Super hero stuff is all over the place too, especially Avangers. I swear, half of the shirts at Wal-Mart are Avengers shirts...not a single JW shirt, despite financially being a bigger success. Target does have JW blankets and bed sheets though, so for those interested keep an eye out for that. Maybe they're scrambling to get some more merchandize now that they know the movie did so well but I'm doubtful. Just get a shirt on those shelves already, or a baseball cap!

Right, missed naming them, but oh yeah Avengers stuff is also everywhere. I dug through a lot of Avengers pieces looking for the JW ones...and a ton of Frozen stuff..when did that movie come out again?

I was considering getting the JW comforter at Target when it's restocked..one review I read says it doesn't wash well though. Anyone else have one?

Walmart had a JP shirt but that was all I saw today.

Here's a quote from a member on JPT and JPL, he's a manger at Target :
QuoteI'm a manager for Target here in Southern California. Some of you might recognize my username from Jurassic Park legacy where i was an admin/moderator. Anyway, Indeed we are clearancing out product to make room for new items. August 2nd is our reset for the toy department. It's our biggest reset in 2 years, so a lot of toy lines will be gaining or losing space in each aisle. Jurassic World product is definitely light due to a lack of supply from Hasbro. Last truck day, only one box of the raptor squad came off the truck, and that was it. It's horrible. My store never received wave 2 of the growlers, or the Mosasaur pack. Distribution on hasbro's part sucks. I bought a S&S Rex when I saw them come in. Each store has only gotten one case of 2 as far as So Cal is concerned. Right out of the box, the Rexes have their necks peeling away from the body. I'm surprised their arms were not at the bottom of the cases. Lol

Going back to clearance, those items were discontinued prior to going clearance. Discontinued by target, not the manufacturer Hasbro. If an item doesn't sell well, it gets set back to the manufacturer, or gets sent to stores such as Marshall's, Ross, etc. You've seen this with the Allosaurus and Pachyrhino right now.

I haven't yet checked how Jurassic World will look in aisle come August 2nd, but if you remember the giant 3 sided JW focal endcap at Target, Jurassic World toys will be return there, however, this time sharing the endcap with Minions on one side, and Avengers on the other.

Jeeze, that's tragic. But if their reset is on August 2nd it should mean the new Battat toys will be put out for good and easier to obtain so at least there is that. Hasbro really has no business making JP toys. Am I correct is saying that they don't even make vehicles or characters? How is a kids supposed to play with Owen and his raptor squad without Owen? I was really hoping to find the Mososaur pack but I ain't gonna hold my breath. And I can't believe that the Allosaurus and Pachyrhino don't sell well, those are certainly the best Hasbro has probably ever produced for the JP line. I haven't seen them anywhere though. Yeah, I really do miss 1993 sometimes. Or 1997, TLW had pretty good exposure.

Blade-of-the-Moon

For this line, not really, there was a standard looking tiny human with the Gyro, mini sub, and copter sets..but not much connected to the film..they even turned the Gyro into a weapon. I can't believe there was no Owen/bike set with Raptor Squad figures..talk about a huge missed opportunity.  There were Starlord figures for GotG so I'm not sure why they skipped them.  Probably some exec rational like " Dinosaur movie? Why are bother with people/vehicles? ".   I haven't seen the Mosa myself..scalpers are blowing it up on eBay right now though.  Oh yeah those were a great bit of nostalgia and really gave us hope for the JW line...somehow we were kicked to the curb instead. :/  I still hope we see the Carnotaurus and Stego released as well at some point.

Well, that gives them enough time to find someone other than Hasbro to make the toy tie-ins, doesn't it?

Yep, Pachyrhinosaurus, just saw this too in this article from Variety today...

JURASSIC WORLD 2 -- June 22, 2018!

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/jurassic-world-sequel-to-hit-theaters-in-2018-1201547139/

I didn't realize that it hasn't opened yet in the Japan, which will be on August 5th. If it does well there, which I'm sure it will, it actually has a chance to overtake the second highest grossing film, Titanic, which is just over $2 billion. However, I don't think it has a realistic chance to beat Avatar's numbers, which are nearly $2.8 billion. But you never know. There are a lot of people in Japan! ;)

You guys beat me to it, I was just about to post the LA Times article about the sequel. Is it bad that I'm already feeling impatient about a three year wait?

Sad as it sounds, I think Universal is happy with Hasbro producing their toys. From our perspective the toys are awful but at the end of the day it's about making green, for them. Hasbro is one of the wealthiest and most well known toy manufacturers in the world. Why would they not want to take advantage of that?

stargatedalek

Exactly, I kind of doubt Universal gets paid by percent, I would assume Hasbro pays for the license outright. Thus it falls entirely on Hasbro when they fail.

Darker is certainly the route we're going down.  Don't forget we actually had dinosaurs being shot and blown up in this film..something never done in any of the previous ones..felt like sort of a line they never crossed.

Speaking of shooting dinosaurs while a lot of people here were groaning about scientific inaccuracies the moment that made me groan was when the guy with the bazooka couldn't hit the 40 plus foot Indominus rex at close range but he could nail the 9 foot long raptor that was giving Owen a loving look dead on from the distance of a football field or more! But that's showbiz.

During that scene where Owen and the mercenaries are all just sitting there watching the Freakosaurus stare down the raptors, it took all my effort to keep from shouting out, "SHOOT ALREADY! JUST SHOOT THEM ALL!"

Thank you, I was starting to feel ignored. :-\ Actually would have been even better to yell in your best Muldoon voice "SHOOT HER, SHOOT HER!"

How interesting......   Especially the release date and year.  I'm going to be ecstatic that year too!  Especially since another favorite of mine will be out a few weeks beforehand...    :o

This will be the first Jurassic Park film I won't own. I watched it a second time recently (online streaming) to give it a second chance with a bit of emotional distance, but it was an unenjoyable experience for me again, if not a little worse. :-[ It is a source or great bemusement to me how so many get so much out of this flick, which to me seems lacking in many crucial ways. However, I feel this way about a lot of modern Hollywood cinema, so just ignore my curmudgeonly moaning and enjoy the DVD/bluray.

I feel the exact same way, dude. You are not alone.

I didn't enjoy it as much as the first, but that's to be expected. Still about as good as the LW and JP3..maybe a bit better with more pacing.

I'll pick up the limited edition I think..still waiting to see all the details. Amazon says it's a 1 disc set, but has three discs in the description?

I have the same view regarding those who enjoyed JP3 and to a lesser extent, TLW.
