PNSO 2023 hopes and dreams

PNSO has become one of my favourite companies, along with Safari, and I look forward to seeing what they will release in 2023!  I'd really like any of the following from PNSO in 2023:

1. Herrerasaurus - An interesting and popular early dinosaur with no good figure version.

2. Utahraptor - I'd like PNSO to make more dromaeosaurids.  They are one of the most popular dinosaur groups yet PNSO has only made Microraptor.  Seeing how good PNSO's feathered dinosaurs have been makes me want a Utahraptor from PNSO!

3. Dilophosaurus - This could be spectacular!  There isn't an accurate figure of this species.

4. Daspletosaurus horneri - I'd like a figure of D. horneri, and not one of D. torosus as I'm happy with my Safari figure of it.

5. Chasmosaurus belli - PNSO has made a lot of centrosaurines, I'd like them to make wonderful chasmosaurines too.  I would be very happy to have a Chasmosaurus that's bigger than a mini figure.

6. Bistahieversor - The only good version of it is the Favorite museum exclusive version and I'd like to replace it with a better version by PNSO.

7. Pentaceratops sternbergii - A Pentaceratops by PNSO could be amazing!  It would also pair well with Bistahieversor and I'd like to replace my Favorite museum exclusive version which is quite dull.

8. Styxosaurus snowii - An elasmosaurid known from very complete remains, there is no figure version of it.  It could be PNSO's first plesiosauroid, something that is much-needed.  I'd love to have a long-necked plesiosauroid with smooth skin like the PNSO Kronosaurus.

9. Rhamphorhynchus muensteri - PNSO hasn't made any long-tailed pterosaur yet.  Rhamphorhynchus would be a splendid start.  I'd love to have a good figure of it, my favourite pterosaur, that was discovered almost 200 years ago.

10. Linheraptor - Another dromaeosaurid I'd like from PNSO.

11. Sinornithosaurus millenii - This could be superb!

12. Ceratosaurus nasicornis - This could be spectacular!

13. Giganotosaurus - There was a period where I was tired of this species because it was being made so often.  That is in the past now.  I'd like to have a good Giganotosaurus figure and I like PNSO's, but the paintjob on recent copies of it have become dreadful.  A Giganotosaurus by PNSO that is more accurate than their current version would be awesome!

14. Kentrosaurus - This could be striking!

15. Edmontonia - The only good versions of it are retired and I think PNSO could make a better version.

16. Stegosaurus - A brighter repaint of PNSO's museum line figure.

17. Plesiosuchus - Safari's is long retired and has a bad paintjob.

18. Edestus - PNSO's Helicoprion is very good, I'd like the freaky Edestus from them.

19. Anchiceratops - No good figure of it is available.

20. Scolosaurus - This is the ankylosaurid the armour of Euoplocephalus and Ankylosaurus has been based on in the past.  I think it would be nice to have a figure of this iconic species.

21. Euoplocephalus - An alternative to Scolosaurus.

22. Guanlong - The only good version of it is the retired Favorite museum exclusive figure.  I'm sure PNSO could make a Guanlong with better colouration.

Figures in the $20-30 price range again.  :P

Pliosaurking

Any of the following:

1. A pliosaurus, or really any pliosaur that has decent remains and hasn't been done to death. They are among my favourite types of animals ever so i love getting figures of them. And PNSO only made one pliosaur their kronosaurus.

2. Purussaurus as there is no figures of it widely available to my knowledge, which is surprising considering it's one of the largest crocodylomorphs ever. Any member of Thalattosuchia would also be very nice.

3. A Rauisuchian of some sort would be great, updated Postosuchus prehaps?

4. A Titanosaur of some type, maybe Argentinosaurus?

5. Giganotosaurus, as we haven't had many the past little while. And in my eyes doesn't really have a definitive version.

6. Lythronax and or Gorgosaurus.

7. Chasmosaurus, Anchiceratops, and Pentaceratops. 3 rather well know chasmosaurine ceratopsians that have few to no figures.

8. Utharaptor as once again it's very well known with no figures for some reason.

9. A Halszkaraptor or one of its relatives, as it's a very unique family of dinosaurs. Only issue is the size, maybe include them in a trio back or with a museum line figure?

10. A kentrosaurus as there's not really a difintive figure of it, and it's my personal favourite stegosaur.

11. A Euoplocephalus or edmontonia as there is hardly any figures of these 2, despite the, being rather well known.

Hopefully at least of these species gets made this year, best wishes to everyone in the new year!

avatar_Sim @Sim avatar_Pliosaurking @Pliosaurking  Aren't you happy with the BotM Utahraptor, Guanlong, Dilophosaurus & Linheraptor?

As to what I'd like:

Zhenyuanlong
Halszkaraptor
Anchiornis
Falcarius
Gallimimus
Maiasaura
Amargasaurus (updated)

avatar_Sim @Sim I would also like to see Dilophosaurus and Kentrosaurus!

Also, this wishlist of mine isn't specific to PNSO, I just want to see good figures of these from somebody.

As to what I'd like:

Yi
Zhenyuanlong

Anchiornis
Caihong
Falcarius
Gallimimus
Asfaltovenator
Gorgosaurus
Maiasaura
Brachylophosaurus
Saurolophus
Apatosaurus
Amargasaurus (updated)

I know there are already PNSO minis of Yi and Anchiornis, but I'd like bigger and more detaileversions of those. That Anchiornis also had proportion issues, so would be a good chance to fix that.

avatar_Sim @Sim I would also like to see Dilophosaurus, Pentaceratops, Kentrosaurus, Edmontonia, Anchiceratops, even if some of those have their BotM counterparts, just because said BotM are at a larger scale than I'd like (and more expensive to get over here than PNSO as well).

Also, this wishlist of mine isn't specific to PNSO, I just want to see good figures of these from somebody.

I'm happy with those figures, and I love BOTM, it's just I prefer 135 to 140 ish scale figures as opposed to 1:18 scale figures. I also prefer static models over articulated ones usually.
I will say however Botm is definitely up there for my favourite company to collect from. I've backed the Guanlong and I can't wait for that Utahraptor especially!

Lynx

Literally all I want from PNSO is a Utahraptor or 1:35 mini Velociraptor. That's it, I really don't care for much else.
An oversized house cat.

Faelrin

I'd like larger figures of both the Chasmosaurus and Ouranosaurus that have minis. Ouranosaurus would also display nicely with the recent Suchomimus as well. I also want to see them do Ceratosaurus. Saurolophus would be good to have for the existing Nemegt formation figures. Kentrosaurus is another with a mini only that should have a larger figure of it (then again it was one of the smaller stegosaurs out there and the mini probably scales better with the existing larger figures?). Edmontonia is another nodosaurid they could do, and long over due for a new figure from any company. Corythoraptor still has no figures on the market, and is a known from relatively complete remains. Other then the small Gigantoraptor, they have no figures of oviraptorosaurs currently. This one was shown in Prehistoric Planet (though I've wanted a figure of it since it was described in 2017), so maybe it might help its chances.

I still want some more minis (smaller species works better in this format). Some options:

PNSO has also been showcasing some artwork recently of marine and aquatic animals (like on instagram), such as from the Cambrian, etc, many which do not have figures (not even covered in the Life game), so I'd like to see some of those. I'm listing the ones they've done below (31/100 so far), and will probably expand upon this later on:

Carnoking

More abelisaurids! They've built out their ceratopsians, tyrannosaurs, and hadrosaurs quite well, and even have a decent amount of stegosaurids at this point. It's almost weird that Carnotaurus has been their only abelisaur to date (at least in the prehistoric animal/museum model range)

Carnoking

But speaking of the hadrosaurs, I'd love a saurolophus!

The BotM Utahraptor and Dilophosaurus technically haven't been shown yet, going by their Cyberzoic counterparts it looks like they will be excellent though.  Like Pliosaurking I prefer non-articulated figures (I tend to like articulated jaws though).  As nice as the BotM figures are sometimes I find the articulation on them to be too much, for example the body articulation and when the tail is split into parts.  This will apply to the BotM Dilophosaurus going by its concept art, while the Utahraptor and Linheraptor hide the articulation well.  Although I like them, I'd like non-action figure versions of them all.  As for the Guanlong, it looks very good but I dislike the bumps that were added to the front of its snout.  It's not impossible for it to have them but it just looks ugly to me, same as on the BotM Pentaceratops and Utahceratops.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, I like a lot of your choices for new PNSO mini figures!  I hope PNSO would make them without permanent bases this time.  I'd like to have Caihong, Caudipteryx, Coelophysis, Jianchangosaurus, Psittacosaurus, Scelidosaurus, Scutellosaurus, Shuvuuia, Sinornithosaurus and Zhenyuanlong.  Velociraptor and Deinonychus mini figures too.

One other animal I'd like from PNSO is Nothosaurus mirabilis.  They could make a stunning one!

On a somewhat different note, I typed "PNSO" into search engines and then added each letter of the alphabet one at a time to see what animals people have been searching for PNSO figures of (why else would one search for a PNSO animal after all?).  I was curious if people have been searching for PNSO figures of animals PNSO hasn't made yet.  Here's what I found:
On Youtube people have been searching for PNSO: Brachiosaurus, Deinonychus, Diplodocus, Edmontosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Ichthyosaurus, Velociraptor.  And Indoraptor :(.
On Google people have been searching for PNSO: Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, Edmontosaurus, Elasmosaurus, Utahraptor, Velociraptor.
On Google Images people have been searching for PNSO: Brachiosaurus, Dimetrodon, Edmontosaurus, mammoth, Velociraptor.

That would be great, especially if some of them were smaller animals. I don't really have much use for a sauropod at that size, but I love my Glyphoderma, Nemicolopterus, and Odontochelys.

I'm not much of a theropod fan, but I would definitely buy larger versions of their Indosuchus and Abelisaurus.

Yes please. PNSO recently posted these stills from a new book:

A few of those already have figures, but ALL of them SHOULD. Even, and I know this is wishful thinking, the sponges and worms.

I'd really like to see PNSO step up and finally make an accurate Dilophosaurus. Sure, there's the collectA one which is good, but it's not perfect and the paint job sucks.

The Safari isn't accurate enough or up to date, especially compare to the Collecta ?

Concavenator

avatar_SenSx @SenSx The Safari figure unfortunately turned outdated in 2020 (yeah, the same year it was due for). Check this paper if you want to know more.

The only up to date figures of it now are the CollectA and the upcoming BotM/Cyberzoic.

Fembrogon

As avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator said, the Safari figure released just a few months before the new 2020 paper dropped, so it doesn't reflect the new findings on the skull & crest.
It's a very good figure otherwise; but it would be nice to have more toys on the market reflecting the new research.
