A 2023 HC list has been floating around JP toy groups

Spoiler
Muldoon
Ray Arnold

JP3 raptor
Pachycephalosaurus
Geosterbegia
Concavonator
Metricanthosaurus
Irritator
[close]

Take this list with a grain of salt for now

Faelrin

Some of these have been shared here a bit ago, and there's images of the Geosternbergia and Concavenator floating around. Really hope we get something else from the film canon then the latter two. It's sure to raise a lot of contention with collectors if true. Only reason I'm okay with the Concavenator is because it is technically based on the one in FK, but that was also a statue in the background. And yeah sure the Metriacanthosaurus has the JW viral site and JWE design to use, but I would much rather get something else instead like Corythosaurus, JPIII Ankylosaurus, Nasutoceratops (how has the only figure still been the 2019 one?), a better (and more film accurate) Iguanodon, or even a Dominion inspired repaint of the Parasaurolophus. Irritator has no business here.

Agreed, but I think Mattel's goal here is to pad out the line to keep people interested as long as possible. Repaints are an easy, and most importantly, cheap way to do that, as we saw with the Amber Collection. If the Irritator rumor is true, I suspect it'll be a retool of the Baryonyx mold based on its Jurassic World Alive design, since they do share an in-game rig. A new species would probably sell better than a straight repaint (don't want a repeat of the AC raptor bonanza) even if it doesn't really belong.

Of course, it's also possible the rumor is bogus and none of this actually matters.

Faelrin

Yeah I'm taking it with a grain of salt. I guess we'll know more soon enough though since we already have more coming reveals in September and October, and of course a few days from here.

Although all evidence points to Ellie and Dilophosaurus being next, since those are the only two remaining ones we have seen, or know about, but it could be something else too, since non of the smaller figures were focused on, although Malcolm and the raptor did get shown alongside the Baryonyx and Parasaurolophus, and Grant was with the Ceratosaurus and Triceratops, although the Gallimimus wasn't. Although maybe that was because it was revealed at the Generation Jurassic Event, much like the T. rex was.

Anyone else have an issue with the Hammond Gallimimus where the peg the lower jaw is on can't quite be pushed in far enough and is left hanging a bit too far from the rest of the head?

Anyone here remember that leaked Micro Collection Pyroraptor from like last year or so? Yeah well it's finally happening.

Not quite as colorful as it was in the leak, and it's nice to see it looks like it has wings, sort of.

Edit: Here's the original for folks that want to compare it. I dug a bit for this. Looks like the new one has exposed teeth, bigger feathers or wings on the arms, and again the coloration is simplified to red and black, sort of more in line with the mainline figures, except the lack of wings on those.

Does anyone else think the Therizinosaurus looks a lot like the Imaginext figure for it? Or is it just me?

They could just be making the website Baryonyx and calling it Irritator since Baryonyx has a canon design now

I do not have this problem with mine.

avatar_BlueKrono @BlueKrono, I just like ugly sauropods.  ^-^

The Elaphrosaurus is just infuriating. If they were going to barely alter one of their existing sculpts to make an Elaphrosaurus, they would have been better off using Gallimimus over Coelurus.

Watch the Elaphrosaurus become the rarest one in the wave.

Faelrin

avatar_GojiraGuy1954 @GojiraGuy1954 You know I actually wouldn't mind that if that is the case. It certainly is a better Baryonyx design.

Also Collect Jurassic shared an image of yet another 20 piece mini set, this time ended for US markets. Contains all repacks as far as I'm aware.

Yes, I don't think it is literally the same mold, but it is about as different from the Coelurus figures as the various Velociraptor figures are from each other. Just unbelievably lazy.

If the Hammond Collection listings are true, I hope the JP3 is the male, so that in combination with the upcoming Legacy Collection JP3 female we can finally have a pair of JP3 raptors.

It only took 5 years since the first Mattel JW toys were made...

Although that would also means that my efforts an expenses in painting in order to repaint some figures into them have been worthless. Granted, should have done them years ago, but I kinda procrastinated a bit (a lot) in that regard. (I'll still do some touches to the female though).

Asking here, since I don't want to make an unnecessary thread for it;
What is the best Mattel figure that is a species featured in the franchise ?
An oversized house cat.

In terms of what? Playability, detail, sheer size, or just over all?

Carnoking

Their original Carnotaurus is still my high water mark. Even if there have been objectively better offerings, it's still my favorite toy from all their lines.
