Yup. Warm water and soap is enough, wipes can be saved for when scrubbing on surfaces is too difficult or could damage them.

The other day I went out of the confinement and bought twenty masks, five disinfecting gels and four packages of gelocatil. When I go out to buy food and pharmaceutical products, I buy in large quantities to stay at home for the maximum amount of time.

On the other hand, whenever I return home I wash all the clothes including the jacket in the washing machine and I shower immediately. I usually eat and live at home as far away from my father as possible to prevent him from having coronavirus. He is a person at risk.

I work in a department store and I can tell you people are still not taking this seriously. Every hour I wipe down the checkouts with disinfectant and I see what these sheep are buying - apparently makeup, fashionable clothes, video games and their accessories, furniture, and Yog Sothoth knows what else, are ESSENTIAL ITEMS - which is the only thing you're allowed out for. And watch them shop - just wandering around slowly, not quickly grabbing the important things you might need. Also, unless there are stickers on the floor telling them to keep 1.5 metres apart, they just bunch together. And they scoff at you, if you deliberately move away from them - like this is a joke.

I've never had a optimistic view of humanity, but jeez... I don't know how to finish this sentence. What will it take?
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

When you look at the dynamics of Hurricane Katrina, hundreds, maybe thousands who had ample warning to escape, chose not to. Also, look at the horrific warnings on cigarette packages. IMO, the sense/ illusion of our own personal immortality and the existential supremacy of the NOW, leads people to have a really hard time taking potential negative future events seriously.

Every Monday, I go Out with a Health worker, who takes me out to diffrent places, when the virus was not in effect. But lately, i she has been giveing me the option to not go because of it. But i Choose to go anyways and the only option there is to do, is shop for grocerys, and other "Essential Items" Using my own money.

I have been Chooseing to Go With her, mainly to get out of the house. Maybe not the wisest thing to do, but i practice all the procations while out, by not touching anything im not buying, and staying away from everyone like there an infected zombie.

After the Day is done when i get home,  i always wash my hands like crazy

I will Admit to Splurging on the occasinal JW Figure (That i Disinfect before adding to the collection when i get home) During these Trips

I will Also admit that Im always a little Nervous while out, and every other day of the week i stay  home. Keep in mind, i live with my mom and her Boyfriend works in Construction and thus is considered an Essential worker.

I'm not sure what to post on here. I've been avoiding this topic because this forum (and other parts of the internet) are a nice little safe haven but decided that avoiding this altogether sounds cruel somehow.
As someone who is pretty introvert, the lockdown does not really affect me socially, only my occasional trips for a game at Games Workshop are gone. Everything else is similar.
I now onlyblecae house and garden to walk my dog once a day.
I lost my job in January anyway and applying for a new one is virtually impossible as there is no way I am going to do something risky, especially not since I live with my parents and my mum is asthmatic.
My dad works at a supermarket and he has shower every day after work and washes clothes separately. He also picks up shopping while he's there. Shopping is disinfected, and parcels are dealt with carefully.
I cannot sell anything though I have lots tos all because cannot ho to post offices though it is technically open.
As for the knowing anyone who has had virus, not personally,  butbthe 55 year old neighbour of my mum's best friend died from it last week.

I found out my mother's uncle had passed away from it yesterday. I never met him, but she certainly was upset over it. I suppose it was just a matter of time before something like this happened, but still tragic it did at all.

thanks! I did manage to get a bottle of 409 spray so that should help too.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin I'm very sorry about your mother's uncle. Dying from coronavirus is a tough thing. Hopefully they will find a solution to this tragic situation soon.

sauroid

seems like govt imposed quarantine/isolation and lockdowns wolrdwide could be extended til the cases have slowed down a bit. this might be a good time to plan for our future, and how we could cope with so many changes in our lifestyles and how to prepare for the "new norm".

The way our Governor is handling things, I doubt any effective change will be made soon. He has reopened all beaches and golf clubs despite urgings from city-level government to tighten restrictions. He is likely doing this due to the fact he has shares in these businesses or related businesses, and it is having very negative results on our state and in my area. A town near me that is popular for beach-goers only has 10 members of its police force, and 1 has Covid and 8 must be quarantined. This means only one police officer must patrol and keep peace in an entire city full of tourists. I wish the best of luck for you all in these uncertain times, and I am very sorry to hear about those of you who have lost loved-ones. You will be in my prayers.

Thanks, MP
You must understand the past before you can change the future.

A bit late but thanks for the condolences folks.

It is finally mandatory in my state that (only?) essential workers wear masks, although this feels a bit late to start requiring this to be honest.

Things have gone downhill with us. Hard.

My dad's basically going insane with anxiety (to put this in perspective, I'm a pretty anxious person in real life to the point where I've had on and off regular periods of going to a therapist. He's right now reminding me of when I was actively suicidal in terms of mania, which is bringing up fun memories for me...) My mom and I are trying, but I have pretty bad empathy and my mom is a TERRIBLE therapist. He's having to go to therapy (we thankfully found a therapist who will do sessions online with him), but I honestly don't know how much longer we can all handle being stuck in this house together like this. About the only thing I have to enjoy right now is that I wrote up a long word document about dinosaurs and prehistoric life. Mainly finding facts and talking about various creatures all over the world. It's not particularly good right now (very informal, not citing primary sources. All of those issues), but my hope is to use it as a starting point for stuff. My sister's pushing for a YouTube channel, but I'm worried about that because there's no way I can compete with the other paleontological youtubers (mostly because I lack the education into Paleontology. I know my way around video and audio editing and production quite well and my stage confidence is pretty damn good after a few starting jitters.)

I'm hopeful that things will get better soon, but to be honest right now, I kinda wish I was in a coma until this all ended. I'm keeping my own depression and anxiety at bay, but that's more because I just don't have time or lack of responsibilities to wallow in those feelings like I did when I was younger.

I was kinda hoping to not have to adult just yet.

Taran - Delve into that project you've got. Let it take you away from your immediate surroundings. When all this is over you'll have created a valuable resource for yourself. Years down the road you'll be able to look back at this point in your life and say, "I made this". And it could definitely be a stepping stone to a YouTube series or the like. I wish you strength in this difficult time.
