Wait up....when and where is the Brachio being released?

Fall of this year, and despite being part of the Legacy collection it won't be a Target exclusive.

It will be a Target exclusive in the US. For other countries it will have main line branding.

The term "Target exclusive" evokes a sense of dread in me. I never saw the Target exclusive NECA TMNT in any of their physical stores in my city nor was I able to get that much coveted Spinosaurus from their website.

More images of the Brachiosaurus have officially been revealed:

https://jurassicoutpost.com/official-images-of-the-mattel-jurassic-world-legacy-collection-brachiosaurus-have-stomped-online/

Also I didn't notice this before, but I spy the Papo, Schleich, and Jurassic Park Stan Winston Studios Parasaurolophus Maquette in the package artwork. Not the first time something from this line has seemed copied from another brand, etc.

And a new playset has been found on Brickseek, which will feature a Baryonyx (which explains the red one in the app finally). Hope this one see's the day of light and is easy to get, though I am worried since there's also a Battle Damage Spinosaurus on the way, and I can't see either of these showing up on shelves. Hopefully I am wrong though.

And speaking of that Battle Damage Spinosaurus we got some first looks at it now and the brand new Battle Damage feature it has (today has been quite the day for Mattel Jurassic World product news in a while):

Edit: Also not relevant to this news, but my Quetzalcoatlus did not ship. I will have to keep waiting on that one. And my Indominus rex was supposedly going to arrive this Sunday, but I ended up canceling it, because I sadly don't have the money for it right now. I'll get it (and the Quetzalcoatlus) eventually I'm sure.

Another edit: My Savage Strike Blue arrived. Here is a few pics of her. A decent figure, though I think the Battle Damage one is my favorite still, but this is a close second.

Here she is with the card. Not sure if it is the same one that came with the previous Savage Strike jumping Blue figure though.

And here she is with my first Mattel Blue, the Battle Damage one. The blue paint app is a bit more vibrant/saturated on the new figure, though the white outlining of her stripes is a bit more bold on the old figure. So closer to the paint app used on the jumping version of Blue, but a bit different still.

The battle damage feature on that Spinosaurus is very interesting.

Having said that. Boy, those colors suck! I feel sorry for all the people who could not get the original. Also, because of the battle damage feature its going to be even more front heavy than before and it still has a tiny tail.

Oh man, oh man, that still picture of the Brachiosaurus...She´s beautiful :'( She has such a gentle expression it melts my heart...

Also wow, I am so impressed by the range of articulation it is going to have :o

suspsy

I think the Spinosaurus looks very nice in blue. So the wound spins around? Weird.

Wow, that new Spinosaurus is wild and wacky. Colors are fine, but I really want to know how that battle damage function works.

My guess is that the round central "bloody" area is squishy plastic like the Albertosaurus' wound, and the button at the rear of the sail makes some kind of red fluid swish around inside when pressed. But maybe not.

CityRaptor

Well, them changing the paintjob is understandable. Otherwise it might have looked too much like the other Spino. And we all know that their might be issues if they make figures looking too much like the Legacy ones.

Constant paintjobs seem to be character specific: Indoraptor, Stiggy, Rexy and Blue have those, with the latter two also being redecorated into other characters.

And of course it also pays loose hommage to some Spinosaurus figures from the past.

But yeah, also interested in how the Battle Damage works.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Killekor

I'm actually curious to see the new repainted Baryonyx. That color scheme has a lot of potential!
I actually like the new color scheme of the Spinosaurus, but for me it's a pass for various reasons, mainly for the battle damage feature which I don't like.
From all the photos that I saw of it I think that the Brachiosaurus is going to become a legend of dinosaur toy history. It's just an amazing figure!
Thanks Faelrin for the photos of the new Blue! It looks nice despite the oversized feet.

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Is that the Primal Carnage Spinosaurus? :P
I love it.

the more I see the brachio the more I wants it! Even if I have no place to put it(the woes of being a toy collector and living in a tiny apartment.) Guess I'll have to keep it in the kitchen or something, lol.

Mine will end up standing on the floor next to my dinosaur shelf, no way am I making space for it on there.  :P

Same, the floor is the only place available for it. :(

Primeval12

Looks like he swallowed a gyrosphere.

I'm not gonna be picking this one up but I am curious as to what the battle damage is supposed to represent if it's spinning like that. Maybe a beating heart?

Faelrin

The edge of my bed is the only free real estate for my large Jurassic figures (as seen in my collection thread). The Brachiosaurus is gonna chill next to my (unboxed) Mosasaurus. Gonna have to relocate that boxed Mosasaurus though to make room for the Brachiosaurus. May have to relocate that Indominus rex skeleton too. I just wish I knew were to display that beautiful box it comes in. Hmm.

If I has to guess it's just an easy to grab handle shape to activate some sort of pain roar effect.

Did no one read my earlier comment? I'm thinking the center of the Spinosaurus wound is actually squishy and filled with some red "fluid", so that when you press the button you can make it "beat" and swish the stuff around. What do y'all think about that?

Having the wound itself spinning around in a circle would be kind of nonsense (what kind of a wound does THAT?), and I also highly doubt there is a roar function because none of the battle-damage series has had electronics, and it is no where indicated in the illustration.

Appalachiosaurus

I assume it's meant to simulate a ripping and tearing motion. If a kid puts their extreme chompin rex's mouth on the open wound and press the button, they could imagine it as the Tyrannosaur digging in so hard that it's disrupting the guts.

It should go well with the Suchomimus. It would be nice if the wound spun around like a washing machine and squirted red dye back at us.

It has LEGENDARY written all over it. JP accurate and aesthetically pleasing with a must have wow factor that rivals DR "Brontosaurus", Definitely Dinosaur "Ultrasaurus" and Battat Diplodocus

I recently picked up Albertosaurus (finally!) from my local Walmart and I was incredibly impressed. It is a top tier figure just like the Mosasaurus, T-rex, Carnotaurus and Stegosaurus. It's actually more detailed than the T-rex (I'm not sure how accurate it is but Albert is very pleasing to the eye). The following day, I received the I-rex by mail from Amazon. I was blown away- despite not being a real dinosaur, the model has the perfect balance of sculpt, color gradation, action features and aesthetics. Easily Mattel's best "dinosaur" model. While it sports a number of toy functions, the toy has the craftsmanship of higher end models (not quite Nanmu but incredibly impressive for what it's worth). a 10/10 rating. I have a feeling the Brachiosaurus will surpass even the I-rex!

I'm just super intrigued about how this functions. It does kind of look like it's half-filled with something dark red. I doubt there are any electronics involved. Wish the rib cage was removable.
