Wish they gave it a better paint scheme though, or at least a different one from the Thrash and Throw.

The Allosaurus bugs me a lot, the teeth and mouth just look goofy as heck. It's as if the sculptor was wearing blurry glasses when they were sculpting the poor thing.

I still prefer the medical center Allosaurus figure and David's blue one is a close second.  Mattel's is still better than Hasbro's though..gotta look at the cup half full and shaking.

The Allosaurus is the worst of the Roarivores. Do I love it anyways? Yes. I will attempt to review it before the weekend here. The other two are just so much better.

Yeah I guess this isn't as bad now that I have a proper 360 view of it. The tail looks to have a bit more meat on it (still on the shrink-wrapped side sadly), since it looked much thinner to me in some images. Teeth are still goofy, but it has its charm I guess. It almost sounds like the Indominus too.

Edit: It is crazy how well these Mattel figures scale up with the Kenner JP toys.

The Mattel Allosaurus is a bit weird, admittedly. Too prominent teeth and I don't like that greyish blue tongue. The comparison with David Silva's is unfair though, that sculpt is of an insane quality for a toyline, and most of all doesn't have any movie reference at all. And I'd be interested to see the colossal T-Rex with all other rexes from Kenner and Hasbro, just to have a better idea of how huge it is.

 Well...The JW Pachy was one of the few ok-ish figures from the JW toy line, although still mediocre.

Besides, the Actual Pachy will look WAY better:

Don't know why but I LOVE the Triceratops, it is probably the most screen accurate JP/JW Triceratops ever made.

In my opinion the Metriacanthosaurus is the worst, I mean, yeah, Allosaurus teeht are a bit goofy but the rest of the figure looks good. Metriacanthosaurus on the other hand just looks weird, I mean, it is hunched over and the feet are very weird, they remind me of the feet of some JW toys, which is not a good thing.

David is (often) incorrectly attributed to sculpting that Allosaurus. I posted this bit of info earlier in this thread:

David Silva only sculpted the Pachyrhinosaurus for the Dino Showdown line. I remember asking him about that long ago in one of the kickstarter updates. Hunting down one of my old comments in the kickstarter update number 31, his response said that Dave Proctor sculpted it. Sara Richard (who did the BotM Fan's Choice package artwork) sculpted the unreleased Stegosaurus and Carnotaurus for that line.

Anyways... I watched that review of the Triceratops earlier today. I really do like how it looks, and I agree that it could easily be the most film accurate toy so far. Between the way the scales were sculpted, as well as the head sculpt nailing the look of it. It is easily one of my favorites from this line, and definitely one of my top two favorites of the Roarivores (the other being the Baryonyx).

Must have missed that. The Dino Showdown Allosaurus is insanely good nonetheless, incomparable with anything else among JP toys, in my opinion.

I definitely agree with you there. I still desire that Allosaurus honestly, but I'm probably just going to have to settle for the Mattel one in the end, because of price and availability, although it is pretty far down in my wishlist for these toys.

It is interesting that these three all come with a unique compy sculpt. They also look a bit funny in their faces, but that may be because the packaging makes it hard to get a good look at them, and because these will obviously be cheap figures.

Regarding the Metri, it looks a bit retro but at least the colors are passable.  The Allosaurus doesn't look on par with any of the other models in the collection. It clashes stylistically and is quite anemic in presentation.
