Quote from: PrimevalRaptor on November 03, 2023, 05:04:43 PMHad a bit of a surprise today, stumbling upon the Battat/Terra Cryolophosaurus, never expected to see this one in person over here (the only time Terra stuff popped up here was a few years back and it was only the repaints), really happy about this since the Cryo was the model I wanted the most out of the new releases.

Let me guess: TK MAXX! Because that is where I found one, too.

They also had the Battat Carnotaurus, but sadly it was the electronic one.
Oh and plenty of the second Playmobil Dino Rise T.rex....
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

PrimevalRaptor

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor That's exactly it, they also had that electronic Carnotaurus, interesting how it's only those two apparently lol

Faelrin

Special thanks to both avatar_HappyHen @HappyHen and avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum for this one! This is a review sample generously sent by the former, for me to review here on the DinoToyBlog and I hope to have that up in the coming week(s - as energy permits with my chronic depression and fatigue).

Bonus pic of our cat Bob (F) who claimed the packaging paper no sooner then I removed it (she's sleeping on it atm):

Sweet, glad you got the Koolasuchus. Looking forward to your review! I would also like to read Bob's review of the box and packing paper.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Lol she has barely moved from the paper all day (except to eat, etc). That said I'm definitely ecstatic to give this one a go. It will be my first temnospondyl and amphibian. After this and the BotM Medusaceratops (which I'm hoping to finish tomorrow), it'll leave me one review left until I hit my 40th review for the blog. Wonder what I should go with for that one?

Just got my first Kaiyodo figure, courtesy of avatar_brettnj @brettnj . The Expo Zuul! Since this is an exclusive figure, I have posted additional pics in my collection thread if anyone's curious about it.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin congrats on getting that Koolasuchus!

Primeval12

My first Holonggood model. Honestly it's probably my favorite figure of 2023 unless I'm missing someone.

It also gave me an idea...

Spoiler

I liked the Meg and its sequel but this would be such a great film.

avatar_Primeval12 @Primeval12 That would be quite the film lol, but we might have to just have to settle for the wacky Maip stuff in Amazing Dinoworld 2 for the meantime (btw this year's Kaiyodo figure's design was based on it. Not the first time they did this either. Their Deinocheirus from a few years ago was based on the Deinocheirus design from the first Amazing Dinoworld, which GR recently did too).

Edit: Speaking of which, I love the memes that came out because of the ridiculous animation, like this one:

JimoAi

Shut up Meg is the best line for the Meg movies

Roselaar

Picked up a few lovely critters from Collecta and Papo at my local dino dealer's store.
Papo Kronosaurus is smaller than I thought it would be, while the Stegouros is a heck of a lot bigger!

JimoAi

My latest haul: Some collectA,a PNSO and some anthropomorphic cephalopods and a ray

CollectA: Thylacine, Attenborousaurus and Right whale.

PNSO: Alamosaurus

PrimevalRaptor

Had a very lucky encounter on a trip to get some new headphones, the Mattel Dakosaurus. Sure the Safari toob one I have is better in terms of accuracy but I'm always glad to find more marine reptiles out there and this one has one of the best paint schemes of the smaller Mattel figures imo (and reminds me a bit of something from Primeval, admittedly)
It's a shame the distribution for those smaller guys seems so screwed (I found this one at a drugstore of all places), I do hope the toy stores will stock them again next year cause I sure as heck wanna grab the Poposaurus.

Halichoeres

I know some people aren't satisfied with the size, but the PNSO Alamosaurus is plenty big!

avatar_Roselaar @Roselaar terrific CollectA haul!

avatar_Primeval12 @Primeval12 well that really does open up a universe of possibilities. The most suspenseful installment would no doubt be the one with Megalodictyon.

That's the one I want most, too!

Fembrogon

I had a BIG box day yesterday, mostly courtesy of avatar_brettnj @brettnj - a mix of extinct and extant animals. There was too much to catch in just a couple of photos, so I'll post the extant stuff over at the ATB.

Sega dinosaurs - lots and lots of Sega dinosaurs! I've been intrigued by this line for a while, and with this bunch I've acquired most of the ones I was interested in. The Spino is a duplicate, so it and the armored rex will probably get resold sometime.

An assortment of critters from Eikoh, Colorata, and De Agostini. It's been years since I got the 1st and 3rd Colorata dino sets, so this feels like an overdue acquisition. The Eikohs are very neat; and who would have guessed there was a rubber toy of Dryptosaurus out in the wild that's not entirely inaccurate??

As a bonus, my Haolonggood Dilophosaur pairs arrived from AliExpress the same day. From preliminary lookovers I'm already liking them a lot.

Gwangi

You're gonna have to review those SEGA figures for the blog avatar_Fembrogon @Fembrogon!

Faelrin

Congrats on the haul. Man those Eikoh figures are great. I might have to pick up that frilled lizard at some point. Would go nicely next to my Southlands Diprotodon and Thylacine (if not the plehtora of Mattel Jurassic Dilophosaurus figures). Aside from the extant figures, those were all the ones I got last year, and then some. Still have them on hand in one of my many boxes (as a result of living in a motel room for nearly a year now).

I've acquired the Haolonggood brown Megaraptor and yellow and blue Dilophosaurus pair!  I'm happy with both acquisitions!

SidB

A medium-sized box arrived at my door Friday past and the contents didn't disappoint -

HLG Dilophosaurus pair:

Though I definitely favor lips, their absence on this genus doesn't bother me. I'd always pictured it as depicted this way.

A comparison with Safari's version:

Then, HLG's marvelous speedster, their new Megaraptor. Love those imposing claws!

Chasing my CollectA Struthimimus flock -

At home with the Eofauna Giganotosaurus -

PNSO's Yangchuanosaurus magnus, probably Y. shangyouensis, with the previous release of their Y. shangyouensis, which I'm employing as a subadult.

The PNSO Yangchuanosaus line-up, all four -

Finally, the PNSO Zuul, compared with Safari's Dino Dana Zuul:

With the PNSO Pinacosaurus:

And PNSO's massive  Ankylosaurus:

Nice hauls, everyone! Keep up the good collecting work!

As for me, I don´t amass as much as I used to anymore, due to the lack of time and money. Still there are many interesting things on my bucket list, but I can wait patiently.

Funnily, today I found a neglected Invicta monochrome Diplodocus, a rare find on flea markets in Germany. The head was nibbled at and it was obviously freezing to death (so far it´s been a snowy winter here in Germany), so I had to adopt it of course.

Now it is watching over my writing process and is as stunned by the frontispiece as I am 8)
