Nice, on Safari Ltd.'s facebook site they say the retired Carnegie Styracosaurus is 'due for a comeback sometime'. I would welcome it. Maybe next year? :-)

I don't think they ever said why it was retired in the first place. It didn't seem like it was out all that long.

Y'know, I think that Safari should dump that Megalodon ( no offense to anybody) and do a nice and bizzarre Helicoprion. I can already invision it-- slender and smooth, pointed snout, mouth wide ajar! Oh, that would be awesome!  ;D What is your guy's opinion? ???
like a bantha!

alexeratops

Oh, and maybe a base and pole for the Helicoprion so it wuld look like those Kinto/ Favorite dinos?
like a bantha!

Takama

helicorprions were found to be chimeras instead of sharks.

brandem

but Helicoprion was a very sharky ratfish, so the term isn't unfair I think

alexeratops

But seriously, do you guys like that idea?
like a bantha!

point being it would be a lot more different and unique than the current Meg. So I would probably buy it.

Well,I guess that any other prehistoric fish would have looked hundreds of times better that Megalodon. If Safari won't do changes of it,I just won't get it.
I would find Helicoprion cool,I guess.

Sorry, but no I can't say that I like the idea.I can understand you skipping it if you don't like it,but all of you don't need to make that decision for me by trying to see to it that it's not available to anyone at all.
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

I don't get what you're saying here.  ???

That T.rex is good, not awesome as I would expect! Hell, that tripod pose is getting on my nerves! This T.rex could have been a masterpiece...

Simon

That TRex now becomes by "Exhibit A" as to why I stopped collecting Carnegies.

On the plus side, it looks quite accurate, and the legs no longer resemble those of a starving animal (refer to the Carnegie Giganotosaurus for just one example).

However, precisely BECAUSE the model is so well sculpted the "Tripod" style looks even MORE abominable than is usual with Carnegie's theropods.

I could stomach it on inferior sculpts like the Giga., Carnotaurus and that Antarctic theropod whose name escapes me at the moment - but to ruin this otherwise beautiful sculpt is beyond the pale.

Carnegie should probably go the Schleich route and just make play toys instead of trying to "split the difference" as they do here.

And the shame is that the figure COULD have been properly balanced.  Now its laying eggs (or doing #2) like the original Papo TRex.

Gryphoceratops

Ugh did Carnegie really need to do another T. rex?  The second one wasn't that bad and if they REALLY wanted to do another one so badly they could have put feathers on there.  That way it at least would have been a bit more different.

I really wish they would give the tripod-side-necked-theropods a rest for a year.  Just one year.  The last one by them I really truly liked was the Miragaia.

Takama

Wow. Impressed and disappointed with that rex.    The tail seems to short, but it could be the angle plus the colors.

STOP WITH THE BEIGE COLORING Mrs. Rogers

BTW are those cavemen and a part of the wild safari line? or something else

same goes for the Ammonite

New 2014 Carnegie Anniversary Tyrannosaurus

I distinctly remember saying that it was highly unlikely that the 25th anniversary Carnegie Collection model would be Tyrannosaurus...Blade of the Moon, you were RIGHT!!! :)
I must say,I LOVE THIS TYRANNOSAURUS TOY,err... I mean SCALE REPLICA!!! I hope no one else on this forum likes it so I won't have to worry about them picking it up before me!!! ;D
