I think that fish is a Coccosteus. The profile is wrong for a Dunk.

It will be a coccosteus but without a doubt it is the best armored fish that I have seen in the collectors market except for the resin dunkleosteus.

Hi avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus, it is a lovely piece. It's made of a very brittle plastic and has already had a mishap. Quite weighty too.

Shonisaurus

avatar_UK @UK ? @Stolpergeist Thanks for the information to both. I figured that the dunkleosteus was somehow made of a very noble material. Is very pretty. I honestly really like Favorite's dunkleosteus, in fact it's one of my favorites along with Safari's. The blue color of Favorite dunkleosteus fascinates me, on the other hand, I have commented that Favorite's dunkleosteus is the most precise that makes me love it more every day.

Nice figure, I understand that it is a unique model. What brand does it belong to? Is very pretty.

BlueKrono

I wonder if it could be the same Japanese sculptor who made my one-off Rodhocetus in very brittle resin, which has also suffered a mishap?

Thanks for the additional photos, avatar_UK @UK. I don't think the joints really match up well for either genus, but the convexity of the head in profile is much more consistent with a coccosteid. The overall body shape is very similar to my Coccosteus from Ordovis. If it's the same sculptor that avatar_BlueKrono @BlueKrono was referring to, yours might have been some really obscure genus, or just inaccurate in minor ways.

There was a discussion over the maker of this bottle cap line a long while back but I can't remember the outcome. Anyway, thought it time to line them up once more as I've spent the rainy day dusting, tidying up and moping about.

Both series of subdued and vibrant hues together with the secrets. Mostly retro sculpts and hideously outdated but what detail for their size.

I see that each figure has two versions of colors. Thank you for showing off those figure wonders.

Faelrin

Any idea on who makes those? I am particularly digging that Crystal Palace Iguanodon, but the others look nice as well for retro takes.

avatar_UK @UK : Wow, what a very cool and impressive bottle-cap dino collection!

I especially like the two Plesiosaur and Mosasaur bottle-caps as an absolute fan of these two ancient marine reptiles!

Very well presented as always and a very nice looking wooden shelf!

Thank you Kirsty, I've been meaning to pop them on the shelves for a while. Only in Japan do they do this detail.

I think it was established that Bandai rather than kaiyodo created them.

We worked out here thanks to a photo from UK that the Retro Classic bottle caps are from Kaiyodo, although Dinosauriana had attributed them to Bandai: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=3390.msg179542;topicseen#msg179542

Impressive to see a full set

Thanks for the link Tim. I remember the conversation but not the resolution. I knew it was either Bandai or Kaiyodo.

They are getting quite brittle, the stands are getting prone to breaking and a triceratops has lost a horn. But a beautiful set. I've considered removing the caps but refrain as they are intrinsic to the set.

CityRaptor

Ah, the Retro Classics! A rather nice set. I only own the brown Allosaurus, which is also one of the few figures I got in "used" condition I still own. ( The others are all Sinclairs ). Sorry to hear that they are getting brittle. Maybe putting them in some kind of display case might be a good idea.

I also recognize two other figures I own: The Sega Vignetteum T.rex and the Dinotales Anhanguera!

Nice collection of vintage figures! It really is amazing and fun to see them all together as a collection instead of singles 😃

:D  Yeah, they go pretty well together!
Reminds me of my own encounter with Australovenator:

Shonisaurus

Nice photograph of Banjo the australovenator by the way I see that it is supported by that primitive man. Does this figure have sustainability problems? In my case I have no problems keeping it standing, but I have already seen comments in the DTF in reference to the poor stability of that figure. In my case I feel like a very lucky person when it comes to Banjo.
