I really hope the Majunga and Notho are good. Please get Vlad to do them

The Diabloceratops and the most recent Triceratops were pretty decent, so the Styracosaurus probably will be as well.

Nothosaurus as a name sounds promising.  Schleich as a company does not.  Hopefully it will reach the level of their Diabloceratops.

Considering what they did to Plesiosaurus, I'm not holding my breath for a good figure.

This is true, but thanks to Safari, and recently PNSO, I don't feel compelled to buy any ceratopsain from Schleich. They would have to really knock it out of the park with something exemplary.

Which more and more suggests that Schleich has become increasingly irrelevant to many collectors of their dinosaur offerings.

Schleich has pretty good distribution so they aren't hurting much. I've seen them from small gift shops to bigger retailers.  They do serve as a "gateway drug" to dinosaur collecting for a lot of young fans.

Schleich appears to be really popular with more casual dinosaur fans, the kind that walk into a store and just get excited to see a dinosaur toy. I'm talking the kind of people that like dinosaurs enough to go see a Jurassic World movie and watch Dinosaur Hunters but probably aren't aware of who Darren Naish is or that companies like PNSO even exist. Schleichs extant animals are usually well done though, I'll give them that much.

Schleich is basically the McDonald's of the prehistoric toy business. They're by no means the best quality, but their distribution is second to none.

Hmm, McDonalds, yes, that's well put. Don't think that I'll be "supersizing" any orders of their dino offerings any time soon, though.

I wish they weren't as good at distribution as they are. Over the years they've been replacing the Papo figures where I go to shop for them in person

I'll say one thing - they're typically robustly fabricated. Little kids love them and no matter how roughly they are used, never seem to break. They are the ultimate dino daycare survivors.

Working as an educator I can vouch for the fact, that they can break.... however, that is usually the fact in cases of very extreme force or biting off. Most kids may not do so at home, but if you have a bunch o`them around bashing those figures, well, even the otherwise sturdiest PVC figure has to give up :D

To add to the conversation about Schleich distribution, my local Target(s) use to carry numerous battat's and Safari figures, but now only hold Schleich figures. To top it off, the freaking Giganotosaurus has been crowding the shelves compared to their other figures. Not sure if it is just my area though, but then again I think Schleich need to add more variety to their distribution in stores. I have yet to see any of their newer 2020 and 2021 releases hit the shelves.

Edit: I want to note that I won't be interested in these 2022 lineups until they hit shelves. It doesn't help the fact that I have limited shelf space, but I won't go out of my way to order figures that (hopefully) will land its way on shelves at some point.

Concavenator

Most of the figures from Schleich's lineups are bad, but sometimes they put out figures that are not that bad. I'm personally hoping for the best figure to be the Amargasaurus. It's one of my favorite sauropods, dicraeosaurids are very cool. Yet I still don't have a single Amarga, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like, though I better not get my hopes up.

Again, I hope to be wrong but the Nothosaurus and the  Majungasaurus might be so bad they will look funny. Hopefully it's not the case, but it's Schleich we are talking about...

When it comes to Majungasaurus, I'm of course looking forward to Wild Past's.  8)
