Mattel - New for 2024

The Kenner toy also has spikes coming straight down from the lower jaw like daggers, so I can't say I'm mad if Mattel deviates from that.

I do love that they have a QC control issue on display though. For all of the weird nitpicks people like Marco find about decos or details in blink-and-you'll-miss-it stills, the real problem with these toys is the flood of QC issues we see every release. That needs to be solved more than any proportion issues, canon accuracy, any of that crap. Product hitting shelves with upside down legs, missing body parts (one of my pyroraptors has no roof to its mouth!), or duplicate body parts are the things that ruin the toy immediately.

I shouldn't have to treat buying a $14.99 toy like Russian Roulette and be worried that my copy is going to have a blob of glue on one side of its face if I order it from Amazon.

A better pic of the upcoming HC Scutosaurus provided from V @Victoria's Cantina to Collect Jurassic:

Some pics of the upcoming Suchomimus from the Chaos Theory Suchomimus Protector Pack (I think, unless this is a different one), and a brand new upcoming HC Stygimoloch (which I'm so excited for). These pics were provided to Collect Jurassic by Jurassic Pedia:

Edit: Just a reminder that the Jimmey Buffett and Dimorphodon set are still available at Mattel Creations:

Underwhelming announcements from SDCC, to be honest.

Might look better than the mainline but I have no interest in HC Atrociraptors.
I don't really care about Scutosaurus as a species. As for the Stiggy, again, I'm fine with my original Attack Pack.

The smaller HC collection figures are usually not my cup of tea to be honest.

A new medium sized figure would have been a much more interesting reveal.

Carnoking

Super excited for the Scut and Stigy!
Did get my order in for Jimmy. Not the most exciting Exclusive but I just can't seem to help myself.

Giganotosaurus

I'm hyped for the Hammond Collection Atrociraptor and Stiggy figures!! I didn't realize that there'd be more figures announced after Wednesday, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear about Stiggy!!!!
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

Gwangi

I'm excited about the Stiggy, it's one I've been wanting since the line was launched. I don't have any mainline Stiggy figures.

I am satisfied.

I'm more interested in knowing when the Epic Damage stuff will appear on Walmart stores. I can't buy JW stuff online due to the QC issues regarding their eyes.

Mellow Stego

I can't wait for that Scutosaurus!
Keep calm and love dinosaurs

Also avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin if you have an update on my parcel of JW minis please let me know. It has been quite a while.

Easily Mattel's best rauisuchian to date, Rauisuchus itself!

Faelrin

Really need to get my hands on this one. I have nearly every pseudosuchian they've made so far. I also can't believe this is the first toy of this genus. Waited so long for this one (and Poposaurus too).

crazy8wizard

Oh wow it looks even better than the promo pictures!

SBell

I've noticed the Rauisuchus on Walmart Canada, which usually means in store in about a month... really looking forward to picking that one up.

And the new Scutosaurus. Need to have them all!

Primeval12

Now that's one pretty pseudosuchian! avatar_crazy8wizard @crazy8wizard pointed out that they NAILED the skull. I agree. Might be better than the Poposaurus!

andrewsaurus rex

looks like that Rauisuchus isn't house broken..

Halichoeres

Hasn't shown up here yet, but a definite buy when it does.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

I really like the sculpt quality lately, it's like they've been listening to complaints about proportions. We are seeing a general trend of smaller feet, smaller eyes, and sharper teeth with more space inbetween them. I understand that they have a certain style to follow, but I'm just really liking this more subdued approach to the anatomy, it genuinely looks a lot better.

And isn't that scale detail just lovely?

Mattel are really a gem right now. I keep forgetting there was a time where JP figures were nowhere to be found. Now, not only are they undoubtedly the biggest and most popular dinosaur line out there, but they are typically nice figures that are slowly but surely getting better with every new line's release.  (Although they do have missteps.)

I am also really surprised at the number of obscure or underdone genuses they tackle! I know that it's probably to make sales as parents buy their kids dinosaurs they don't have yet, but wow, it really is nice.

Has anyone noticed that the left leg isn't assembled correctly? The part attached to the foot there should be attached to the thigh (and vice versa).
