Bread

Has this ever happened before? Even before Mattel started producing JP/JW merchandise, and when Hasbro was the producer.

avatar_Bread @Bread I can't remember anyone (prominent) getting their accounts banned for showing off pics or reviewing figures they bought, in the time I've been collecting Jurassic stuff since 2015. Lord knows how many people got their hands on stuff (me included), before street date in 2018 when Toys 'R Us went under here in the US, never mind other places like Japan, etc.

Granted my memory is garbage at times too, but this still feels unprecedented. The only thing I do recall happening is when both Jurassic Outpost and/or Collect Jurassic shared the Troodon, etc, wave earlier then they were supposed to after NY Toy Fair 2020, because those pics were sent to them ahead of time by mistake, and those posts got deleted. But again, once it's let out, there's no putting it back.

Again it is strange that Trevorrow himself namedropped the thing, there is already merch being revealed officially(?) that has renders of it out there, let alone some toys sold in big name retailer stores (Target) like the Goo-Jit-Zu toys, etc. I also would not be shocked if it shows up in the trailer(s). Edit: A lot of effort to hide this thing from public view, when they didn't do nearly as much of for the Indoraptor, Scorpios Rex, etc, prior. Anyone find that odd or just me?

Anyways all of the sites that listed those basic figures in advance, like the Brazilian site, Toy Wiz, etc, have since had them removed now, so they are cracking down on them as well. Good thing I backed up the images ahead of time.

Big companies protect their trademarks with a frequently unsettling ferocity all the time. Disney once refused to allow a child's headstone to have an engraving of Spider-Man on it.

Yeah, it's probably due to Universal, Mattel is just the one that has to do it.

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Hate to continue being the one pouring the cold water, but I really don't think any amount of DMing Mattel will accomplish anything. They've made their move, it's in all likelihood 100% legal, and if they were to back down now, it would probably create a legal precedent that would hinder their ability to protect the trademark in the future. Universal would be furious at Mattel.

I think your on point. Universal has seen leaks and went ballistic on Mattel to solve it or else.  They really wanted to keep some thing secret I guess?     Without a Toyfair again this year Mattel really needs to get some official release together and just announce the products
for the next couple quarters.

So Collect Jurassic's website is no longer deactivated (checked after a recent twitter post). Everything seems to be back in working order up there. Hopefully a good sign? Instagram account is still banned however.

Interesting. Thank you for this information. I really don't understand a companies' hate towards leaks especially if they build up hype and constructive criticism which could allow last minute repairs. Also, I did a little research for myself, figured I'd provide it.

Now, I am new to collecting Star wars black series, but I've noticed that leaks are shared or items being sold before their street day being available to the public are pretty common. Again, this is Hasbro's issue and not mattels, but again these leaks/early arrivals set up hype. Heck I check my local targets and walmarts twice a week hunting for some of these shared rumored possible pickups. I see fellow collectors on reddit sharing this info and it just continues fuel my overall want and hype for said figures. Wonder why this is such an issue for mattel, because if anything these shared rumors/leaks build up fans' desires for a figure (or more).

I just recently checked Mattel's instagram and wow I love reading those supportive comments to those facing these backlashes from Mattel. Hopefully more information will be released soon from either those affected or by Mattel themselves.

Creative Beast Studio had this to say

Quote"I wanted to address the sudden removal of social media accounts for Andy's Dinosaur Reviews (YouTube) and Collect Jurassic (Instagram) due to early 'reveals' of Mattel's Jurassic World: Dominion toys. As many of you know, Andy has been a huge supporter of my Beasts of the Mesozoic line in addition to many other dinosaur lines from smaller companies. And while admittedly I do not collect the Jurassic World toys myself, I was a fan of Collect Jurassic on Instagram for their high-quality toy photos. So it goes without saying that this is an extremely inappropriate  and unnecessary response to these content creators who've given so much of of their time to support Mattel's products over the past few years, when a simple warning would've sufficed. As it stands, Andy's YouTube account is in danger of being deleted within the next five days and Collect Jurassic's account has already been removed on Instagram. It may be helpful for people to reach out to Mattel, YouTube and Instagram directly about this issue, but I think this is a good opportunity for us acknowledge the people who give their time and effort to inform the dinosaur collector community, and how special their contributions are.
I'll be posting links in the comments here for Andy's new YouTube channel, a video from Laura Legends explaining all of this way better than I can, and a direct link to Collect Jurassic's main web page where you can follow them on their various social media platforms. I sincerely hope that this is reversed by Mattel, but we can't expect anything to happen. What we can do is rally behind our content creators and show our gratitude by supporting them during this time. We see now that we can't take their work for granted, but it can all continue with the help of our community. Thanks everyone!"

Collect Jurassic has his instagram account back!

Now fingers crossed Andy can have his account saved... I'm literally working on downloading all his vids, copying his descriptions into txt files, and saving his thumbnail images from googling them. I got a terabyte a while back for my Skyrim mods, and I have like over 800 gigs of space still on it, so I'll be using a good chunk of that to help Andy out if the worst comes to pass for him.

I'm also glad David made posts on his social accounts to raise awareness as well, especially with his larger following.

Colctjurassic did not go into details, but apparently mistakes were made.

Given that several Jurassic Park fans already hated on Mattel before for various reasons ( really all boiling down to Mattel not being Kenner ), this will probably still not help.

Spoiler for the trailer, but:

Spoiler
I called it. Pyroraptor did show up there after all. Feels like pouring salt in the wound, more so for Andy now, that will probably still get banned which will be a major loss for the dinosaur collecting community, regardless if you watch video reviews or not. He's reviewed so many things, some that probably haven't been reviewed here or elsewhere. His general positive attitude is certainly a blessing aa well. Much better then me in that regard.

Yeah I just check Andy's IG and he still hasn't heard anything it's complete bs at this point if he loses his channel after based on what CollectJurassic said is a mistake on Mattels part.

Grimbeard

Which i can somewhat understand that Mattel wants to protect its brand, this is at least two steps too harsh and detrimental for everyone involved.

Crossing my fingers for Andy's channel. I actually value video reviews quite a lot, I think they give one (or at least me) the best impression of a figure. Really like his postive attitude for every figure he reviewed, even the most questionable ones.

Dynomikegojira

According to Andy there's should be an update soon and he seems optimistic so here's to hoping for some good news.

Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Looks like a Battle Damage version of Allosaurus.

Let's hope so. Andy does a good job, even if the people in the comment section aren't very bright.

Anybody know what this is?
Extreme damage Allosaurus, just saw it on JPtoys instagram.

Also, more reveals thanks to JPtoys
Extreme damage Velociraptor

Extreme damage Coelurus

Extreme damage Allosaurus

Extreme damage T.rex

Brachiosaurus repaint that resembles the blue crested variant from Fallen Kingdom.

Walmart exclusives. Up for pre-order now from what I've heard. I'm digging the raptor repaint. Reminds me of the Camoxtreme Arctic Tyrannosaurus.

Allosaurus is finally bigger and has a longer tail. Just wish the head sculpt was more film accurate, and not based off the outdated concept art (mostly the crest placement). Hope the stability issue with the legs is fixed too.

Edit: Looks like avatar_MLMjp @MLMjp got the images added while I was getting my post worked on. Don't need these pics twice then.

Also thought I would update that I got all (but one?) of Andy's 2018, 2017, and 2022 vids backed up. Gonna work on 2019's today. Really hope things work out for him, but I'll do what I can to help him out so he hopefully doesn't lose everything if worse comes to pass.
