"Ascent of Man" by Safari

Ammonite by Safari

New 2014 Carnegie Anniversary Tyrannosaurus

Well they not look bad.
I dont know why but Safari have better detail in skin than carnegie. The t-rex looks great and I like the colour pattern but the detail in skin is different from Safaris one.
And the other figures that will be announced: I hope to see a dromeosaurid
If we post all 2014 releases in one thread?

Concavenator

*Yay Carnegie has started to announced their models! *  :)
The new Tyrannosaurus is very nice.I didn't think that this Tyrannosaurus was going to be a tripod. The original anniversary rex is better in the pose adpect, but not in the sculpt.I don't mind green on dinosaurs figures IF it's not dark green (like the origianl Papo Tyrannosaurus) and not in all figures. This new Tyrannosaurus looks nice.

I thing its Arceopteryx

Safari hinted that they were making one soon.  I think this is it.

I could be wrong though
It can't be Archaeopteryx because Carnegie's 2014 releases are resculpts from old ones, and Safari has never done an Archaeopteryx. We know this since last year  :)

Wow. Impressed and disappointed with that rex.    The tail seems to short, but it could be the angle plus the colors.

STOP WITH THE BEIGE COLORING Mrs. Rogers

BTW are those cavemen and a part of the wild safari line? or something else

same goes for the Ammonite

The Rex looks prety awesome til you get to the legs. They're a bit stiff..and the tail does look short but I'm guessing it's off to the side which is why..so yeah it's the angle I think.

I'm pretty sure I know where I saw this pose before :

BTW Forest Rogers has nothing to do with the coloring..blame Carnegie/Safari for that. Though it's easily re-paintable.

Dan didn't mention the cavepeople and the Ammonite ( which is cool ) as being Carnegie/Safari..only Safari so they probably are WS or another line like the Luis Rey Oviraptor was.

So there isn't two Carnegie/Safari pieces this year ?
This morning I read 'wow that trex is awesome. And when I saw that I almost had a heart attack!  ;D LOL
And I want that ammonite too.I have an ammonite real fossil,so it'll be interesting getting the figure

Oh,and I can't wait for that feathered dino.  :D What excited!!

Splonkadumpocus

Oh yes, forgot the "no new taxa" statement.

In that case, it's probably going to be Velociraptor.

I keep looking at the new Tyrannosaurus and seeing a weird optical illusion..

That cloud/rock/whatever shape on the horizon looks like a slightly larger, deformed arm. Can't unsee :o

The head don't look too bad

Blade-of-the-Moon

The head looks spot on to me :

Actually from that pic it looks like an outstanding piece.  I'm hoping the angle is making the tail look so thin and when viewed from others it will be nice and thick as it should be.   The tail doesn't appear to be touching the ground either BTW...though it's likely it might rest on it in the final figure and over time.  Looking at the closeup of the head I see a lot of color but none of it's green. There is red, black, dark brown, a lighter sandstone brown, the white of the belly and a lichen-like yellow pattern. Looks good to me..subtle and not too bold..just like the current Carnegie pieces..hopefully it looks just like that in final production.

Megalosaurus

O.K. I'm happy to see the firsts carnegies'14 pics.

T-Rex looks good, but as someone has stated: the legs look strange, the tail is also somehow thin, and the texture seems to be too soft (but we need better pics to judge).

Ammonite is welcome but the colors are so boring (fossil like). Safari needs to look at the Nautilus colors, or even at the iridicense (or opalesence) of some ammonite shells.

No offense but I'm not interested at all in Ascent of Man. Cryptid toob is more interesting to me.

As for WildSafaris:

Megalodon =  *yuck* Just a great white shark (and not the better out there by the way).

Pachyrhino =  ;D The best of the bunch. I'll get it.

Sucho and Monolopho look good but i don't like the texture (too big scales that seems stamped, so lazy and uninspired). The sucho pose... haven't we see that position in other spinosaurids? Still an improvement over the old one. Not sure if i'll buy them.

The artist who created these pieces for the WS line is a member her and he assures us there is no texture stamping going on if I recall correctly.  When an artist does use texture stamping it's often to produce something for the price the client has paid. You are entitled to your opinion I just wanted to shed some light from an artist's perspective.

The Sucho , even if the pose has been done, is a 110% improvement over this thing :

I agree. Are they making a cryptid toob? Has it been announced? That'd be awesome.

Takama

everything dinosaur announced it.

Includes Nessie, and a Yeti.  Not sure what the rest are.

Blade - you can tell the WS sculptor that he is better than Forrest Rodgers and that I for one wish that he was the Carnegie sculptor too!

Yes I agree that it is an outstanding piece detail and bulk-wise, but the pose is what is abominable ...

I am sure that Paleoferrequine will be able to fix his, but those of us without the time or talent will just have to take a pass on it ....

Not overwhelmed by these new Safari/Carnegie releases. What has happened to the Carnegie line? It used to be a prestigious line, but in recent years it has become dull, especially in terms of output. If the 25th anniversary is celebrated only with another T-Rex, and there's only one other new piece to accompany it, you know a line won't make it much longer...

The -Rex is okay, but not great. The Hominids are just not very good. I do like the Ammonite though.

You think the Carnegie line is going to go extinct? I really hope not :(
