Definitely Dracorex. The skull has the spikes and the shape characteristic of it. Come to think of it, the colors are also similar to the previous game's take on it, at least what can be seen then.

Ah yeah I can see it better now. Hopefully since Albertosaurus & Nigersaurus have been shown in the alpha footage, that means that at least some of the DLC dinosaurs from last time will be included in the base game.

Feature focus on Challenge and Sandbox modes:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/feature-focus-challenge-and-sandbox-mode.586835/

Once again tying completion of campaign, etc, to unlocking stuff for sandbox. Not a fan of that tbh, and neither are a lot of people. Not sure I'm going to be a fan of the limit of species for Challenge mode as well. The lack of info here is a bummer as well.

Meh. :/

A bit of info (recap) of the scientist management feature, as well as a first look at Baryonyx, and a better look at Parasaurolophus (still appears to have that disappointing bipedal walking from the first game):

Something that I am noticing is that JWE2 seems to be more aware of Ceratopsian size. It's not just "Trike but with different face". The Chasmosaurus and a new picture of the Nasutoceratops seem to show them being smaller, in a more accurate size range. Nice to see that.

Isn't that how it is in the movies though?

Still disappointing.

One of the scientist profiles says that they give you access to "armoured herbivores in the Tendaguru Formation"; I assume this is confirmation that Kentrosaurus will be in the game as there aren't any other thyreophorans from the Tendaguru.

Yeah quite a few dinosaurs are actually shown in that shot. It's very hard to make out some of them but they are there.

(those proper renders are just there for reference)
I hope we can be able to change the color patterns of all the Pachycephalosaurus growth stages so it looks like they are the same animal.

Yeah it's possible all of those will show up. Kentrosaurus is a popular stegosaurid so I would expect it to return. At least the Gallimimus, Dracorex, and Pachycephalosaurus, are certainly in (though I had no doubts the film animals would return) as we now have video and/or image confirmation. I imagine reusing the icons there from the first game are simply placeholders as were the ones in the other video showing the Albertosaurus, etc, images.

Gwangi

Happy to see Dryosaurus and Homalocephale returning, they were two of my favorites. Adorable, with some great skin choices too.

Faelrin

I guess I'm late to sharing this info, but some really cool news dropped today. First we got confirmation of the Dimorphodon coming to the game, with a slightly revised design (although they dropped the pycnofibers disappointingly, but on the other hand it gained lips, but I guess from what I've been seeing that's what the CC redesign looked like as well):

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/species-field-guide-dimorphodon.587422/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhz3wGOSL3A

Seems to be confirmation of the fish feeder returning (in the background water at 19-20 secs in, though Jens Erik on the Frontier forums confirms it will be returning as well), and there's also this bit:

QuoteOf course, you'll still need to keep an eye on Dimorphodon for escapes! In Jurassic World Evolution 2, escaped flying reptiles will likely be found perching on things in your park or building territory to fulfil their comfort requirements - when they're not attacking guests and some of your dinosaurs!

They also confirmed we can keep multiple species of pterosaurs together in the aviary as well (and that the aviary itself is just to protect the guests from the pterosaurs. I wonder if they can intentionally be let out of the aviary for Sandbox mode...). This is already shaping up much better then I would have expected honestly.

Would there be any interest in setting up an official predictions/wishlist thread for species and/or mechanics we want to see included in the game? Or do people think it would be better to keep it confined to just the one thread?

Not the most exciting, but we have a species profile on Pteranodon now (alongside a brief glimpse of one flying outside the aviary). I think the pattern of new animal, returning animal, is pretty much established at this point, or at least for the meantime:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/species-field-guide-pteranodon.587924/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfEH--TJ_fY

I think this may have been established before with last week's Dimorphodon reveal, but Jens Erik confirmed on the Frontier Forums the fish feeder for the Aviary is the same as the one for outside it, meaning that if a Pteranodon has escaped out of the aviary it can use one in a dinosaurs exhibit that it might come across.

That sounds good! I love the Idea of invisible (Switchable) Aviaries in Prehistoric Kingdom. Having Pterosaurs outside is absolutely wonderful for Sandbox Mode when creating a Biome without Parkstuff and Boders. Great great. I also hope for Modsupport. Sorry if i missed something about Modsupport, but i would think it is a bit too early for infos on that. But this will be a Selling Point for me :)

The trend of returning, then new, continues with this week's newly revealed Qianzhousaurus!:

Gotta say this was a complete and total surprise for me here. I was not expecting them to add this one into the game. I really like the coloration it has here too.

Also I am really behind on sharing this feature focus here, regarding tour improvements (lots of quality of life changes, some of which modder's achieved for the first game):

I was hoping for Alioramus, but this is ok too.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Im guessing the reason Qianzhousaurus is starting to overshadow Alioramus recently is just because Qianzhousaurus was larger?
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Qianzhou is likely in the game because Jurassic World's new scientific advisor, Steve Brusatte, was one of the people who discovered it
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Gwangi

Excited to see Qianzhousaurus in the game, the model for it looks great too, as far as I can tell.
