so  is that the last of the 2014 models?

Dan

They will continue to reveal the rest in the same gradual fashion. More exciting this way, isn't it?

Wait and see is all we at Everything Dinosaur is prepared to say for the moment.  As for colouration on the Xenoceratops these are the thoughts of Anthony Beeson, the desginer: "Hope you like my colour scheme. I wanted to make a striking ceratopsian colour scheme using as few natural colours as possible. I wanted to show that black and white could look just as striking on a shelf as multicolours."

We have been working on the impact of colour vision on the potential colouration of herbivorous dinosaurs and contrasting this to the colouration of African species that largely have to contend with predators that lack full colour pallette.

Forgot to post up the dimensions for the Collecta Xenoceratops: it measures approximately 15cm long (5.75 inches) and it stands 6.5cm  (about 2.5 inches) high at the hips.

amargasaurus cazaui

I am very fond of the Xenoceratops, I will be getting a pair of these for my ceatopsian shelf.

My favourite model from 2014 collecta along with Carcharodontosaurus. The colours are just awesome!

Nice zebra pattern on the Xeno. I'm probably not going to get it though, I'm not keen on CollectA's ceratopsians. Great job on the colouration though, Mr Beeson.

This Xenoceratops is very cool, by far their best ceratopsian yet. I will get this one for sure. However, the beak seems off :-\.

The Xenoceratops is in a natural pose, so they would look good as a pair.

I might have to touch up the face a bit adding more black hues to make it  appear slightly less 'striking', though (especially, the wound-like red bits) ...great model, overall. I hope they have more ceratopsian, pterosaur, and marine reptile surprises in 2014.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I think this one might be their best ceratopsian figure to date..the 1:15 Trike coming a close second.

Roselaar

Xenoceratops looks pretty good. Not overly fond of the paint job, but at least it's very different from the other Ceratopsians.

ED, do you think you could update your first post in this thread with the new models as they're revealed?

Concavenator

Pfff...the Xenoceratops is so awesome... I love it<3
Love the sculpt, the paint job.You can't say that figure isn't unique right?  ;)

Megalosaurus

I like the Xeno sculpt, but not the paintjob.

Not deluxe? :(  I like my models to be 1:40 / 1:35 . What aprox. scale is this figure?

All their previous ceratopsians (Utahceratops, Diabloceratops, Kosmoceratops etc) weren't particularly large either.

I have their Utahceratops and was thinking of getting CollectA's other ceratopsian models, as well (maybe next year). While the Utahceratops is a nice model, in and of itself, I found the figure looking rather odd when juxtaposed next to my Safari and Papo ceratopsians. In particular, the girth or width of the figure appears too narrow. Anyone else feel the same way about the Utahceratops?

Balaur

I love that Xenoceratops! On my wish list now!

Seijun

I really like it until it gets to the beak, then all I can think of are cuttlefish beaks. It looks like they put the jaw hinge in the middle of the jaw instead of at the back.

My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!
