3K away from the next stretch goal, looks like the campaign is finally starting to pick up some pace!
Fingers crossed we'll get to unlocking the Psittacosaurus as well  ;D

Isn't it 13K away?  Or did the unlock level change for the Proto?  ???
Sorry, my mistake. It is 13K away

Faelrin

And just think if the Protoceratops is unlocked and the demand is large enough for it might very well push us to unlock the Psittacosaurus too, as it is over $70, which would add up fast (again if the demand is strong for it).

By the way, how much BoTM kosmoceratops does it take to unlock it? I am interested in this rare ceraptoside.

I am not very glad to see brow horns on this figure. Actual fossil lacks them and some cladistic analysis put wendiceratops as sister genus to sinoceratops, so it may lacked horns at all, just like sinoceratops. Anyway, good-looking figure.

This was unlocked yesterday in the Big Unlock!  :)

Four more unlocked! This is splendid news!

Even better! It's five!

Comparing the two campaigns is pretty striking. The ceratopsians had a huge first two days; Silva said multiple times that they were outpacing the raptors. He stopped saying that after a couple of weeks, as new backers have been really slow to sign on. There was kind of a mini-surge for the "Big Unlock," but nothing like the snowball effect we saw when raptor goals started being unlocked.

There are roughly 1,000 fewer backers for this series than there were for the first series. There's still time for an increase, of course--the raptor series added more than 400 backers the last two days. But for now almost all of the growth seems to be existing backers increasing their pledges. The last two days will probably be very volatile and exciting--refresh often!

Great idea on David's part to have 5 figures with the same body unlocked at the same time; I've added on $50 for the Avaceratops.

M @Melanite What joy you give me with that news! You can take into account David Silva and BoTM that have buyer insurance. Thank you very much for giving me this pleasant news.

I'm excited for this Wedniceratops! I'm most keen on the Psittacosaurus and the Protoceratops, but if I get any of the larger ceratopsians it'll be this one.
Mostly I'm just a low-key Wendy Sloboda fanboy.

New package art for the Spiclypeus (and painted prototype coming later tonight est time):

I really love how the art here looks, and I love that silly little cute lizard there. Easily one of my favorites of the package arts so far (though I don't think I dislike any in particular). Now I can't wait to see what the prototype looks like. I think this would be the first figure made of Spiclypeus right?

Also we are less then $6,000 away from unlocking the Protoceratops now. I really hope and think we'll get this one unlocked, if not any more before this ends.

Same here. Was kinda wondering how well the juvenile leopard gecko(?) colours would translate onto the figure. I very much prefer the more muted colours on the package art as compared to the concept art. I hope the prototype figure will reflect a more subdued paintjob as well.

I believe so, unless CollectA wants to surprise us with one in 2020  ;)
It's a shame this genus isn't made into figure form more often.

Shonisaurus

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Totally agree although I would like Collecta to make rare ceraptosides in the toy market of the size of the styracosaurus Deluxe or if they are standard figures of the size of the PNSO spinops.

On the other hand the Spiclypeus looks great and beautiful in its promotional drawing but in my case I am satisfied with the protoceratops and kosmoceratops of BoTM can not now allow me many luxuries unfortunately even in buying dinosaurs for reasons pointed out in other posts.

Faelrin

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Ah good to know about this possibly being the first (again unless CollectA does. Doubt any other companies would for this year). I'm certainly leaning on it, but of course seeing the prototype will be what I decide on. I do like the blue markings on the face though. It adds some nice contrast.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus That's understandable. I think am lucky I will be able to pledge for the first four (Styracosaurus, Monoclonius, sub adult Triceratops, and Zuniceratops) and print for now (if this was a few months ago, definitely wouldn't be able to afford it). I do not know if there are more you would be interested in getting for later on, but you will be able to add more when the backerkit survey is sent.

Additionally I'm sure David could help you add on more figures after the survey is locked down, if desired, which he helped me for the raptor series figures before they were shipped. I just contacted him on kickstarter about which I wanted, and sent him the amount to his paypal. I am hoping to do this for any that I may not be able to afford later when the survey is sent, or for now, such as the Diabloceratops, Protoceratops (very likely this will be funded, less then $4,000 away from it unlocking now), Einiosaurus, and possibly any others (if unlocked, and/or the Spicylpeus after I see the painted prototype for it).

so I bought a $50 Vanilla visa gift card this week which I was gonna use to pledge for the nasutoceratops(I originally wanted the avaceratops but I changed my mind) but I screwed up and forgot to include the shipping with the total amount. :P  So I guess Ill just have to pledge the zuniceratops. Unless there's some way to add a second card when I check out. Does anyone know if that's even possible? Because I do have another older vanilla visa gift card with a few dollars left over that maybe I can use to cover the rest.

You could make up the difference in the backerkit survey if you need too. Like for shipping, etc. Like you could stick with the Zuniceratops for now and when the survey is sent, switch your pledge reward and pay the difference then.

yeah but I don't know if if they'd let me use 2 different visa gift cards to pay for one pledge/figure. Also reading the help section it says you have to have $1 more than the amount you are pledging available if using a pre paid card. I only have $50 on one card and $6.05 left on the other one. So I wont have enough to cover the $55. And I really don't want to buy another card b/c that's another extra $4.95 activation fee I need to spend. So I think I'll have to get the zuni.

Faelrin

Ah I wasn't aware about the fee's and such, and sorry I did not answer the other question. I'm pretty sure you can only pay with one card on kickstarter. Yeah you'll likely have to stick with that one for now. At least most of these should be available later, like is the case with the raptors, so perhaps you'll get a chance in the future to get one.

Edit: Shortly after I posted this, the Centrosaurus package art, and a look at the WIP Spiclypeus painted prototype:
