The small ornithopods probably aren't Leaellynasaura. They don't have fuzz, or the signature long tails of Leaellynasaura. They are most likely juvenile Zalmoxes since Hatzegopteryx, Struthiosaurus and Magyarosaurus are also in the trailer

Also, as previously mentioned, PP is set during "the last days of the dinosaurs" (as opposed to the Early Cretaceous, when Leaellynasaura lived).

That reminds me of Alteori's reactions, especially the 2nd one.

Laeallynasaura did not actually have that super long tail either though, that specimen is no longer assigned to that genus.

I really love that A LOT OF Youtubers that have no idea about dinosaurs (as her) are reviewing their reactions to the trailer. That's absolutely AMAZING!! Just search in Youtube for "Prehistoric planet reactions" and you'll see even gamers and toy reviewers trying to make a video of their reactions. And they are all freakingly astonished and hiperexcited about the documentary.
And of course, paleontologists and experts with more knowledge have shared theirs and I almost feel the same as them. My favourite review is the one of Blayken, he always finds something more that others have not mentioned.

But check also this from EDGE, whose videos are always of a quality content:

I think this documentary will set up a new generation as WWD did. I'm super excited to see it, both in original and in the Spanish narration. I'm quite curious about how will the translation come out, as Utahraptor was translated to Velociraptor and probably a lot of adults now think that it was even larger than the JP ones and lived in Europe (as funny as Utahraptor didn't either).

I like how on the beach scene, the adult rex is portrayed as being a father looking after its young, and not a bloodthirsty killer. Should we compile a list of all the species confirmed to be in the show?

Here's the best PP analysis video yet! I especially like the inclusion of Naish's PP tweets:

Anyone put in any thought about the dromaeosaurid being a Tsaagan? Tsaagan Mangas roughly translates to "White Monster", and the dino depicted is unusually off white. Some clever word play?

Adasaurus since this is Nemegt Formation or possibly a time displaced Velociraptor

Right now, we don't know for sure that the tyrannosaur+dromaeosaur scene takes place in the same region as the Deinocheirus scene. Yes, they could be T. bataar & Adasaurus, but they also could be Tarbosaurus sp. & Velociraptor ( https://books.google.com/books?id=AzHUXy7HGo4C&pg=PA178&dq=%22velociraptor%22+%22tarbosaurus+sp.%22 ). I'm thinking the latter b/c, based on what I've read, Adasaurus had a smaller sickle claw ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adasaurus#Sicke_claw_function ).

I'm pretty sure Gabriel Ugueto, who worked on Prehistoric Planet to some degree, confirmed it was a Velociraptor shortly after the trailer dropped.

Many thanks for sharing. That gives us a better idea of what to expect. Off the top of my head:
-1) The swimming/beach-combing T. rex scenes are separate from the nuzzling/Triceratops-eating T. rex scenes ("Coasts" & "Forests", respectively).
-2) The Tarbosaurus/velociraptorine scenes are separate from the Deinocheirus scenes ("Deserts" & "Freshwater", respectively).
-3) The Qianzhousaurus/unnamed ornithopod/unnamed ankylosaur scenes & Beezlebufo scenes are probably in "Forests" & "Freshwater", respectively.

So we are probably going to have multiple time periods on each episode, but all having a similar enviroment.

Interesting arrangement, one would expect the typical chronological structute going from earliest period to latests.

Also, I am the only one who is a bit disappointed that all of the action takes place in the Cretaceous? A bit of Triassic and Jurassic wouldn't hurt...

Definitely not the only one. I think quite a few people pointed this out when this was revealed.

I am hoping that this documentary gets enough support to where they will produce an additional series. A prequel if you'd like to call it, where they go back further in time. Personally I'd like a revamp of Triassic to Jurassic like WWD's, but then again this isn't WWD.

GojiraGuy1954

I like how they're focusing on one specific part of time. It makes it feel even more like Planet Earth or another modern nature documentary.

I'm actually liking the strictly late cretaceous setting. The late Cretaceous isn't very well explored in media outside the popular Hell Creek.

I definitely want to watch this series, even if it's with a free trial. No piracy of course, I am against it. Can you cancel the free trial afterwards? If that's the case, I will watch it for sure.

It's fascinating how Deinocheirus went from being a complete mystery to being very well known and gaining enough popularity to be featured in documentaries.

If that dromaeosaurid is indeed Velociraptor, why is a tyrannosaurid there to begin with? AFAIK, there hasn't been a single described tyrannosaurid hailing from the Djadochta Formation.

Faelrin

I like that they'll be focusing on different biomes for each episode. That's a lot like Planet Earth, and other similar nature docs. Very interesting choice of plesiosaur and pterosaur. Not ones I'm familiar with. It's a great way to get them out there, much like WWD did for things like Postosuchus and whatnot (at least for me growing up).
