Never thought I hear myself say "I want a recur figure".

I hear myself saying that more and more lately.
However, as an occasional buyer of goofy and stupid looking figures I'm not too shocked by this.

Concavenator

As funny as the Therizinosaurus looks, we can't call it inaccurate.  ;)

Halichoeres

In the background of one of the photos in the first post, you can see a giant egg. Here are the contents:

Alphabetically, and with typos corrected:
Ankylosaurus
Baryonyx
Brachiosaurus
Carnotaurus
Compsognathus
Dilophosaurus
Dimorphodon
Diplocaulus
Diplodocus
Doedicurus
Giganotosaurus
Iguanodon
Lystrosaurus
Mosasaurus
Psittacosaurus
Spinosaurus
Stegosaurus
Styracosaurus
Therizinosaurus
Triceratops
Triceratops baby
Tupandactylus
Tyrannosaurus
Velociraptor
Yutyrannus

Some of them are a little derivative, but there are a few interesting ones among them. When was the last time somebody made Diplocaulus?

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres I think the last Diplocaulus was the bath bomb figure, if not the DeAgostini ones that came with those books. Or the Paleozoo one I guess.

Some pretty good species choices in here, and some of the sculpts are pretty decent on the science (such as the Spinosaurus, Tupandactylus, and Velociraptor).

Found some videos of the figures:

And some better images here (with some fun names like Bull Dragon, Thor Pterosaur, Salamander, and Star Tail Beast. Edit: How could I forgot Lguanodon lol?):

Seems to be sold on Taobao already, if not other Chinese retailers, like Toys R US China (though don't appear to be online yet). The above images I grabbed from one website called JD I think but I had to install Noscript and fiddle around some settings to prevent it from redirecting me to the create account/sign in page. I hope these come to the Amazon store, since I'd like to get my hands on one of these.

I can genuinely say this is one of the finest playsets I've seen in a long, long time. I often think about what might be a good present for children who are into dinosaurs and IMO this is perfect.

Now that I think about it, I like how nearly all of species included in this set are also in Ark as well (except Brachiosaurus, Psittacosaurus, Styracosaurus, and Velociraptor, though some of these are available as mods for the game, or skins that were previously available, which would swap the models out when equipped).

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin how could I forget the Nolcorp one?

I think it's funny when dinosaur playsets include cactus, especially saguaros, which have such a weird growth form even for cacti. You could hardly choose a less prehistoric plant. But hey, maybe it's just for the Doedicurus.

if those mimis are gashapon/Captivz sized, I'd love a little Compsognathus!

JimoAi

most of em are pretty good barring the bland color scheme.

Primeval12

I asked on Facebook when we can expect the models as they had been teased a lot lately. The mosa, trike, and brach will be coming out in September!

what abt the rex?

stargatedalek

Does anyone know where to buy Recur products?

Faelrin

Amazon I guess. Dejankins has some older models still in stock.

Lots of Chinese retailers have them though such as China Toys R Us, Taobao, JD, etc.

Strangely they have the new egg sets for farm animals and wildlife up on Amazon, but not the ocean or prehistoric ones yet. Oh and they are around $80 USD.

I noticed something similar when the diorama book sets released. They were $55 USD when first released and then dropped to about half of that a few weeks later. I wonder if it has something to do with import charges?

I'm curious about that Dilophosaurus. At a first glance, its proportions look pretty good, this could be the most accurate static Dilophosaurus figure. Looks like it's fairly big however, so in that case, I'm likely to just prefer the BotM overall.
But still curious about this Recur one. I don't know where to get Recur figures, either.

Faelrin

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator As far as I could find, the only western retailer that has them in stock is Amazon (other then Dejankins with some of their oldest models), but they are behind on a lot of figures, that seem to have only released in Chinese stores (online and in-store).

No idea if these have actually been released yet over there though. Last I saw was what they were planning for them to become available in early September on their Amazon store.
