I'm going to Michael's tomorrow to pick up some supplies for my dinosaur model line(thread here: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5554.0) and I might also pick up some new Safari Ltd. models. Yes! I haven't gotten a new dinosaur model in 3 weeks!

Hobby Lobby also carries Mojo, and my local Target also carries Schleich.

As for individual stores, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Dinosaur Farm in Pasadena, California.  They have Safari, Schleich, Papo, Geoworld, and CollectA (but not in stock of course).  I think the San Diego Natural History Museum's gift shop also sold Safari.

The Dinosaur Farm looks great! I'll check it out next time I'm down there. Here's a video tour for anyone interested: https://youtu.be/ZoGDUyYIDwg.

YIKES    that means there infecting the home of Battat

Thankfully, I've only ever seen the Giga and the Rex.  They're usually in bins with random other things, including their own knockoffs!  :))
OH your talking about those things.     Yeah, I dont see them taking out Battat

Also, I should add the Two Medicine Dinosaur Center in Bynum, MT, to the list. The gift shop of this little museum had the most Safari dinosaurs I've ever seen before in one place!

A couple more to add to the list:

In Washington, DC: The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History - had the Wild Safari Smilodon and woolly mammoth. All kinds of Safari modern animals, but no other extinct ones, unfortunately. Just some super cheap, ridiculous dinosaur toys. Really disappointing.

In East Earl, Pennsylvania: The Shady Maple Smorgasboard Gift Shop - had lots of Papo and Shleich.

I'd love to hear of places in Pennsylvania that stock Safari Ltd. if anyone knows of some! I've never been to an A.C. Moore before. What Safari species do they typically have?

Even the Smithsonian Museum doesn't have quality dinosaur toys? That's just sad, really sad.
I expected one of the best natural history museums would at least have had some decent models in stock.

The one near me has the Vagaceratops, Stegosaurus, Gastornis, Allosaurus, Velociraptor, Great Dinos T. rex, and a few of the baby dinosaurs. Unfortunately they haven't reset their display in a long time so there are still some open spaces from retired figures (Carnegie mammoth, agathis conifer) and none of the newer figures. The selection is limited but they do have a weekly coupon.

I can confirm that the gift shop in Montana's Museum of the Rockies carries Safari, including many of this year's releases!  :))

I went to both a Micheal's and A.C. Moore today (which were pretty much right across from each other) in the Lancaster area in PA. Neither had any of the newer figures from this year or even last year. Both had the retro green T. rex, scaly Velociraptor, green Allosaurus, old Triceratops, Vagaceratops, and Ceratosaurus. A.C. Moore had one Gastornis and Inostrancevia, and Micheal's had the newer Apatosaurus and one Dilophosaurus, as well as a couple of the older tree models (Agathis Conifer Tree). Unless I can check out that Hobby Lobby I went to earlier in the year at some point, and see if they carry anything I want, otherwise I'll need to buy everything online. Both stores had decent selections for the extant animals and the toobs however.

I would have never thought another from this forum would be so nearby. I was wondering why the selection mentioned in your post seemed so oddly the same. Well that's why, lol.

Thanks so much for suggesting A.C. Moore, everybody! I visited one yesterday for the first time and they had quite a good selection! I ended up getting the Wild Safari Acrocanthosaurus, Gastornis, and "Pterosaur" (this one: http://dinotoyblog.com/2016/10/18/pterosaur-wild-safari-by-safari-ltd/). Most of the other models they had were either ones I already own or am not interested in, but I was really impressed: Inostrancevia, Coelacanth, Guanlong, Spinosaurus, Allosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Stegosaurus, the scaly Velociraptor, Dunkleosteus, Kaprosuchus, Vagaceratops, Dracorex, Triceratops, Yutyrannus, Ceratosaurus, two of the prehistoric tree models, and possibly others that I'm forgetting. Several examples of each species, too, and also a huge selection of toobs and extant animals.

I'm from California but I'm out visiting relatives in Pennsylvania right now, so I've never explored an A.C. Moore before. Faelrin and Pachyrhinosaurus, I'm actually close to Lancaster as well! The A.C. Moore I went to was in Harrisburg! You guys might want to check it out if you're interested in any of the models mentioned above.

The Coelacanth and Yutyrannus are just two of the Safari figures I'm interested in getting. I will have to check out that store in that location when I have spending money again (and assuming they'll still be in stock by then). Thanks for the tip.

When I went to the Smithsonian in 2007 they had nothing, the best they had were those 3D dinosaur puzzles so they have had nothing for at least 10 years

Does anyone know any good museum/shops that stock quality dino figures in Tokyo?  :D

dgmilner

Try the shop at the Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno. Maybe also Hakuhinkan Toy Park? They have stores in Chuo and Shinjuku.

There will be stores at the upcoming Giga Dinosaur Exhibition at Makuhari Messe in Chiba and Yokohama Dinosaur Exhibit at Pacifico.

I see, thank you so much! Never heard of an upcoming Yokohama Dino Exhibit, can you provide me a link/details please?
Thanks.  :))

It would be a bad idea to try a Germany specific thread since we are constantly being insulted by the omnipresence of Schleich here  There simply seems to be no alternative...

I actually know two shops that offer Papo, one of these also CollectA and occassionally Safari, however both' shop's assortment mainly includes recent animals and only a very few dinosaurs. Other than that, yeah, the Schleich omnipresence is disgusting :/
Where are they?

Long overdue, but I missed that question, sorry about.

One is in Südhessen, AHS Puppen & Spielwaren, Nibelungenstraße 309, 64625 Bensheim - Wilmshausen, the other one is in Köln Deutz, not sure about the right address, some major street crossing Sülzburgstraße.
