Safari Ltd.:
Deinonychus,Qianzhousaurus

PNSO:
Lambeosaurus,Tuojiangosaurus,Borealopelta,Spinosaurus

Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Poll is live! Submission period was over two weeks, which I think is pretty good? People nominated 109 different figures. I think some of them won't get any votes, which I'd hoped to avoid, but what're you going to do. You can only see results after you vote. Entries are listed alphabetically by company and then by genus (or common name in a couple of cases). I included the Papo 2019 Spinosaurus because people suggested it and few people got it in 2019. I should probably have deleted it but it seems popular.

You can't nominate anything else but you can write something in if you like (option 110).

Edit: Papo Megaloceros has been added, but the poll interface is pretty unforgiving, so I can only add it to the bottom. Apologies for the error.

Dang what a year. That list sure puts things in perspective.

I made a top 10 video back on New Years Eve, but in the month since I've gotten my hands on several more figures that has almost totally reworked my list.
My vote:

10. W-Dragon Giraffatitan (I am yet to receive mine due to several delays so I didn't want to put it higher on my list. Something tells me it's at least going to be in my top 10 though!)
9. Amber Collection Dilophosaurus
8. Safari Ltd. Edmontosaurus
7. PNSO Qianzhousaurus
6. PNSO Corythosaurus
5. Nanmu Apatosaurus "Bastion"
4. PNSO Spinosaurus
3. BotM Zuniceratops
2. PNSO Tyrannosaurus rex (Winter Wilson)
1. Nanmu Tyrannosaurus rex "Alpha"

Would have to give an honorable mention to the BotM Psittacosaurus. This was a tough call!

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Well if its only 2 weeks I won't be voting for the PNSO Miragaia then, pity. There are several lovely alternatives though.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Halichoeres

avatar_Gothmog the Baryonyx @Gothmog the Baryonyx allow me to clarify. I'm saying I allowed two weeks to submit nominees. I expect to leave the poll live all of February. Typically polls go until there are 50 or so votes, although I think we can do better than that.

oh okay thanks for the clarification.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Nimravus

Votes submitted, it was very difficult to choose only 10 out of the whole set! I missed the Papo Megaloceros!

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Oh yes the Papo Megaloceras wppears to be missing, that is the only Papo I was considering voting for

Faelrin

Well I tried to be pretty broad (and fair) with only one vote per company, with the sheer number of figures that have released and appealed to me in 2020. Technically most of the ones I voted for I don't have yet, but I think they were long overdue, well executed, and/or on my wishlist.

So what I ultimately picked (in no particular order, other then how the poll is set up; ~ designate which I own, - is for what I don't own yet):

-CollectA Orthoceras (Lisowicia is probably the expected choice, but I figured the Orthoceras would be an underdog and its a genus I've been waiting years for a figure of, since I own a fossil of it, or at least I think so.)
-Creative Beast Studio BotM Styracosaurus (lots of great choices overall but I've been wanting Styracosaurus especially to go alongside my mountain diorama and Dromaeosaurus pair since the raptor kickstarter was still a thing. Helps that I love its color scheme too).
-I-Toy Paraceratherium (Probably the definitive option for this animal right now, one that's been sorely needed for a while, though I would prefer a smaller 1:30 or 1:35 to better fit with most of my mammal figures in ny collection)
~Mattel Scutosaurus (lots of Mattel's 2020 figures appealed to me but I gotta give to this one most of all for being a Permian animal, and likely a tribute to Kenner's original JP one in a way)
-PNSO Lambeosaurus (again lots of great choices but I picked the Lambeosaurus because I've been wanting an updated one, and in green, for years now, and this delivers)
~Rebor Titanoboa (another Cenozoic animal, and reptile that is long overdo on the market)
~Safari Ltd Deinonychus (easily one of the best non JP/JW dromaeosaurid toys ever made so far, and one I've waited so many years for, particularly of Deinonychus itself)
-Takara Tomy Anomalocaris (beautiful take, and I dig that it has some articulation, which other then Yowie's perhaps, is a first)
-W Dragon Giraffatitan (I see now I selected the Giganotosaurus by mistake, which don't get me wrong it is a decent take on the Dino Crisis one, but this is the first proper and accurate Giraffatitan done yet)
~Wild Past Protoceratops (a very nice take on this animal, and what's nice is that it scales with many of the 1:35 scale figures out there)

Honorable mentions:
-Mesozoo Allosaurus (good first figure by a new company)
-Papo Megaloceros (long overdo take on this animal, my only gripe is the coloration isn't accurate to how it was depicted in cave art).

Concavenator

I chose:

-BotM: Chasmosaurus, Styracosaurus

-CollectA: Lisowicia, Microraptor

-PNSO: Borealopelta, Qianzhousaurus, Spinosaurus

-Safari: Deinonychus, Edmontosaurus

ceratopsian

I found this extraordinarily difficult, given that my liking for ceratopsians predisposed me to the BotM releases, and given that I have a soft spot for PNSO.  My initial short-list was a hefty 27 models - and I thought I'd been ruthless to get it down so low!  I tried to spread my votes around somewhat between the different producers (and not just dinosaurs)  and in the end came up with (alphabetical order of companies):

CollectA
Lisowicia
BotM
Chasmosaurus
Styracosaurus
Triceratops, sub-adult
PNSO
Atopodentatus
Borealopelta
Lambeosaurus
Miragaia
Sinoceratops baby
Vitae
Tiantaiosaurus

I'm aware that the Sinoceratops baby is a slightly odd choice - but it appeals hugely to me for some weird reason and gives me a lot of pleasure.  So I'm having the courage of my convictions...

Honourable mentions:
CollectA Caviramus, Fukuisaurus and Microraptor
BotM Diabloceratops, Monoclonius and Zuniceratops
PNSO Tuojiangosaurus (but could name a good few more!)
Safari Edmontosaurus
Vitae Jinyunpelta

Shonisaurus

I would have liked it to have been possible to vote many more figures than the intention to vote. Honestly choosing ten figures as the best of 2020 among the great variety of prehistoric animal figures is unfair and incomplete from my humble point of view. At least twenty figures should be allowed to vote.

Bread

This was my first year fully participating in the forum, and this will be my first year voting for top ten favorite figures released. Here are my picks:

1. PNSO's Corythosaurus
2. PNSO's Lambeosaurus
3. Safari's Deinonychus
4. Safari's Sarcosuchus
5. PNSO's Tyrannosaurus (adult)
6. CollectA's Fukuisaurus
7. PNSO's Borealopelta
8. CollectA's Bajadasaurus
9. Rebor's Titanoboa
10. PNSO's Spinosaurus

11-15 Are honorable mentions of mine:
11. Mojo's Mamenchisaurus (odd choice of mine, yes I know)
12. Safari's Shringasaurus
13. Safari's Edmontosaurus
14. Mesozoo Allosaurus
15. I-Toy Paraceratherium
No I did not vote for these last 5 picks, but I heavily considered these figures in my top 10.

avatar_Dusty Wren @Dusty Wren avatar_Gothmog the Baryonyx @Gothmog the Baryonyx I apologize for the oversight, not sure how I missed that! I've added the Papo Megaloceros at the bottom of the list (the only place one can add new poll choices). There were only a couple of Cenozoic figures last year, so I imagine fans of Ice Age stuff will want to vote for that. The settings allow you to change your vote, in case the addition of the Megaloceros changes anyone's mind.

Sim

I'm waiting for Everything Dinosaur to get the PNSO Miragaia, so that I can have it before voting.

Bokisaurus

Voted! Wow, that was hard ;D
CollectA, PNSO dominated with Itoy, GR toys, and Nanmu rounding up my top 10 ;D

PrimevalRaptor

Man, I forgot some of the mentioned figures were from 2020 and not a bit older. This year sure had some amazing releases, top 1 spot for me is certainly the Safari Deinonychus though, in my opinion it's the perfect dromaeosaur toy, been waiting for one like this for years.

suspsy

I'm assuming there's no way to vote a second time? One of the candidates I thought I clicked on did not register.
