Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Over9K

Les than $3K to Dryptosaurus unlock, and Gorgosaurus tease colored in!

CityRaptor

Ah, more pictures of that figure. Looks nice, although I most likely won't pick it up.

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor There''s images of it in the op as well (at least 6). But yes the website is a good alternative for the galleries (once they've been added).

Anyways we are less then $1,000 away from unlocking Dryptosaurus, and clearing the $300,000 mark in less then a week's time.

Edit: To add we've already surpassed the total amount the ceratopsian campaign was funded at by the time it ended, and coming up to dethrone the raptor series as well in this regard (around $52,000 to go).

Dryptosaurus now only needs $660. Proceratosaurus, Qianzhousaurus, and Lythronax are now listed at $315K, $330K, and $350K respectively. And Suskityrannus, Gorgosaurus, and Eotyrannus have been coloured in on the group chart. :)

avatar_suspsy @suspsy Thanks for mentioning that. I'll get the op updated once again (I've been quite busy so far with this and the Mattel thread, lol).

Edit: Op updated. I'm guessing the total funds needed for the Suskityrannus hazelae will be around $365,000, Gorgosaurus libratus around $385,000 (or more), and Eotyrannus lengi around $400,000 (or more)?

Edit 2: Dryptosaurus funded now!

CarnotaurusKing

I can't imagine the restraint it took to avoid making the Dryptosaurus's package art a "Leaping Laelaps" homage.

Carnoking

Felt like a bit of a lull after the Teratophoneus was unlocked but boy did it kick back into gear when the Dryptosaurus became available.

Faelrin

C @CarnotaurusKing That would have been something. It is a fresh take however though, and I like that as well.

avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking I wonder if revealing more stretch goals helped too. Glad to see it picked back up though. Nearly over $310,000 already, so if this pace keeps up, we'll unlock Proceratosaurus either tonight (EST, which is my timezone), or tomorrow. I think getting Lythronax unlocked (or close to unlocking) may help as well, assuming folks didn't add it on preemptively, especially since it has a finished prototype, unlike most of Wave 2 atm.

Kicktraq is showing there's been more backers joining today (more then yesterday's total), and the day isn't over yet, so hopefully more show up in the time being.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I've received an email from David Silva about this series, asking me as a previous funder to fund this series now, I wonder how many people who funded the Ceratopsians and/or Raptors and had otherwise forgotten were actually reminded by that?
I still haven't done it yet as waiting for a third of the 5 I want to be available, but it won't be until after the next 3 it seems.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Faelrin

Yeah that could have helped. Also color me shocked, we almost have Proceratosaurus funded now as well. Less then $2,000 to go. I really like the revised coloration for this one as well.

Carnoking

Huh, just noticed he changed the color scheme on this one. I really did like the vibrant blue tones in the original, so that's a shame for me. This new version isn't bad but it's giving me pause now that I realize it's changed.

Psittacoraptor

It seems like the Gorgo will be part of Wave 2, which is estimated to ship in march 2023. That's going to be a painfully long wait.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin While it's very impressive that the Tyrannosaur KS is on track to dethrone the funding of the raptor KS, those figures were also much cheaper, so it's not that surprising. I just checked and the raptors were only 35$ in the kickstarter, which was a very good deal in hindsight.

I thought it would be fun to rank the popularity of the figures so far. Only rexes, though, as there's no option to see how many people ordered the stretch goal figures (that I know of):

1/35 special edition rex (348 backers) > 1/18 regular rex (238 backers) > 1/35 regular rex (197 backers) > 1/18 special edition rex (167 backers) > 1/35 + 1/18 special edition bundle (109 backers) > 1/35 + 1/18 regular bundle (32 backers). And 61 crazy people bought all four, haha.

I know nothing about Dino Riders, so it's interesting to me that the special edition is so popular.

Am I the only own who doesn't like the WWD colour scheme? It's not bad by any sense of the term, but I find it very bland compared to the other two.

Also, the Proceratosaurus now has less than $1K to go!

Gothmog the Baryonyx

The Raptor series was also only available in US and Canada which limits the amount of backers compared to this one.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Cretaceous Crab

I'm eagerly awaiting to see the finished prototypes of Teratophoneus, and Alectrosaurus.

Concavenator

Were there delays when delivering the ceratopsians to the Kickstarter backers in any of the 2 waves released so far? I don't know if I recall correctly, but I think some of the ceratopsians became available at Everything Dinosaur earlier (and thereby people who didn't participate in the KS got some figures earlier than the backers)  ???

I like the WWD colour scheme. I find it to be a good, natural colour scheme. Though my favorite colour scheme, asthetically speaking is the standard one. And imo the worst colour scheme is easily the Dino Riders version. Doesn't make any sense, it's just green and brown mixed. I just don't see the appeal for it.

EDIT- With the change of colour scheme for the Proceratosaurus, it has went from my least favorite directly to probably my favorite. And that artwork by Gabriel Ugueto is simply exquisite, he's my favorite paleoartist.

Hmmm. Maybe because it's also a perfectly good and natural colour scheme and because it's an intentional homage to one of the most popular dinosaur toy lines ever? That makes sense to me.

It's also an unintentional homage to John Gurche's famous painting of Sue.
