That would actually be pretty good with a repainted face. Smart!
But I'm not much of a customiser x)

Becklespinax in hands.
Wow, this one's great!!
It's a shame the scroll wheel is so obvious, and I don't think that tail spike feature is really much use when the spines are so short... It's nicer on the Allosaurus too, because on that one, you just pop them up and down whenever you want, seperate from the jaws.
But the sculpt itself and the paint apps look fantastic. Painted claws! I'm glad to see that Mattel is committing to the sharp rubber teeth, it's way better looking than chunky blunt teeth.

Between that and the Hammond Collection dinosaurs having proportionate feet nowadays, it really feels like they're listening to fans finally.

Also, this is just flat out the best Carcharodontosaurid head they've done.
Does anyone think they'll do a show-accurate

They did quite well on it, probably the best one in the new line everything considered.

They need to do that one too. A bit surprised it isn't in the next wave when the rest of the new ones are (I think). Both it and the Pachyrhinosaurus are missing minis so far too. Last mainline one we got was in 2019. Then again we are still missing the CC Tarbosaurus, Smilodon, Angel & Rebel (Spinoceratops), and also Dominion's Oviraptor and Microceratus (other then a few minor variants like the JPIII Brachiosaurus, etc).

I can't find most of these online anywhere yet. I'm guessing June for most of them?

I imagine. It's when the new HC big ones are supposed to release, so hopefully soon. Really want the new Pachyrhinosaurus, and the Altispinax, er "Becklespinax". Boggles my mind BBTS had the roar assortment in stock already. Also the Guanlong, etc.

I also just realized the Pyroraptor has a more anatomically plausible head minus the lack of lips/mouth tissue. No teeth past the maxilla like on the film design (and post world raptors). Is it just me or are the primary feathers attached better on the HC figure then the film design? Definitely going to get two of this guy, with one to custom and the other to keep in its original state. Curious how it will play alongside David's BotM Utahraptor, Deinonychus, etc.

Edit: Appears the mainline sculpt has a similar placement in teeth to the HC figure.

Most were sold out when I saw the BBTS stock, just snagged the Para. Def want the Pachyrhino, Beckle, and a few others. I am starting to really be choosy though. I want only ones that have appeared in the media for the most part.

Ah... If I had known Mattel would re-release the Lystrosaurus in a pack I would've skipped on the Maise+Beta set. Welp, better safe than sorry with Mattel non-dinosaurs. God knows how hard it is to get most of their Permian-Triassic offerings; still hoping for an Edaphosaurus repaint in the future.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Hey if you want I can dock the amount for that Dominion set with it (though if I recall right, we did that with the minis right?) and keep the Lystrosaurus if you want this set? Or do you want two Lystrosaurus?

I'll try to check Walmart on my birthday and see if I can snag this set for us both.

I feel the same way but the Lystrosaurus is so good that I don't mind having another. Not missing out on the Guanlong, if I can help it.

I got to see the new Becklespinax in person in Smyths today, I'm not sure they're supposed to be on shelf quite this early... I would've asked about it, but I couldn't afford it anyway so decided not to.

I definitely gotta get one of these in the future, it's impressive in person. Really nice detail, and large size (Maybe too large, actually, It's a LOT bigger than in the show itself and real life- that's the opposite problem most JW dinosaurs have x) They're often smaller than the real thing...)

No word on the human figures being in the UK yet. If they do show up, I expect it'll be on Amazon or something.

I'm surprised they didn't give the Becklespinax the same treatment as the Allosaurus from a few years ago, the one with the switch on its back and the 3-stage roar.
Light spoilers for the reason why:

Spoiler
In the show, there's two Becklespinax, the greeen one with a red face as depicted on this released figure, and a brown one. A male and female pair? And that Allosaurus came in two colours, a blue one and a green one.

Becklespinax is thought to have been about 26 feet long.  As i understand it, the Mattel toy is 17 inches long, so that makes it pretty much spot on scale size-wise.  The tail is probably a bit too short so if it were the right length that would make the figure a bit larger than 1/18 scale but it's still pretty good in size.

Perhaps not as shown in the JW universe though.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I checked a Target and two walmarts today, nothing but the 50.00 Rex figure. My two and half year old cousin loved it though. Might get him one when it discounts. I didn't see one sold but the teeth growing feature was broken on two already.

Toys R Us Canada has the Legacy Diplodocus advertised, so it's coming to TRU, though probably not until Fall, like all the other big sauropod releases.

No price increase over the Mamench or Dread.

Oooh that would be great if possible regarding the Dominion Maisie set. I would keep two Lystrosaurus had Mattel at least given one of them a repaint, but I have no need for two copies of the same figure atm.

Smyths UK is stocking these new wild pack figures so it wouldn't be necessary to import them oversease thankfully, I'll try to pick up the Guanlong set myself. Thanks for the kind offer!

Faelrin

Oh good to hear they are getting them over there. Okay, I'll keep that Lystro too. No big. If I can get my hands on this set, I'll have a little herd of them lol. Also that reminds me I need to get a comparison pic asap with the Mattel, Captivz, and the Kaiyodo figure I dug out recently. I guess I'll do that after repacking your things.
