avatar_Reuben03 @Reuben03 Just a heads up but you are going to be disappointed with what they did with the Elasmosaurus and Tylosaurus heads as well. At least the Ichthyosaurus, Plesiosaurus, and Attenborosaurus are pretty nice looking.

WHY IS THE ELASMOSAURUS LIKE THAT. WHY.

the tylosaurus has such a nice body i can excuse it. its just the teeth. goes to show, awesomebro doesn't necessarily mean cooler.
Tylo isn't even awesomebro, it's just british

EVERYONE IS SAYING THIS LOL ;D

yeah tbh most of us have perfectly fine teeth, its just really old people (as that'll happen with age) or the odd one or two with bad teeth
Ok bri'ish person
(I guess you could say that im technically also british though lol)

Well I got mine preordered and ready to download tomorrow for the Xbox.
I've stopped myself from watching anymore videos from BestnSlot and other such streamers. Kinda wanna experience it all on my own.

That being said I did come across how some of the marine reptiles look. And well,...
I'm all for artistic interpretation, but those might be my least used animals when I'm setting up parks. Kinda like the Deinonychus in the first game.

yeah its insulting to the real thing. when will people realise nothing comes close to the beauty of the real animal?

Guess I better go and get the lists in the op updated now that the game is out. Additionally here is the Day 1 patch notes in case anyone is curious:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/jurassic-world-evolution-2-day-one-patch-notes.593087/

While I don't have access to the game yet, based on what I've seen:

Pack hunting still need a nerf, herbivores need majorly buffed, and JPIII Pteranodon was already found in the game files, despite not being obtainable in the game. JP mode in challenge and sandbox does not get access to aviaries and lagoons, and I'm pretty sure the remaining RtJP decorations that were cut (alongside all the place-able trees from the first game), including some important ones like the raptor pen, are still gone, and will hopefully get added back in by Frontier or suffice to say it, modders unofficially (PC only however). From the looks of it they still need to add back in the no combat option for sandbox as well, and additionally add in a no or max stats scientist option for sandbox, and instant incubation. Some more decorations for both aviaries (specifically things designed for the pterosaurs to perch on, since they can with most of the decorations, which may look out of place perhaps) and lagoons would be good (which has no real customization currently).

Another thing I'm really disappointed on, is that the one vs one/turn based combat system has returned, specifically between small theropods vs small theropods, medium-large theropods between other medium-large theropods, or armored herbivores, just like in the first game. I've seen enough videos from BestInSlot, TheGamingBeaver, and Evolution Square that shows this system has returned. Rather counterintuitive to the whole "dynamic" system this game was supposed to have. Or, perhaps a shame my expectations were too high, based on what could be done within a near 20 year old game now.

Well looks like keeping my expectations in check wasn't an unwise move. I'm still totally going to get the game though, at some point. Probably sooner rather than later, if my excitement overtakes my apprehension.

Question for anyone who may know: If i purchase the Deluxe Dinosaur Pack on PS4 (just the dinosaur pack add-on, not the entire deluxe edition game), can that purchase be acessed on the PS5, or do I have to buy it again?

I know about the ps4 version of the game being upgradeable to the ps5 version, but I'm wondering about dlc items.

Giganotosaurus

Is there a "free" mode where you don't need to spend in game money to buy dinos and such?
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

There is a sandbox, but animals and buildings need to be unlocked by playing Campaign, Challenge and Chaos Theory

So far I'm enjoying the game, but the micromanaging can be a tedious.

So take this with a grain of salt, but might be getting a new DLC soon (quite frankly we need bug fixes asap, but the first game often got patches alongside DLC, for better or worse).

That said, I don't recall seeing any mods yet for this one, so unless this is a really good photoshop, this might be legit. Unless this is for a as of yet unreleased mod... In any case this pterosaur is one that has been asked for a number of times, so even if this is fake it would not shock me if ends up in the game eventually.

Delisaurus Steven

I do hope we at least get a patch soon. I'm getting very tired of dealing with dinosaurs randomly phasing through fences. Also I would love it if they would make some adjustments to the animations for bipedal animals tails; I feel like they're a little too rubbery. It makes it seem like there are no bones past their hips (especially ironic for the tetanuran dinosaurs featured in the game).

Faelrin

avatar_Delisaurus Steven @Delisaurus Steven That was one of the issues from the first game that never got patched. Really hoping they don't make the same mistake twice here.

Also the DLC pack is real after all. Still hoping there is a major patch released alongside these. Granted I'm also not a fan of the fact there's already yet another DLC a month later, which should have just been in the base game at this rate (including the Day 1 Deluxe pack). I think perhaps waiting until this game goes on sale might be a better decision. I don't want to support business practices like this at full price. Hopefully then most of the serious issues will have been fixed. At least the new species look good and grounded this time around. Shocked to see the highly requested Concavenator didn't get the cut here.

Spoiler
New species include Dsungaripterus, Minmi, Wuerhosaurus, and Kronosaurus. I guess I'll be getting the op updated tonight after all.

These look nice, although I do agree that at this point they should've just come in the base game. Hopefully this just means that Frontier have plans for lots of other animals to be added in over the game's lifespan. I also find it strange that Concavenator still hasn't been added; between its popularity and the fact that it appeared in Fallen Kingdom I was honestly surprised it wasn't a part of the launch lineup.

Keep in mind species that will appear in Dominion are likely being barred from appearing and will come closer to the films release.

Short rundown:
- more building style
- all 5 campaign missions avaiable in sandbox
- flat version of all sandbox maps
- Pterosaurs can now perch on rocks
- Less storms and diseases
- Less dinosaurs dominance fights and lower chance of injury
- Pack hunting nerfed, mainly stat reduction

I will wait with getting the game until it gets its first sale and major bugs and balance issues are solved (mainly Sandbox being a true sandbox with no combat option). Nice to see that Frontier seems to go the Planet Zoo route though, pairing each paid DLC with a free content patch.

Day/Month 1 DLC are nothing new nowaday, I will take the same approach to JW2s DLC as I did with the first games and Planet Zoo: buy these that have content I actually want and are worth the price (or wait until they are on sale) and ignore the rest.

avatar_Grimbeard @Grimbeard I am very pleased with what I saw over on reddit here. I'll check out the video shortly. Edit: Yes the lack of no way to disable combat in sandbox disappoints me as well. I am looking forward to the patch notes. I also made a short list of major bugs I've seen in my reddit post here that I'm hoping will be addressed. I have yet to get the game and am in no particular rush either, since I have plenty of other games to occupy myself with (like Skyrim again, if not the original JWE), but I'll see based on the communities feedback on how things go after this next patch.

I still have a huge list of things I have issues with which I posted earlier in this thread I think, or here originally as well, but in due time hopefully. This is a really good start though, and helps make up for some of what I was disappointed with after the Day 1 patch dropped. As far as Concavenator goes...
Spoiler
I've not seen any leaks of such, but it is such a hugely requested species, so I think we'll get it eventually, one way or another. Yutyrannus is another which might happen after Dominion releases, since it makes sense to hold back any feathered animals until then anyways.
