Stegosaurus Corpse (CollectA)

…Each one is a slightly different shape. Similarly, two of the four spikes comprising the famous thagomizer are longer than their companions. The Stegosaurus is sculpted in a classic “death pose,” lying on its right side with the head thrown back and the tail curling down. The head looks too large for an adult individual, but perhaps this one is an adolescent. The feet not only have the proper number of toes, but also the proper number of hooves….

Stegosaurus (World of History by Schleich)

…ith a homemade paint job. The eyes are shark like, just black orbs, but it works. There is detail all over this toy, so it’s a joy from every angle. I happen to love Stegosaurus, so I am a bit biased, but this really is a decent toy. It is a good size, with good detail, and pose. I would recommend this for kids, and adults who don’t mind a few minor inaccuracies. Available from Amazon.com here. Addendum: The 2012 World of History version is not a…

Stegosaurus (CollectA)

…ldhood, which universally sported tiny plates and tyrannosaur-sized heads, complete with razor sharp teeth on a herbivore! This said, in both size and general price range, the Collecta Stegosaurus is directly comparable to the “Wild Safari” rendition of the animal which is vastly superior in every respect (see a review and excellent pictures by Tetonbabydoll here) While I don’t think the wild safari version is perfect by any means, when you place…

Stegosaurus (Papo)

…ey as in the splotches on the plates. The eyes are yellow with dotted pupils – this was a diurnal animal! All in all, If you want a Stegosaurus replica that is true to the real animal, I would recommend Kinto or Wild Safari. All in all – If you are a fan of Stegosaurus (well really, who isn’t?) this is one worth picking up. Available from Amazon.com (here)…

Parasaurolophus (Wild Safari by Safari Ltd)

…a charming dinosaur, not to mention it looks great wandering around in your garden. 🙂 Sometimes available from Ebay.com here…

Parasaurolophus (World of History by Schleich)

…issues as most are noted within the original model review. I would like to comment on a few inaccuracies affecting both models, however. First, the feet are not up to date. Most experts accept that hadrosaur feet were shaped like padded hooves, however the feet on this figure are big and flat. Another thing is the neck, which is far too skinny and should have more substance to it like the Wild Safari Gryposaurus. Next, it’s time to talk about the…

Parasaurolophus (Deluxe) (CollectA)

…model is a durable, playable, very well made and accurate depiction of the ever-so-loved Parasaurolophus. As it is very reasonably priced, I recommend it to any collector. Available from Amazon.com here….

Parasaurolophus (Mojö Fun)

…tter what, kids, and anyone who likes strange and interesting dinosaur toys, then give it a try. Available from Ebay.com here…

Parasaurolophus (Papo)

…l of detail and has a colour scheme that I really like – some may see it as a little dull, but I prefer to think of it as ‘subtle naturalistic camouflage’ (and the creature doesn’t always have to have a glowing red tuba on its head). Please do comment to point out where I’ve gone wrong in this review (or even to agree with me!) as I don’t know so much about hadrosaurs. Good thing I didn’t say that at the beginning of the review, eh? Available from…

Utahceratops (CollectA)

…from CollectA. Overall appraisal: The Utahceratops figure is unique but uncomplicated. The color is rather uninspiring, but believable. The pose is passive yet natural and compelling. That is why this is an interesting toy. This figure is so well done that it is hard for it to stand out. CollectA continues to do ceratopsian toys extremely well, and with bated breath I look forward to their renditions of the many species that are still waiting for…

Mosasaurus (Real-Feel)(Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom by Mattel)

…nosaurus figures that accompany it in the “Large Dinos” sub-line for the upcoming film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It measures about 30″ long from nose to tail tip. The figure is coloured a striking blue with complimenting light and dark hues to create that countershading coloration associated with most large marine animals. The eyes are yellow and the inside of the jaws are a subdued pink, including the tongue. Like many of Mattel’s medium a…

Mosasaurus (Chomper)(Jurassic World by Hasbro)

…ye of the beholder. If you are a fan of the Jurassic World film, it might be worth taking a chance on. // //z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/onejs?MarketPlace=US…

Smilodon (Bullyland)

…like in the images above and below) and I can see no inaccuracies. If you happen to see some, once again, let me know in the comments section. This Smilodon is currently out of stock on Everything Dinosaur.com, so I hope that it becomes in stock again. In the mean time, you can try buying it on Amazon or eBay. I hope that you enjoyed my review, have a nice day, and until next time, cheers!…

Sabre-Toothed Cats (Playmobil)

…oth would be sweet. In the mean time, you can still find a few prehistoric sets for sale at Playmobil.ca., and Amazon.com here….

Smilodon (Carnegie Collection by Safari ltd.)

…but it healed, and the cat is still roaming its territory, master of its domain. Of course that could have less to do with the figure and more from my over-active imagination. I would recommend this figure only to those who collect Carnegie, sabre-tooth-cats, or to anyone who likes the look of it. Sometimes found on Ebay.com here….

Olorotitan (CollectA)

…or protection of an ankylosaurid, or the grandiose feel of sauropods. Even compared to Iguanodon and Parasaurolophus, with the thumb spikes and long crest, it is a very stiff figure, that the few times I have observed kids playing with it, it ends up being meat for the carnivores. Overall Appraisal: In my opinion it reminds me of a porcelain dinosaur figure. I think people look at this toy and say wow that’s a pretty or gorgeous dinosaur. It just…

Kentrosaurus (CollectA)

…o need to worry about any of those long spike snapping, as the model is made from some very flexible plastic which can move about quite a lot before being put under any serious stress. I would recommend this model to any stegosaur fan, particularly if you like slightly more exotic species, or models with a bit of personality. Available from Amazon.com here….

Ankylosaurus (Jurassic World by Hasbro)

…y wound (which can be painted over), the screw holes, and the suspicious resemblance to Papo, this is not a bad toy. The extending neck gimmick is silly, but the bashing tail is simple, solid fun. And compared to the other JW toys I’ve seen, it looks like a museum piece. If you only get one of them, I say get this one. Available from Amazon.com here and Amazon.co.uk here. //…

Ankylosaurus (Soft Model Series 2 by Favorite Co. Ltd.)

…are some violet paint strokes to accentuate shadows. The level of details in this sculpture is very pleasing though it’s no Papo. It’s reasonably priced (available from Amazon.com here), so I would highly recommend this model to anyone who desires to have an up-to-date version of this fantastic animal….

Woolly Mammoth (Museum Line by Bullyland)

…the ‘T. rex of the Pleistocene,’ if you will. Like T. rex, the woolly mammoth tends to dominate the media when talking about prehistory and in terms of collectibles, it seems to have stolen the fame from other megafauna. There are tons of woolly mammoth figures out there, but if you are a completist, you should get this one. As I noted earlier, this figure has not been retired, so you can find it at your local toy shop if it happens to stock Bull…
