That's a great figure, I'll get it for sure. I wonder how big it is, if it's not so much out of scale with the Tyrannosaurus they will look good together, looks like this Anky is ready to swing it's tail at something.

suspsy

My guess is that it'll be around the size of the Sauropelta.

Takama

I think it will be bigger then the sauropelta

ZoPteryx

Looks really good!  I'm hoping it's a bit bigger than the Sauropelta.

Halichoeres

Thanks for posting the photo, Takama! Really nice sculpt, and it looks like they got the badonkadonk right. I really like the Favorite version, but it's a little narrow in the hips (not to mention having forward-facing nostrils).

Not bad, not bad!  :D

Already have the carnegie and favorite v.2 Ankylosaurus, but this looks very, very tempting...

If this is legit, oh man I can't wait to get it. I like the color scheme it has as well. Finally an accurate Ankylosaurus figure, that's actually an Ankylosaurus. I can't wait for the official reveal of this one (again, if legit). I wonder how big or small it is.

Edit: It's legit all right.

Safari is killing me with these releases. Alamosaurus, some form of centrosaurine, and an ankylosaurus? Right in the wants zone.

EDIT:Wow, my analogies are weird.

PhilSauria

Yep, my wants list for next year is filling up, and the wallet is correspondingly going to be emptying! And we have yet to see what the other major players will be releasing. As someone else said - great time to be a collector.

Not that much impressed with this Ankylosaurus, but the picture is so small that it's hard to say if it's a good or a bad one. Seems like they are going to keep the theme of Carnegie remakes, I hope we'll see a Spinosaurus the same size of last year's Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus then.

SpartanSquat

Thanks for the better pics! Looks a little bigger than Sauropelta. Maybe without Carnegie they are making bigger figures

alexeratops

Wow! I love the dynamic pose in this one, the Sauropelta and old Carnegie Anky were lacking in that department. I am not a fan of the color combo, but that is only a minor problem.

I kind of feel bad for the people who are trying to keep these from getting out to the public though.
like a bantha!

PhilSauria

I'm seeing a strange mix of the Papo and Carnegie here and I like the more generous size. Still want one.

Jose S.M.

I think the pose is kind of similar to the Papo but the tail looks lower in this one, and the armor is in the correct position like the Carnegie one so that's why it looks like both of them mixed. I really like it.

Not an improvement over the Carnegie version, in my opinion. And yes, the dark upper side kind of spoil the colour scheme. The size is weird, I wonder if it is more in scale with the Tyrannosaurus or the Sauropelta instead. At least looks decently painted.

I like earth tones. I would say that this model is more or less on par with Carnegie (I'm sure this WS interpretation looks better in hand). The Carnegie version seems more elegant overall but lacks heft (I wasn't a fan of lime green but it blended well). Btw, nice painted on angry eyebrows!

Jose S.M.

I never liked the head of the Carnegie version, this has a better looking head sculpt to me, also since it's wider at the hips, the armor looks more properly arranged, with more space between the armor elements. I like the front feet in the W.S one better too.

Faelrin

Woah. Thanks for the larger pics. I really do like how this one turned out. I'm going to have to add this one to my wishlist alongside the Mastodon. I only wish the underside of the tail and plates were painted the same color as the top part, assuming it isn't a QC issue, but otherwise I am really liking it (sculpt, and the color scheme). I also lol'd at the painted on angry eyebrows, but at the same time I like it that way. It gives it character. I also think the color scheme is similar to the Battat Terra Euoplocephalus (but with the plate and belly colors swapped). I have to wonder how those two would look alongside each other with that in mind. I am also really curious to find out what it scales with (the new Tyrannosaurus or the Sauropelta). I am really looking forward to seeing what's in store for Safari next year (hopefully officially though).

I sure hope not. I'm hoping the picture is just a kid's hand. My biggest complaint with the carnegie ankylosaurus was that it was to big. To be in scale with the 12 inch T. Rex's it cannot exceed 6 inches. If it is really bigger than the saurapelta than I might just wait for the next collecta ankylosaurus since I can usually count on them to make things to scale.

The legs aren't quite as spread on this one so it doesn't have the constipated look which is a big relief.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD
