Quote from: Sim on March 21, 2025, 10:44:55 PMavatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum, I wonder if it would be okay to change the rules so that a poll can be completed without a winners video?  That way the three polls that have been active for a long time now can be finished and fun new polls can be created?

Edit: I'm thinking of doing a ranking for the poll winners without a video.

Sure!

DinoToyForum

I could even twist my own arm into making a new video or two. Can you remind me where we got to with the videos, what's next in line?

Sounds good! :)  Next due for a video are the top 10 allosauroid, ceratopsoid and stegosaurian polls!

Okay, I'll see what I can do...  O:-)

avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum I still have the saved photos for a top 10 video for the allosauroid poll.  I'll email them to you in case that's helpful!

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, now that one of the active top 10 polls is complete, you can go ahead with making a new poll!  I remember you were interested in making a Paleozoic or prehistoric mammal/Cenozoic poll?

I'd love to do both tbh, but with the Creative Beast Andrewsarchus and Woolly Rhino not out yet I'd prefer holding off on a Cenozoic/prehistoric mammal one.

Would folks be interested in the Paleozoic one (excluding Dimetrodon or including)? I have a reference thread (which I need to update tbh). I'll link it here once I can get my laptop on.

Edit: The list is here (sorry for the delay):

Once the allosauroid and/or stegosaurian polls receive a winner's video or post, I'd like to do one or two more polls!  The topic for them would be Wild Safari figures (it's been over 5 years since their last poll), CollectA figures, PNSO figures or Haolonggood figures.  I think they would all make interesting polls.  Does anyone have a preference on which companies to make a poll or two for?

avatar_Sim @Sim I don't have any particular preference. Any of those I would be down with.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres That would be interesting. I would definitely vouch for the PNSO Parasaurolophus and Deinocheirus for such a poll, and others.

Edit: If I do the Paleozoic figure poll should I start a new thread for discussion/shortlist?

I've been thinking about this and I think it's a great idea!  I intend to make a poll for this after the allosauroid poll is complete.  avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum will a top 10 video for the allosauroid poll come soon, or should I go ahead with making a winner's post for it?

Sim

Now that making another top 10 poll is possible, there are four categories I'm interested in making top 10 polls for:

1. Megalosauroids.  There has been a spinosaurid poll over five years ago and many good new spinosaurid figures have been released since.  I'm curious what this forum's top 10 would be now.  I would include non-spinosaurid megalosauroids too as there isn't enough figures of them to make a separate poll for them...

2. Tyrannosaurus version 2!  I don't find the poll subject very interesting but I am intrigued about which Tyrannosaurus figures would be in the top 10 in a fight to almost death!  Interest by members in a second version of top 10 Tyrannosaurus figures has come up sometimes on this forum.

3. Dromaeosaurids and troodontids version 2!  It's been over five years since these groups had a top 10 poll for them and I'm interested in seeing a new top 10 for them, with newer figures and all the Creative Beast Studio figures included.  (The Creative Beast figures weren't included in the existing poll for these groups.)

4. Safari.  There has been a top 10 Wild Safari figures poll and a top 10 Carnegie Collection figures poll, both over five years ago.  I am curious about what the results of a new poll for Safari figures would be.  I wouldn't include Carnegie Collection figures in a new poll, but all (other) Safari figures could be included.

This one might be a reach for entries but it might be cool to do a top 10 figures based on museum displays. Plenty of Bullyland, a few Battat, and some PNSO figures would fit the bill nicely. I'm sure there's quite a few more too.

That sounds fun! Reminds me of the Lego ideas Barosaurus display thingie; would that qualify?

that's a great idea avatar_crazy8wizard @crazy8wizard ! Although, I think it would take lots of research to find other figures based on displays. Meanwhile, I'm most interested in megalosauroids, and safari ltd would be great too. The safari ltd top ten will probably be dominated by late 2000s and 10s carnegies :*D

I think it'd make sense to wait for PNSO's lipped Tyrannosaurus before making that poll. And if Showanna's next PVC figure is yet another T. rex (Stan), that's another pretty strong T. rex figure that's coming.
