It seems as though they are roughly the same size, with version 1.0 looking a bit larger and 2.0 looking longer. I'm going to be honest I think I prefer the first version thus far, although I'll wait to make my judgment till i see the second version in hand.

Strong work as ever but they still haven't given me much reason to believe in their "improved material"

I've not received one broken yet from them?

I'm sure there's a bit of luck and more than a bit of how these packages are handled in customs and by shipping carriers going into it but it's not unjustified to be a bit gun shy of their resin materials if one of yours showed up with some assembly required.

Of course, they somewhat assuaged my concern with the matter during the development of their newest Carnos and Sino when they showed off stress tests of dropping the figure to demonstrate the resiliency of their new material, but that all went out the window after I started seeing more and more Carnos winding up in pieces.

These are a few examples I've seen floating around, mine included.

And whether or not these breaks occurred in transit or happened through mishandling on the collectors part or an unfortunate tumble from the shelves seems moot given how Nanmu went out of their way to show how durable the material is. Of course after a certain height it doesn't matter what material it is, I recognize that, but the point stands that the long, gangly (resin) tail of the Giganotosaurus and a hulking V-rex figure balanced on one fixed foot is a fair reason for concern after all this.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I've only seen the last one with the marks on the bottom of the foot.  I received both mine but haven't opened them yet, I will do to check for damages tonight.

They are higher end models and not toys, that seems to be where the material started changing from the earliest releases. They aren't near as detailed as these newer ones.  With that comes new hazards unfortunately. As you said falling off a shelf does matter as does how high and what material they land on. four feet to concrete floor was enough to knock parts off my Papo figures, no real damage but it knocked the glue loose and needed fixing.

Rather unfortunate about the broken 2.0 Rangers some collectors received, considering that they claimed that it is new and improved material and showed fall tests. I don't recall any broken resin spino, and I assume it was made of the old resin material.

Perhaps it's less of an issue in the more robust sculpts like the Spinosaurus. In that regard, there may be less to worry about here but like I said, the long, thin tails are a bit disconcerting.

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon is right, it's the risk we take with these types of figures. If the PVC versions of these two were as accurate to the film designs, I probably wouldn't bother at this point.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Just opened both my Carnos, no problem with breaking or chipping or even paint loss. One did have a drop of gloss behind his ear I would rather wasn't there but not a big deal.

Pre-orders for each version up on BBTS now. Made with PVC. The two alternate colorations almost remind me of the new colors and patterns it has in the JWE2 game, via the most recent update. I'll be adding these to the DTC website in a bit here, for anyone that uses it.

Based on the speculation-fueled buying, these are Beanie Babies for grown men. I guess it's still better than NFTs.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Wow that, uh... that really hit the nail on the head 😅

Blade-of-the-Moon

Hopefully they won't end up in the trash like beanie babies.. ;)

Noticed the resin Giganotosaurus and Vastatosaurus that were already sold out, only had a limited number of 498 pieces. No wonder it must have went fast. In any case, still glad to catch those two browsing BBTS tonight, to add them to the DTC site, just in case anyone was lucky enough to get their hands on either of them (or pre-order for now).

Size confirmed by Nanmu on instagram:
If it is set to the shape of a straight line, then its size is set by 78CM

Blade-of-the-Moon

I really don't know if I'll buy either of those Mosas.  I have the first Nanmu one, the WDragon one, the Prime1 one..and one version looks like WDragon and the other Sideshow which I already have too.. not much reason really.

These strike me as being a bit of a nightmare to display  :o
