This is definitely a good year for the woolly rhinoceros Coelodonta. First there was the reveal of the Haolonggood toy last month. And now here’s the painted prototype for the upcoming 1/18 scale action figure by Creative Beast Studio.

What a beauty indeed!

The upcoming 1/18 scale Cyberzoic Yutyrannus looks very different from the Beasts of the Mesozoic version thanks to its raven-inspired colour scheme.

The black and blue really make it seem like a cold, sinister, pitiless killer.

And the very first non-mammalian critter in Beasts of the Cenozoic will be the giant terror bird Kelenken!

Slated for release this May, the 1/18 Cyberzoic Carnotaurus is an agile, graceful, and fearsome predator!

Just look at all that articulation!

And slated for release further in the future is the super awesome 1/12 scale dire wolf!

This vicious dog comes with three interchangeable heads.

Now the ambush! Ademir explodes from his hiding spot in the tall grass and flings himself upon his unsuspecting quarry, which bellows in fright and pain as his claws easily puncture its skin and dig deep into its flesh.

Now the coup de grace!

Review: Woolly mammoth/Mammuthus primigenius (1/18 scale adults and calves, by Creative Beast Studio)

Mammoths outside in the early morning, in fresh snow, with snow covered trees behind, and a cloudy light blue sky. The snowy mammoth is on the left facing the right, using the female tusks with trunk raised, and the snowy calf is beside it, front of the legs. The standard mammoth is on the right, facing left, with trunk slightly lowered, using the male tusks, with some snow sprinkled on its back. The standard calf is in front of this one's legs, also facing the left. Mouths open on all figures, except the snowy calf.

This is not going to be just one review of sorts. Oh no, this is going to be a mammoth review… of mammoths. Both of the 1/18 scale adults and calves, in the standard and snowy colorations. The original plan was to tackle the snowy ones which are in a set together (and was exclusive to those that backed the original campaign), but having the standard ones on hand too, and since the only thing different is the packaging, collector cards, and paintwork, no harm in doing all together.

The flakes are pelting down fiercely, but one still must eat. Peetyuk is hunched over in the middle of a sea of white, doggedly digging away at the hard-packed snow with his one good tusk. He remembers all too well that day when he lost most of his other tusk, in a musth-fuelled scrap with another bull last season.
