Folks have been asking for a larger Triceratops for years now, and they have had a record of making things the fans want, even if it could be a few years before they get to it, as they did with the Explorer and Apatosaurus, etc (though as Dominion was intended to release this year originally, it would have made sense to reserve their release for a movie year, but as it got delayed no point in holding any of those back, since they don't exactly pertain to it). Ditto for the capture gear as well come to think of it.

It's definitely something I would make space for though, and on that note I am wondering how and where I'll be managing stuff if I can successfully get around to picking some of it up such as the Carcharodontosaurus, and this future Pentaceratops, along with anything from next year's line, such as the inevitable Giganotosaurus, etc. My collection is pretty full at the moment.

I think perhaps next year we'll get some JPIII raptors in the mainline as well (not counting the poor attempt at the female, that was also in a poorly distributed set). We saw the JP raptor first in the Amber Collection in 2019, and then the following year in 2020 was a Legacy Collection set with two repaints that went for the look of them in the film. The fact the JPIII male is finally showing up, and in the Legacy Collection is a good sign, of hoping things to come for the mainline, as before. I think the releases of Nedry and Ray in both the Amber Collection, and then showing up as SDCC exclusives, before having mainline releases may be another sign of this. I think this new one in the SDCC Ray Arnold set is probably more in line with the animatronic, and maquette before being dulled in the film, by featuring the prominent striping, but still being simplified on the figure (although still unfortunate choice of sculpt, as the standing variant would have been more in line with the pose of the maquette for instance, but well I still appreciate the attempt made either way).

pretty sure we are getting a super colossal Giganotosaurus next year, after that not sure but a Trike would be great.

Ordered my two. I'm a little surprised it's coming as early as October, I had thought more like December.

The Behind the Gates video is worth the watch as well on Target's site, shows some different alterations and such they made for the figure.

Mega Destroyer Pentaceratops. Looks like Mattel's best ceratopsian yet, those grotesque feet notwithstanding. I'm totally get this for my boys' collection—if I can find one.

Yeah that's a must have for me. I'm really curious how this will size up alongside the upcoming BotM Pentaceratops.

Giganotosaurus

Anyone know what's up with the line down the middle of the Penta?

Perhaps that's part of the action feature? Maybe it rears up slightly when you push a button.

Really stoked about the Pentaceratops, it now takes its place as my most anticipated Mattel toy of the year. They do such a great job with these ceratopsians, I just wish they would get the digits right.

MLMjp

Pentaceratops looks cool but I not as excited as you guys for some reason. And its weird cause I am fond of the genus.

I guess it is the size issue which is very apparent thanks to the Amargasaurus next to it. I compared my Amargasaurus to other ceratopsians in my collection and...It will be the biggest ceratopsian yet, a bit larger than the Sinoceratops, I think the frill is the main reason this is a Mega Destroyer and that it won't tower over the other ceratopsian, but I wish it had been a Roar Attack.

ItsTwentyBelow

Pentaceratops looks pretty cool! Always thought "five-horned face" sounded awesome as a kid. The previous shot of how the Penta appears on the mobile app does suggest there will be more paint on the body of the finished toy.

The digits are at least no worse than on the Ouranosaurus, which I think many of us have already accepted. *sigh*

That would be cool if it does have some sort of "rearing" action to break out of its capture gear, per the joint around its middle.

CityRaptor

Looks good so far. Okay, there is the issue with the feet, but that fits the general style of the Jurassic Park/World Ceratopsians.

Also nice that we are getting all the campers, even if I have no interest in collecting them. The Brooklyn & Monlophosaurus set also does not make the Kenji & Monolophosaurus set redundant since several Monolophosaurus ( & rollers ) appeared in the show, so it is good for pack building, too. The only thing I would have changed is packing Sammy with something other than a Raptor, unless that one is a season 4 spoiler...
Yep, Darius is clearly their Owen. Guess the Brachiosaurus is supposed to be a young male...or Shorty.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Yup, I've accepted the weird inaccuracies of these toys right since the beginning. They're unfortunate but rarely deal breakers. The Ouranosaurus is one of my most anticipated toys of the year too.

Pachyrhinosaurus

The head sculpt looks good. I was immediately reminded of the planned Battat pentaceratops. It's disappointing the feet are the way they are, since they don't even match the triceratops animatronic seen in the film. They should be much more elephantine to fit in with the established style.

Not a problem for me though since I don't collect their non-movie dinosaurs.

The MD Stegosaurus has a joint in its torso that looks just like the Pentaceratops'. Perhaps the latter's gimmick will be similar.

Wait, Penta has the wrong amount of digits? Which other figures besides Penta , Ouranosaurus and Concavenator have the wrong amount of digits?
