My favorite species of Allosaurus. So glad he's having this one made as well.

The Allosaurus jimmadseni looks great.  I have a feeling both it and the Allosaurus fragilis will sell very well due to the genus's popularity.  I'm looking forward to getting both species.  I'm very curious to see what colourations the A. jimmadseni will have.  And David has successfully got me very intrigued by the BotM Dilophosaurus!  I can't wait to see it!

Jim Kirkland pointed out on Facebook that the hands are wrong; the thumb claws should be way bigger than the other two. Hopefully this will be corrected.

Quote from: Creative Beast StudioFor today's Cyberzoic reveal, we have a look another main dragon character with a close tie to the Arctic species. Here is the Fucanglong a.k.a the Antarctic Dragon!

'Fucanglong was one of many failed attempts by the Tech Clan to genetically engineer their own Dragon- but the only one to actually survive. His genetic code was mostly derived from the mighty Arctic species, but supplemented with a living stone from the volcanic regions, in an effort to give the creature an impenetrable hide. However, when the embryo was consumed by the volcanic stone, it was thought to have been dead and was cast into the incinerator. But the intense heat burned off the stone exterior and allowed the creature to survive, eventually escaping to the southern territory. Plagued by the constantly growing stone formations on his body, Fucanglong must always be exposed to fire, or the living stone in his skin will overtake him. His condition is his curse but also granted him great strength, and he quickly overtook the dragons of the volcanic Dark Lands, eventually joining them with the humans of the Fire Clan to create a devastating alliance.'

Love the in depth backstory this one has here. I really like the design as well. David confirmed this one would be getting a figure in the instagram comments.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy, could you please add the Allosaurus jimmadseni to the first post?

On a different note, I read recently that the filaments of Psittacosaurus appear to be modified scales, not feathers.  Still, Kulindadromeus is an example of a partially feathered dinosaur so that could be a base for the partially feathered BotM/Cyberzoic figures.  As I think I said earlier, I'll form an opinion on the Dilophosaurus and Cryolophosaurus figures when I see them.

Faelrin

avatar_Sim @Sim Since you mentioned it, I'm still rather bummed no one has made a figure of Kulindadromeus. Still here waiting.

Feathered Dilo colours
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Pliosaurking

I really, really like this colour scheme!

Sim

Well, it looks intense!  For me, it's an acquired taste.  As I think I've mentioned previously, I don't like the partially feathered look.  However, I can see a number of things in this Dilophosaurus that have been carefully considered and applied: lips, the crest shape, the appearance based on the most recent findings, the extent of feathering, the soft tissue on the neck, the colouration.  I'm drawn to figures that have much thought put into them and I like Dilophosaurus.  I intend to get this figure.  I think this figure will be epic!

Concavenator

That colour scheme is different than I thought it was going to be. Still looks cool though.

Does anyone know of a Dilophosaurus skeletal showing the preserved remains (after the 2020 discoveries)? I have been on the search for one, but I haven't found any. I want to see if this is a fragmentary species or not, I'm not sure about that. I was wondering if this is another case of an animal that's super popular but with its appearance being speculative, like Spinosaurus or Therizinosaurus.

EmperorDinobot

I want that Dilophosaurus BADDDDddd...

Faelrin

It's so beautiful, and I can't wait to get it once it's available. I'm really curious about how it will compare alongside the Mattel Amber Collection Dilophosaurus as well. I'm also wondering what bird he's basing it on here. Looks so beautiful.

Appropriately enough, I believe that's the Double-crested Cormorant.

This looks really good, and while it's larger than my preferred scale, it's a small enough animal that it won't be a gigantic figure. The figure will be seriously tempting.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Oooh, color me excited once more! ...And basing the scheme on a double-crested cormorant is a clever little play on names I appreciate.

I haven't seen any myself, although I recall Scott Hartman making an off-hand comment about MAYBE doing one soon. Quite a few bones are described in the 2020 paper, though, and from five separate specimens; so I think Dilophosaurus is much better known than either of the big theropods you mentioned.

Leyster

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator as far as I remember, the 2020 paper do not came from new remains (even if some were undescribed), but from a redescription of what already had. Anyway, I was told this skeletal is pretty good (credits: Jonathan Harris)
"Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. What is left of them is fossilized in the rocks, and it is in the rock that real scientists make real discoveries. Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park is create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less."

Concavenator

L @Leyster thank you, but I was specifically referring to a skeletal that shows the known material.

SpartanSquat

Its me or david changed the cormorant specie for this?

A Cyberzoic version is in the works as well, and it's more than just a repaint -stay tuned.
