Bigger than I expected! Not that that's a bad thing, at all. :)

New package art for Wetlands accessory pack and Buitreraptor!

stargatedalek

If I only get one (which may end up being the case) it will definitely be that one. No offense to poor little Buitreraptor but it's "generic" enough to pass for basically any dromaeosaur I need it to. Plus gallinules, everyone needs more gallinules.

Faelrin

That artwork reminds me of older paleoart I've seen. Really does look like a step into an ancient and foreign lost world. That Buitreraptor also looks like it could make for a good smaller companion for the Acheroraptor, if only because of the similar coloration.

The new lips just made that blue exclusive Velociraptor (and the original) get a whole lot nicer for me. Well, in a mental image way of course. I also just now noticed the eggs/nest in the wetlands package art. That's some nice incorporation of that egg cluster accessory into the art. Wonder if the other art for the other packs will incorporate eggs/nests too since its supposed to be a shared accessory the packs (according to the concept art anyways), but too early to tell of course.

That updated Velociraptor head looks so good! :D

Back when I expressed my concern to David about some of the raptor figures lacking lips while others had them, I didn't know what to expect.  I'm glad that like me, many people including David, wanted all the raptors to have lips, which is what led to that happening.

It's been a long time since then, during which I've been enthusiastically looking forward to seeing the updated lipped Velociraptor head.  Now, after all the other main raptor parts have been revealed, it's back to the first raptor David did for this series.  The new Velociraptor head looks really nice!  It's so Velociraptor!

Seeing the new Velociraptor head makes me glad I asked David about some of the raptors not having lips.  I like this new head so much more than the old lipless one.  I think it looks more natural and realistic.  Looking at that set of photos showing different angles of the new Velociraptor head, I feel this is the closest I've gotten to seeing a living Velociraptor!

David has been so nice going back and making this new head for Velociraptor.  I think it looks much better than the old lipless one.

Group shot of all 16 regular sized 'raptor' figures.

so dromaeosaurus is the only one with a base that matches the mountain accessory pack? thanks kind of odd. Maybe the raptor bases aren't really meant to match the accessory packs then?

Pyroraptor's colors remind me of lava.

Faelrin

The mountain pack base isn't going to be just snowy, though it may have a bit of snow. The environment image preview on the concept art for the pack also shows an earthy brown rocky color. At JerseyFest I asked him if the bases of the raptors would match the bases from the packs, and from what it sounded like, he would be incorporating colors from the appropriate raptor's bases for the new bases for their respective environment pack. For example, the mountain pack may use colors from both the fan vote variant (some of the lush green from its base for instance) and normal/winter Dromaeosaurus (and some snow).

The mountain pack was the one I specifically asked about as I am interested in that and both the regular and fan vote Dromaeosaurus (although I am also leaning towards the wetlands pack now as well, because of those ferns and horsetails, and bit of water). I forgot to mention this when I first posted about my trip there, as I did come back from a busy weekend. Of course its probably too early to tell if they will still be designed this way. The best we can do for now is wait and see, or perhaps make suggestions regarding the coloration, or ask him. I think I will ask if there will be colored concept art down the road for the packs, though getting them made is probably a more important priority. Having that though may help to clear up confusion regarding them.

I have finally made my decision.
I will allow myself to purchase 3-4 products.
Figures: Velociraptor m. Zhenyuanlong
The final slot will be between Wetlands accessory pack and Balaur.
Phew... That was tough.  ;D

oh thanks for the info! I was wondering why the regular version dromaeosaurus is the only one with a snowy base. I was trying to figure out which raptor fit which base but it will probably be easier once we see the finished prototypes or maybe some color artwork/concept art as you said.
