Hey, do any of you guys know what the story is behind the Plesiosaurus? I was about to pre-order it from US Amazon but I missed it by a day (I was confused about the toy but realized that it looks pretty okay with the jaws clamped shut). I was reading somewhere that it is a non-US release. So, what happens to those who ordered it from the US Amazon site?

I'm just super intrigued about how this functions. It does kind of look like it's half-filled with something dark red. I doubt there are any electronics involved. Wish the rib cage was removable.

Yeah, it definitely looks like they are trying something new with the Spino re-release but the size of the wound borders upon the ridiculous. I will try to pre-order it from Walmart's website as soon as it is available as I've missed the previous Target/Smyth exclusives.

avatar_tanystropheus @tanystropheus Do you mean the Savage Strike one? Not sure that one has even been released yet. Certainly is not included in the case with the rest of the new Savage Strike figures (Blue, dilo, raptor, pachy), so will likely be released later this year.

No idea if the Battle Damage Plesiosaurus is coming to the states, but probably not if I had to guess, since it seems to have been skipped by Walmart in Canada, since they are already receiving the newest Battle Damage figures in some stores (the Gallimimus seen here is also confirmed to be a repack with the scan code of the previous one, not the new Dino Rivals one), and might be due to being backed up on/overstocked with last year's Battle Damage assortment:

At least I have a pal in Germany on reddit who is willing to help me get one of the Battle Damage ones, which is the one I really only wanted (if they get more stock on this website of them anyways: https://futurartshop.com/en/action-figures/jurassic-world-wounds-from-the-fight-plesiosaurus/887961737493.html ).

Wait, was there more than one Plesiosaurus model planned (different territories?)?! I think the one I saw on US Amazon was the battle damage but I can't quite remember.

Best way to tell would be on the app where you scan their codes. Usually new ones are listed on there way before release.

Amazon is the BD one, my preorder says Sept 8th right now, so it's probably a later wave in the states than elsewhere.  Mattel has bee doing their best to make this a collector line so diff parts of the globe get releases at different times, it's frustrating but also encourages sharing and trading and reselling.

tanystropheus

Thanks everyone for the information about the Plesiosaurus. It's been helpful and I have to keep an eye out. I look forward to the release because I see Mattel as the spiritual successor to Tyco's DRs and the Plesiosaurus was rumored to be planned for DR. It is also not made in toy form as much as other prehistoric reptiles.

To all the Aussies on the forum - (I think there's like, only three of us?) , It's worth checking out Big W - the Annual toy sale's on next week.  There's not much difference except
           - the Bite and Fight Tyrannosaurus ( If I didn't already have the Super Colossal I'd pick this one up.)
           - Oh, the Super Colossal T rex again. If you missed out.
           - The Snap Squad mini dinos
           - And it's the best place for hard to find Attack Packs - I just picked up another Coelurus (the third one I've got at Big W) and a Herrerasaurus.

Also today I went into Target and found a solitary Battle Damage Plesiosaurus. Fifteen bucks at Target if you can find one is better than $100 plus on Ebay. I was going to see if anyone on the Forum wanted it, but my youngest niece adopted it. I'll keep my eyes open for another one.

I also check Kmart every so often, and while I never find anything I suspect rare Attack Packs might show up there.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

My Quetzalcoatlus finally came today. My purple Savage Strike Dilophosaurus came on the 11th. Just waiting on the quilled raptor to ship now. Here's some additional pics to the ones I posted in the Recent Acquisitions thread (here: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=7102.msg233858#msg233858):

A bit hard to see in the image (due to the glare), but the Quetzalcoatlus has teal pupils.

Here it is with all the other Mattel Jurassic World pterosaurs that I have so far (safe to say the Roarivores/Dual Attack/larger Destruct-A-Saurs Pteranodon figures are oversized since this is likely Q. sp, when compared with a human figure for scale, which I forgot to take a pic of. Edit: More specifically it is the body that is oversized, because of the electronic feature of course, and perhaps the wingspan slightly so, if a male. Ditto with the Dimorphodon and Rhamphorhnychus being over sized, but slightly so, more so in the former's case. Edit: Though the scale of the Dimorphodon toy may be accurate to the size of the one in the film):

Here is the Dilophosaurus with the Legacy and original Attack Pack figures (not the best pic, but I'll have a better one when I can get to nabbing new pics to review it):

Ceratopsianking

The Quetzalcostlus neck makes it look so much bigger than the other

Faelrin

C @Ceratopsianking It certainly does make it seem very large, that's for sure.

Finally got my hands on the Basic Proceratosaurus. Much bigger than I expected it to be. Definitely worth the price!!! Compared to the attack pack Proceratosaurus and other figures in the review. Enjoy!! https://youtu.be/5c1j-yE0oeU

It is oversized if compared to the real Pteranodon but compared to the JP version it's actually about right.  JP's Pteranodons where oversized and this line is based on the scale of the JP dinosaurs.  I'd still rather a larger Quetzalcoatlus though.

The temptation to repaint and do a little custom work and turn the Quetz into a Skybax is really tempting..

The detail on this Proceratosaurus is incredible and I ordered mine a while back. Is it really from the basic series or is it from the Legendary Series that Mattel was talking about. I think they mentioned the Raptor and some other models would have upscaled details for that line. I can't quite remember ...

It's from the basic line. We haven't gotten any new info in the legendary line other than it's still planned to come out at some point.

Just did one of my semi-regular and so far fruitless searches for the Battle Damage Plesiosaurus and I saw that somebody payed $150 AU on eBay for one of these! Insanity!!!

If people keep paying the extortionate prices that some sellers are asking then subsequent sellers will keep asking these prices. (expletive!) parasites!

You can at least get the SS version for $9.99 from Amazon now (it was previously available but then they took away the listing but its back)  :)

Thanks for the link. I checked it and 9 out of ten times Amazon will not send to Australia, but this time they do - with hefty import fees, coming to $25 AU. At this point I'd just about be prepared to pay that, although it is marked as temporarily out of stock. Why is this one so hard to get hold of?

The thing is supposed to be available in Target stores over here, as mentioned by another Australian Forum member, but I've never seen one and Target seem to be shifting the JW stock at clearance prices just now so that doesn't bode well for the future. In any case the shelves here are full of Pteranodons, Triceratops, Stygimolochs and Raptors and that's your choice.

Faelrin

The Battle Damage Plesiosaurus has had really poor distribution considering how much demand there is for it (ditto with the repainted Battle Damage Pteranodon). I'm hoping they go back in stock on that site my pal from Germany found them on, else I may need to try to look elsewhere (I know there was someone on instagram helping others get their's, so wouldn't hurt to try asking them at some point if that one site doesn't get any in stock). It really is the one I'm after the most because of the blue and white color scheme, although I'm hoping the actual figure for the Savage Strike one looks better then its promo pics here, as it looks kind of bland.
