The sculpts and paint app look very off on these two species.

I wonder why Mattel decided to make the arms of the young Tyrannosaurus so muscular? Hopefully it's just the awkward angles in the promo pics, and that the actual figure will have better proportions than this. TLW maquette for reference:

The Compsognathus pack are easily the worst offenders of the AC line so far. It looks nothing like the movie design, much less the actual animal. The figure lacks a reduced Digit I; the head is far too robust, especially the lower jaw; and the figure just lacks the gracile build of Compsognathus. It's a damn shame how the main line compsognathus figure is a far more movie accurate sculpt than it's supposed "deluxe", "collector oriented" counterpart. (notice how even the main line compy has a reduced Digit I)

And finally, apint apps. I can't be the only one who thinks the Rex and Compies should have swapped colour schemes right?

they're kinda cool i guess

looking forward to more marine reptiles though, not too bothered about much else.

Yeah these are disappointing (Muldoon is okay though), but I gathered such from the leaked Amazon pic. Hoping its just these promo pics that are off and not the final product. Proportions look exaggerated and the colors are off. "Junior" is way too saturated and the compies are too dull in those images. Anyways I'll add them to the op some time later.

Though I will say the T. rex looks better in the pic with the muzzle on. I think the arms are beefed up to allow for articulation, ditto with the compies jaws, but yeah it does look off. Edit: Does anyone remember beefed up Hammond, lol? It's like that all over again.

I'll definitely wait for a review on these and a sale more then likely.

Edit: Muldoon doesn't have his gun because of licensing issues: https://www.instagram.com/p/CSCEuI1qV_G/?utm_medium=copy_link

Considering that Mattel managed to figure out how to do jaw and body articulation on their blind-bag miniature figures, I expected them to be able to engineer proper articulation on a much larger AC figure without sacrificing too much on the sculpt.

You do have a point with that, but it's really the only thing I could think of. I truly do hope this set looks better in hand pics.

Oof. I mostly wanted this set for the compy pack, but I'm thinking I may not keep my pre-order.

I wish the Iguanodon and the Lythronax would get revealed.

The Iguanodon was probably delayed for the dominion toyline, since it will appear in the film. I suggested this to you a while ago.

I know, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be revealed this year. Although the Lythronax is the one I'm really interested in. Namely as a potential Xmas present for my niece. I've gotten her a bunch of the Mattel toys and she loves them.

Still no official confirmation on those actually releasing this year. I think this late in the game we would have images by now. And although there was a product number and image for the Kentrosaurus I think it may be releasing next year, if it didn't get canceled. Many others like the baby Nasutoceratops and Moros are clearly delayed until next year.

Granted the first wave of Dino Escape is also just starting to hit US stores, maybe other places, after spotty distribution elsewhere. I would expect it to be much later before the second wave shows up (Baby Brachiosaurus, Alioramus, Ouranosaurus, Allosaurus, Baryonyx Chaos, Chialingosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Ben and Bumpy, Kenji and Monolophosaurus, etc), possibly because of this cargo ship situation, and they don't seem to be a part of that wave.

I think the JWD toys will be announced at around the same time as the trailer and released alongside the movie

Well now. Soon after I mentioned wanting to get my niece a tyrannosaur toy for Xmas, I found the Tarbosaurus on Amazon for retail price (it had been either sold out or marked at a crazy price for ages). Snapped it up right away.  :) So now I really don't have any need for a Lythronax. Still interested in seeing what it looks like, though!

Lythronax? Given that it has a status as a memetic badass, JWA players will have a field day with that one.

Those must be some really dirty glasses if it changes colors, too.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
