I'm kind of disappointed with the launch items to be honest. The Allosaurus is a must for me, but I have no room (nor interest, frankly) in a giant dragon. Also, it seems this offering of the Smilodon will be 1/12 scale, at least according to his comment in today's post.

It's especially frustrating that Stegosaurus and Pachycephalosaurus will not be coming in this initial launch as well. Well, I suppose we'll see how this goes. I hope it succeeds, but the offerings leave a lot to be desired to me.

I am pretty sure with how kickstarters work, the others will be stretch goals, which usually all get unlocked. There is no need to be upset, unless I am missing something.

Honestly it is a huge relief to me some of these are coming after the kickstarter. I have a huge wishlist to contend with and can only afford so many of these at once. We still don't have prices yet either, but well it is only a few weeks away. At best I think the Utahraptor and Achillobator will be like the same price range as their BotM counterparts up for pre-order. I think the Arctic dragon was confirmed it was going to be over $200? I wouldn't doubt it anyways.

Yutyrannus and Dryptosaurus should have a similar price to their previous BotM counterparts.

So that leaves the humans, Allosaurus, Smilodon, Carnotaurus, Dilophosaurus, Deinonychus and all the armor contraptions. Deinonychus I imagine will be the cheapest from its small size, perhaps in the same ballpark as the small tyrannosaurs like Guanlong, Proceratosaurus, etc.

I'm not too worried about the inital offerings, as I expect the other stretch goals to be unlocked rather quickly. It may not be Tyrannosaurus, but there's still a lot of fan favorite theropods this time around, and one of the most popular prehistoric mammals, a first for any of his lines. That said I ultimately want Allosaurus, Utahraptor, Arctic Dragon, Smilodon, Carnotaurus, Dilophosaurus, and Deinonychus, but depending on the prices will determine how much I can go for. Got until early November I think, or like 30 days after it starts on October 3rd to save up still. Plus there's also the backerkit survey store thing that launches after the kickstarter ends so one has additional time to take advantage of the typical discounted kickstarter pricing.

Edit: Prices for the following BotM figures in case this might be helpful to plan ahead in the next few weeks:
$24.99 (Retail price) Dromaeosaurus, Linheraptor, Protoceratops, Psittacosaurus, Velociraptor
$39.99 $34.99 (Pre-order price) Eotyrannus, Moros
$39.99 (Retail price) Guanlong, Proceratosaurus, Suskityrannus
$39.99 - $49.99 (Retail Price) Various 1/6 raptors, and some ceratopsians
$59.99 $54.99 (Pre-order price) Alectrosaurus
$59.99 (Retail Price) Dilong, juvenile Tyrannosaurus, Teratophoneus, Qianzhousaurus
$79.99 $69.99 (Pre-order price) Achillobator, Utahraptor
$89.99 (Retail price) Bistahieversor, Dryptosaurus, Lythronax, Yutyrannus
$139.99 $124.99 (Pre-order price) Albertosaurus, Daspletosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Tarbosaurus
$229.99 (Retail price) adult Tyrannosaurus

The ones I've excluded include the 1/35 T. rex, unpainted T. rex figures, and some of the ceratopsians.

To me, it's both a shame and a relief that not all the dinosaurs will be a part of the Kickstarter 😅

suspsy

I'm actually not going to pledge in this one; there's nothing that I want. Although I may just donate some money to it because I want it to succeed. :)

avatar_Giganotosaurus @Giganotosaurus The ones at launch will be Allosaurus, Utahraptor, Yutyrannus (repaint), Carnotaurus, Achillobator, Dilophosaurus, Dryptosaurus (repaint), Deinonychus, Smilodon, Arctic Dragon, Lizard Dragon, and of course some humans and the armors as well (all sold separately, or through bundles). In fact here's the image that was shared, that also shows which items are launch items (rest are stretch goals):

Things like the Acrocanthosaurus, Andrewsarchus, Pachycephalosaurus, and Stegosaurus already shown will come later. David confirmed Cryolophosaurus, Edmontonia, Kentrosaurus, Miragaia, Sauropelta are still in the works, with some far along, in response to a question someone on the FB page asked him.

I saw that comment too. But not sure I'm interpreting it right, do you think he meant that some of those genera you mention will be coming in quite a long while, or did he refer to other genera he's also planning to release that will be coming far along?

He also said:

Quote from: Creative Beast StudioIt would likely be at least 2 years in between each one, but funding for these items will open up opportunities for preorder only releases afterward to help flesh out the line more in the meantime.

So we're probably looking at 2025 for the 2nd Cyberzoic Kickstarter. If that's the case, I'm wondering when we might be seeing those genera David expressed interest in making in the past, like Gallimimus, Amargasaurus, Suchomimus... A Gallimimus would be amazing. Probably by 2027/28?

On another hand, I would really be surprised if we saw a 1:35 Allosaurus (or any other dinosaur) being offered for this campaign. I asked David once and he told me the 1:35 releases are BotM-exclusive, and this is a Cyberzoic Kickstarter...  ::) He told me he planned to release more 1:35 figures, though. Looking forward to that, whenever that might be.

BlueKrono

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator I'd be all over an Amargasaurus. Possibly a Suchomimus as well.

Kickstarter is about a week and a half away now. Cannot wait!

Here's the finished Lizard/Forest Dragon sculpt:

QuoteFor today's Cyberzoic Friday reveal, we get our first look at the second dragon prototype- the Lizard Dragon! (a.k.a Forest Dragon) Sculpted by Aaron Doyle with molding and casting by Jeremy Monz. Some of you may recognize this design based on my old 'Dragon vs. Raptors' kit from a while back. 4" Boba Fett for scale.

David also confirmed in an instagram comment that the Lizard Dragon prototype will be painted up like the model kit as seen here:

David also posted the finished concept art of the Cyberzoic Yutyrannus in a FB comment (coloration based on the common raven):

He also shared progress yesterday of the wip paint process being done by Matt on the social accounts.

^ Awesome, yeah that yutyrannus paint job looks incredible! Also heard it will get new neck articulated as well, hope the rest of the tyrannosaurids also get new neck articulation as well to.

Also the smilodon looks great, also armor as well. And that allosaurus looks phenomenal! And is decked out in some pretty impressive armor, wonder what the fire clan armor will look like for the A. fragilis species? And the fire clan armor can probably be used for the tech clan  allo species to.

Wonder when they will reveal the ceratosaurus? Also the Kickstarter is really close! Going to be epic, also alot of cool variety of species, hope to see those herbivores like the  nodosaurids And stegosaurids. Also it's really cool David mentioned amargasaurus for a smaller sauropod, hoping also for a shunosaurus one day.

I can hardly believe it's only a week away now. This year has been pretty rough financially for me, and also for my depression. Every month I throw a little bit of funds on my cards, depending how much I have on hand, to keep my 100% paid on time rate, with the rest of the funds getting absorbed in the bills, essentials like food, etc, and keeping me, and my family at the motel for the foreseeable future.

I've had to juggle expenses between essentials, occasional fomo pre-orders, and other collecting wants, so saving up throughout the year hasn't gone to plan one bit (especially not with last month's expenses). I'm hoping I can at least contribute $200 minimum by the time it ends, if I'm lucky. That said, I'll get what I can get and be grateful. That said whatever I can't get in the coming month, I'm sure I can always get later, a little bit marked up, but hopefully no big deal. At the very least, if everything goes according to plan, and everything is funded, it will just be great to have made it to this point.

In any case I'm extremely grateful David and fellow artists have made this project a reality. Despite how bad things got for me this year, it gave me a light at the end of the tunnel to keep striving forward. I'm so glad to still be here in the now, to have finally made it this far, and hopefully farther to see these things in my hands someday, joining some of the previous ones like last campaign's Yutyrannus, and so on.

Edit: David mentioned in a FB comment the pricing will be revealed on Friday:

"I'll have Kickstarter pricing info on Friday" and "I'm hoping to make an announcement with the launch info by Friday."

Imho it would be too expensive and time consuming to upgrade the necks of all Tyrannos, specially since most of them have already modified necks so it wouldn't be that necessary to change them (not to mention that the people who bought the original versions would be really upset). Personally, for me it would be enough if T Rex, Yutyrannus and maybe Dryptosaurus got new neck designs. And thankfully David has shown a possitive reception to the idea of doing them, at least regarding the first two. So we should get them sooner or later, specially Yuty since it's on the Cyberzoic Kickstarter.

Btw I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this: Drypto's paintjob WIP finally revealed

Very True, would certainly be pretty costly, though indeed, hope at least the Tyrannosaurus rex gets a new neck design, and the drypto on the Kickstarter as well. Also nice, and Wow! Didn't even know that painted up WIP drypto colors was showcased yet, looks really awesome, and very fitting color scheme for the fire clan. Also hope to see the painted up Deinonychus to.

David96

Same here, thankfully it should be very likely that we will get new neck designs for T Rex and Yuty (possibly for Drypto too). And offcourse here also waiting for the Deino here since it's the last one missing :)
