Pachyrhinosaurus

I was excited for the tiger raptor but not anymore after seeing those loose shots. It actually would have been better to have fewer stripes. And I think it should be a bit more reddish. It doesn't really capture the feeling of the TLW raptors IMO. Though the proportions are better than the raptors we've gotten so far. Maybe I'll pick up the '97 repaint of the original instead.

Honestly I'm really liking it other than the teeth being fused to the tongue, I don't get why they changed what they did with Delta, that looked perfect
But whatever, this figure is small so maybe it won't look bad

HC Stigymoloch has started to appear at Target;

I think that the Amber Collection version was better in terms of sculpt and paint work.The stripes should be sparse rather than this much on the body. The Nanmu Smart Series offering is a better alternative and closer to the screen counterpart.

Anyone know how tall the AA Quetz is when posed perched on the ground?

Faelrin

Agreed on Nanmu's being better. The HC here has way too sloppy painting/paint bleed on the stripes, and the lack of belly paint is another result of cost cutting, which is unfortunate. Gonna pass on this one.

Though they weren't intended as such I think, I did like those orange Camp Cretaceous raptors we got. Not the correct striping either, but maybe a tad bit closer (excluding no paint on legs and arms)? Has the better film accurate head sculpt too. The paint variation almost works as the female in that film. Below pic is mine taken for the DTC site.

Hammond Collection just can't get the raptors right for whatever reason, and the glass eyes makes it worse (should've never put them on smaller figures).

The only HC raptors I own are the JP3 ones. I still use that orange Camp Cretaceus raptor as my TLW raptor, and it seems it will stay that way for a while.

The glass eyes on the Scutosaurus are perfection, I never saw a pair of eyes on a figure that looks so alive before

For me, it's the Carnotaurus.

It's a shame that even the basic one from the Isla Sorna Expedition Pack's striping is closer to the screen counterpart than the HC version (albeit no stripes on arms, legs and tail and painted underside and claws);

I have some understanding that Mattel and Nanmu are on different levels, but the Hammond Collection line is still a "more premium, collector's line".

As cool as these are, it feels like they are replacing the previous style of minis, maybe? I kind of hope these are just their own thing, separate, but nice to have in addition. I know there's another wave of minis supposedly releasing this year, that's Chaos Theory themed, but no Rebirth designs yet in it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what next year brings. A bit of a complicated year, as we have both Chaos Theory Season 3 (which I'm behind on finishing), the new film, and I think Season 4 as well.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Then why would they pack a Dilophosaurus mini in with the Mosasaurus? I know that it's one of the older style dilos from Fallen Kingdom, but still

I wouldn't count out minis yet, maybe they are also waiting until the movie is out to reveal them because they may have spoiler species included.

And by the way, wave 1 of the Rebirth figures is now out in the UK including the Power Devour T. rex and D. rex.

Still no sign of the Lab Lockdown rex or the Spinosaurus human pack.

The regular Minis seem to at least appear in packs with Matchbox cars:

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor Those minis have been around since Dominion. I have the sets they are in up on the DTC.

avatar_Dilopho @Dilopho That's a good point, but most have been spoiled by now. That said a pack or new Advent Calendar would be good to see, like the previous ones. I did forget about the Dilophosaurus mini with the Mosasaurus, which is such an oddball inclusion to begin with.

We nearly got all the film species in the new scale (minus some CC ones), that was released alongside Dominion which is why I'm hoping it continues next year (or later this year). Still got the Suchomimus etc wave to release too.

Prehistory Resurrection

Blade-of-the-Moon

Well after hearing how new stuff was popping up at Target and Walmart I headed out this morning to look around. Target had only six Eotriceratops. First walmart nothing. 2nd walmart I thought  I scored big time. 5 Quetz, 2 DRex, 2 Mosas, several TRexes whose box of Captivz eggs, Lani and Edmontonia. Even the little mini figure diorama sets.  I put them in my cart and my aunt wandered off around the corner with it an while I was looking at the mini sets this employee runs up and takes it out of my hands yelling at me I can't have it.  I said it's on the shelf and there are price tags? She says not til June 2nd.  I said ok and walked off figuring it would be best to you know..not put them out til then?

I had one of each in the cart already and figured I might as well try the cashier. First the Rex, nope it's been recalled can't sell it. Next the Quetz ( Walmart still hasn't delivered my order of them ) nope, recalled. Then the rest followed suite, all recalled have to be sent back or destroyed. I tried to tell her to double check, they might be street dated not recalled.  She said the message it showed her meant it was a recalled product. So..I have no idea. The Lani and Edmontonia did work though so not a total loss.

Faelrin

Probably prior to the street date which seems to be after June 1st. Doubt it was recalled. I imagine Mattel would have it on their website if that was the case? Last recall was posted in April for some Fisher Price stuff. Not sure how Walmarts system flags stuff like that. Might be why they thought it was recalled. Regardless somebody didn't do their job as it shouldn't be out before the street date, and of course it's the consumers that have to be told no.

I kept insisting it was probably a computer error but more like an employee error. From what I understood it didn't actually say "recalled" it said something they attribute/understand to be recalls. It's weird I'm at this store every single week and say hi! to 50% of the employees.  They Definitely should have had it kept in the back just to avoid issues like this though.  I recall it used to be if it's on the floor it's for sale. There were even tags.  Ah well I'm not so much worried about it as I wanted to share what might happen if anyone else gives it a go.

Cretaceous Crab

I just want that Dreadnoughtus mini!!!  :||  In my neck of the woods (along the Gulf Coast), it's been slim pickings in the JW section of the toys at Walmart.
