I think either/or would be fine with me. I like that you are doing this though. Should save time, especially in regards to editing things. Having it open to more folks may help things get fixed faster (or filled in with more relevant details).

Would members be able to upload photos of figures, or would that be too complicated or problematic?

Halichoeres

What a great idea, definitely spreads the work around and gives us access to the collective knowledge of the community.

I think I like the idea of a button next to the filters best.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres I hope we can fill in a lot of empty spaces and add new items quicker this way. Will need to create a panel for this and still thinking about the multi-species issue today.

Crackington

That sounds great avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector 👍

I guess there' would need to be some protocols to ensure quality control and that existing photos aren't just replaced. This would be great though, I just got some missing MPCs  :)

I think the upcoming DinoZoo Kaatedocus could be added as well.

It's now been confirmed this figure will indeed be released, and it's expected to come out this same month. This has been confirmed by the creator of the brand.

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector I attempted to add the new PNSO Livyatan to the database today, but have ended up getting this error:

Quote<<< Record was NOT added >>>

Field 'Category' doesn't have a default value

I had company (PNSO), line (Prehistoric Animal Models), name (Requena), product number (56), art1 (Livyatan, released (2021), group (Mammalia), sup group (Artiodactyla), period (Neogene), location (Southern Hemisphere), and images (0) filled in.

I did some work on the database and table structures lately. It must have been affected the back end. Please use this link for this week: https://www.dinotoycollector.com/DTCCRUD2/

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Thanks for the link. What do I do with the Category? Or do I not worry about that right now?

Edit: Also wondering what "Part of" would be used for?

As for the category I thought of adding 'Toy' 'Resin Kit' & 'Statue' - You don't have to worry about this, but you can already add data if you want.
I have to re-structure the Database for the upcoming features. In future, species-specific data will no longer have to be entered except for the name. I have already implemented this as a test (see https://www.dinotoycollector.com/Browse/Browsespeciestest.php?Company=Bandai&Company=Vitae). All data, such as order & country, come from another table. This means that all data entries for a T-rex, for example, are the same. I just haven't finished rewriting the filters, otherwise it works. Now it is possible to add two countries and two ages to one species.

These are all preparations for the topic "Multi-Species-Items"
With "Part of" it should be shown in a simple way which set a figure belongs to if it is not a single item. In addition, there will also be fields for "Contains".

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Oh thank you. Looks like I may have some updating to do for many things where I had been previously using the info box (such as toob figures, mini sets, etc). This is a really good update to the system.

An update including the Eofauna Diplodocus, DinoZoo Kaatedocus, BOTM grey Tyrannosaurus and the new PNSO Himalayasaurus would be fitting imo.

Gonna work on that today actually. Was planning to get that done last night, but my brother surprised me with taking me out and getting me a new gaming laptop at Best Buy.

Edit: Got them all added now. Just need to go grab some pics for the BotM unpainted T. rex figures added, and that's it.

Just letting folks know I did some more updates for the BotM Tyrannosaur figures today (added more info, and added a few more images).

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Can the BotM Gorgosaurus image be replaced?

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Could the height field please have more space to work with, like the length? Was trying to add the height of the CollectA Pteranodon (13.5 cm) but it would not fit in, even with the space taken out.

Could there also be a way to manually add group and subgroup? For things like the new CollectA Cooperoceras there is no option for nautiloids, and likewise there is no option for Archosauria for their new Smok.

Hey avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin
in theory it should work. I will have a look into both issues and will fix it ASAP. Right now there are some changes in the background. An admin panel is currently being set up so that suggestions from users can be confirmed / moderated by us. This is a lot of work and the database structure becomes more complex. There are currently a lot of adjustments to be made to bring the site to a new technical level.

I'll let you know once I finished your request (hopefully done in just some minutes). I hope the last changes on the back-end were okay so far.

Thialfi

Thank you all for all the amazing work on this beautiful website.

Might I request the Bullyland machairodus to be added? Thank you!

http://dinotoyblog.com/2020/03/17/machairodus-bullyland/

Concavenator

I tried to edit the names of the Bullyland and CollectA models labeled as Pteranodon sternbergi and change them to Geosternbergia, but the site won't even let me suggest it.

On another note, I have realized that many if not all of the models of members from the family Ceratopsidae aren't grouped as such, rather, they are classified according to their subfamilies (Chasmosaurinae and Centrosaurinae). I noticed it because ceratopsids are easily the most represented family in my collection, but in the section "Most of your prehistoric figures...belong to X family" they aren't there because of this classification. If I'm not wrong they are the only group that are classified according to subfamilies. Why?

And finally, I wanted to suggest if would it be possible to add more than one collection to the site. Imagine you have your main collection where your favorite figures or whatever are on display, and you have other figures in storage. It might come handy to some people being able to have several collections on the site where everything isn't mixed together. Though it goes without saying that I have no idea if this is possible or if it would be a lot of work. Just my 2 cents.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I would imagine the Shere  umber of Ceratopsids, coupled with the distinct lineages of Chasmosaurine and Centrosaurine, means they might as well be, I think the Hadrosaurid subfamilies of Saurolophinae and Lambeosaurinae should be done the same way.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Faelrin

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Everything else went pretty smoothly for me. It was like I was using that link you gave to me earlier, but just going to the database through the My Collection tab as before.

avatar_Thialfi @Thialfi I believe it is there, but it has been named as Eusmilus. I'm guessing I should go and fix that.
