I wonder if any of them are actually selling for that much.

After 2 long years, so much for being "Limited Edition" ::)

I noticed that Papo figures are difficult to acquire once retired. I missed out on the gharial last year and it took over a year to find one at a reasonable price and it was only retired last year. Compare that to Schleich or Safari, which are usually available for a while afterwards.

That price is disproportionate for that figure that is miniscule in size and relatively recent. Nor do I understand why that figure is so expensive. It is not a figure of Battat for example.

dragon53

Any rumors about Papo releases for 2022?

Shonisaurus

Unfortunately we still don't know anything. And unfortunately the megalodon and the smilodon puppy that I have ordered in Alcaiceria are not yet commercialized. I don't know what Papo expects to commercialize his figures. I think they have suffered a very strong economic and commercial crisis as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

That must be the cause of the delay of their figures and that they do not speak of news.

SHONISAURUS:

Thanks for the info.
I would like to see Papo release a bigger Apatosaurus.

D @dragon53 Eye! what I comment is an assumption of mine, do not take it at face value. Unfortunately, I know as much about what happens to Papo as you do, regarding the fact that in the future, if it is not what I fear regarding Papo and everything is going smoothly, in my case I would also like them to do a apatosaurus of a size and volume at least equal to or greater than its iconic spinosaurus limited version.

Last week i finally got to a Store here in Germany (Müller), where they sold Schleich and Papo offline. This is something i never saw before (Museeums are something else). Of course the Prices were ridiculus high :D. But mostly i was a bit shocked in how MUCH the same Figures differ in Quality and Paintwork. I just have a few Papos, but they had the standard Paporooster. There were 4 Acros and everyone looked different. All of them looked different then mine at home. Handpainted, of course, but still this was weird. What a lottery game. I wish i could just buy every Figure with having the opportunity of holding it in my Hands first.

There was also a single Papo Brachiosaurus for almost 50 Euros. Wow. Wat. :D

50 Euros -wow! I'm remembering that I picked up a mint quality one for $3.99 Canadian last year, then turned around and gave it to a friend. No regrets though.

I bought my first Papos in 2006, and I still have them. They will always have a special place in my collection because their detail was superb, at that time there were few figures so detailed, though inaccurate.

And above all, there is the standing Tyrannosaurus. It's the most iconic dinosaur Toy and I think it will never be dethroned. I see it everywhere, even in leaflets from actual dino exhibitions, books ... It's still a master piece of detail.
I owned only the green standing version (I always thought the running one was too skinny) and I recently decided to add more members to the family before they become rare.

When I had them in hand I realised (I wasn't aware of that before) that the brown and green rexes have quite different head sculpts. The rest of the body is identical.

In the brown version, there is a second row of scutes going from the eye, the snout is more squared, there are bigger scutes in some parts, the teeth are more pointed, but the most noticeable difference is the lower jaw. In the green version is deeper. I think they do very nice as a pair.

I know I keep asking this dumb question but I never seem to save the answer:

Is there a comprehensive list of all Paposaurs available out there? I ask because this is one of three dinosaur lines that I'd like to complete sometime this year.

Thats not a dumb Question. I bet, someone here will know an even better way, but maybe this helps: https://dinotoycollector.com/Browse/Browse.php?Company=Papo :)

avatar_Duna @Duna Oh yes, as a JP rex, the Standing one is really a gem. I always thought they just changed the Teeth and made the Head just a tad more "crisp" if that makes sense. What an interesting fact. And i always understood the fascination with this Companys Dinosaurs. At leats a few of them. Especially when looking at the time these came out. I know the Papo Spinosaurus (2019) was hyped and then thrown in the mud, but this is such a great Figure to hold and look at. Even with all the inaccuracies (We knew of.) Got it with preorder for an absolutely good Price, and i think it is absolutely worth it. It is kind of weird to talk about Papo again. But why not. They are part of the Game and showed me, that there is more than just Schleich, Resin and Cheaposaurs. Safari and CollectA were not on my Radar. The Schleich Monopoly. * Lightning and Thunder *

Edit: I was too slow :D

S @SidB 3,50 :D I would buy that too for this price. The feet are hideable, hehe.

avatar_Kapitaenosavrvs @Kapitaenosavrvs , take a look at my repaint thread and see what we did with the front and rear digits of the Papo Brachiosaurus.

I saw it and it is really good work. Changes so much overall, since the sculpt and size is a good Base to work with. Not a W-Dragon, but a Budget version of it, hehe. If you do not have to pay almost 50 Euros in a german Toystore :D

Thanks, glad that you found it interesting. I am really beginning to enjoy  converting older sculpts into ones that are more contemporaneous, understanding wise, or at least more aesthetically pleasing. I've targeted my Papos for the present.

Thank you for the links. I'm missing quite a lot, it seems. Good thing I now have a job. It'll be easier to pick them off now.
