Quote from: Fembrogon on April 18, 2025, 03:38:42 PMI haven't calculated myself yet, S @SidB; but back in July Shane estimated it was between 1:35 and 1:24, depending on maximum animal size.
Thanks, that's good enough.

Just got these in! Really happy to have a Columbian mammoth; that taxon is a bit of a celebrity around here but this is the first toy figure it's ever gotten. And, true to form, EoFauna have really done a great job with it! My copy has a bit of paint spillover on the base of one of its tusks, but that's an easy fix.

The Safari Megalosaurus is a real stunner, too! I'm used to Safari figures looking better in-hand than in photos, but this is an extreme case. Absolutely minuscule scale textures, and the even the teeth are exceptionally sharp and detailed. Plus, even though its tail works as an additional point of contact, you can see that mine doesn't strictly need it to stay upright, at least for now. Kieran [surname unknown to me] at Hellbender Museum sculpted this one, and I hope they get to do more for Safari in the future!

Excellent choices, avatar_Patrx @Patrx .The Mammoth is my favorite of the year, so far and the Mastodon isn't far behind. Of course, nobody does proboscidians like Eofauna. I was surprised by Safari's release of this Megalosaurus, pleasantly surprised at that. Very fine detail at the usual modest Safari price point. I too hope that this paleoartist does more sculpts for them - I guess that we, the consumers, will play a large part in that.

I also just got the Eofauna Columbian mammoth in. I missed the first batch that came in stock at Happy Hen Toys, but picked it up on the restock. Now I have a figure to display alongside the Wonder Artistic Models skeleton. Couldn't be happier with the figure; Eofauna reigns supreme when it comes to proboscideans.

I picked up the PNSO Lokiceratops while I was at it. Also a beautiful figure, and I'm very happy that PNSO is making ceratopsians again.
Check out my customs thread!

Haolonggood Rex 2.0 is in da house :  :)

I've acquired a Kaiyodo Sinosauropteryx... that I had repainted by Martin Garratt to have the known colouration of this species!  I like the Kaiyodo figure a lot and I thought it was a shame to not be able to enjoy it much due to having outdated colouration.  Now that I have it with accurate colouration it's perfect for me!  I'm very happy with it!

I've also acquired something big and feathered from Haolonggood...  The Quetzalcoatlus!  I like it the most out of all available Quetzalcoatlus figures.  The only unfortunate thing for me is the loose articulated jaw...  I can't keep its mouth closed when it's standing up, but it's fine for now since I like it with the mouth open.

And lastly I've acquired the Safari Leptoceratops.  I like the figure and it scales well with many other figures I have, but I'll need to get it repainted as I dislike its colouration, the older Wild Safari figures have gaudy colourations that I don't like and this is one of them.

avatar_Sim @Sim I'd love to see the new paint job on that Sinosauropteryx.

Does Martin Garratt still do commissions? I had the impression he no longer did. Would you be able to share his contact info with me?

Same!
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

If things allow it I'll take a photo of the Sinosauropteryx tomorrow. :)

avatar_Elengassen @Elengassen, Martin Garratt does still do commissions.  He's done some other, minor, customisations for me, including removing a couple of fins on the Safari Orthacanthus so it no longer has the inaccurate paired terminal fins.  The costs for the customisations have been very low too.  Contact with Martin is always indirect through his assistant Marilyn, but it works perfectly.  I'll ask Marilyn if I can pass on her email to you!

My BotM haul from over the past few weeks:

Here's the Psittacosaurus and Protoceratops h with the original 1/18 Velociraptor and Protoceratops a. Just missing the Linheraptor and original goshawk Dromaeosaurus now. Got the bottom two from Legions Con back in 23. So glad to have these two finally (in addition to the others).

That Atopodentatus is so cute!

Received my new Timpo Tyrannosaurus today. As you see, one leg and one arm is missing, but you know what? That is what I like: Figures with history which don“t have to be perfect and which I can give a new home ^-^

Scored very big on the King's Day flea merkets this year! Lot of JP/JW figures and many more other dinosaur toys, not to mention DVDs and even a vintage Gi Joe X30 fighter plane on good condition. It's going to be a challenge to find space for all of these!

Jesus Christ :-[ If that is an average flea market haul,  I'd like to move to the Netherlands :))

My TNG Megatherium just arrived. Lovely model, couldn't be happier! Finally a proper, big and hefty representation of this species.

I've been eyeing that for a while, it looks great! Would you happen to be able to find out what scale it's in?

Haha, it's not. This only happens once a year. And even by King's Day standards, this haul is huge! ;)

Totally worth it in my opinion! Will take a look at the scale tomorrow.

SenSx

I think it was said to be about 1/35 scale, but wait and see for more mesurements.
I'll wait for the Paraceratherium release to get both I believe.
