why do i get the feeling the nothosaurus will have giant spikes and crocodile scutes
I won't mind as long as it looks cool
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

yeah. sadly i wouldn't expect anything decent from schleich, the contrast between their animals and their dinosaurs highlights exactly what's wrong with the public's perception of extinct life.

they are not monsters, they're beautiful animals.

long as my heart's beatin' in my chest
this old dawg ain't about to forget :')

Eh, yes...

That's supposed to a Bengal Cat...

Well we all know how Schleich does research. That video has been linked in this forum often enough.
You are acting like they are engaged in some kind of mad science. But Schleich is doing what they have done from the beginning. Nothing about Schleich Dinosaurs is natural. They have made unnatural looking creatures since the Replica Saurus days. And, if their people did some actual research, many of them would look quite different. But their customers don't ask for reality. They ask for more teeth.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Ivántirrophus

For me, the only good figure of Scheilch is the oviraptor. I bought it. I hope these new figures will be acceptable.

Schleich's extant horses and other animals  have changed in the last several years as well...they've  been less realistic and more "cute" and Disney like, the bengal cat posted above is a good example...that's good or bad depending on how you like your animals depicted. I do love cute furry mammal and bird figures myself but I also miss their older more realistic style, especially with the horses.

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor That Jurassic World quote fits this situation perfectly eh?

Schleich is the "laughing stock/butt of everyone's joke" in the animal figure collecting world. but once in a while they give us a pleasant surprise, a very rare occasion. the name Schleich nowadays is more synonymous with deformed/unpleasant overpriced products.
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

A funny thing happened at Tors 'R Us yesterday. I had a few minutes to kill so I went in to see what, if any, dinosaurs were in stock, expecting the usual cast of 3-4 year old Schleichs. Yes, there were a couple left on the shelf, but alongside was a whole raft of hollow cheaposaur Schleich and Papo knockoffs! How low can you go?

I'd say Schleich is like the band Nickelback in that plenty of people detest their work, yet they are insanely successful to the point where they can afford to laugh at their detractors.

They could make a "Marvel Cinematic Universe Edition" of their Tyrannosaurus... The Eternals' favorite dinosaur toy! It's CANON!

Gwangi

Happy to see that it's that one and not the older style.

SidB

Ditto - I've become rather fond of this one too. Never could warm up to any of the older ones.

Carnoking

That's an enticing lineup but like everyone else I'm not expecting much. Suppose I should jump on the diabloceratops since I've been putting it off

Oh yeah, that's cool with me.

Szajmin

My prediction so far:

Amargasaurus - probably cursed, maybe funny

Parasaurolophus - probably outdated pose or smth, maybe decent

Nothosaurus - probably cursed and funny, with weird teeth

Majungasaurus -  - probably outdated pose or smth, maybe decent

Styracosaurus - i hope it be on level with diabloceratops and recent triceratops

I have a feeling this is going to be accurate.
Most (if not all) Rebor figures are mid

Those aren't bad.

Is that a nothosaurus?

PrimevalRaptor

The Parasaurolophus and Amargasaurus don't seem that outstanding to me though I do like the colors on the Para.
Gonna wait for a proper sideview image to judge the Majungasaurus, not sure if it keeps the "sausage" proportions it had, arms seem a bit too large but overall this could have been much, much worse (and I swear I've seen the color scheme before)
The Nothosaurus seems to have weirdly big flippers and the blunt teeth are to be expected for a children's toy but it overall looks pretty decent I feel? Think the Safari toob one still takes the cake but I sure may pick this one up just to finally have a larger Nothosaurus. Positively surprised.
