Thanks everyone, this group is really fun and a joy to study ;D
If I have more time, I really want to take more compassion shots of these new figures with some older ones, but we shall see, time is so precious these days.
Now I really wish that t rex would hurry up already! :D

The feathered tyrannosaurus rex of Collecta 2018 is going to be a very pleasant surprise for many people, at least for me and I point out that it will be even better than its predecessor in the market.

What you have to check how is its sustainability as a figure since it lacks a pedestal like the other figures. Time will tell.

For me it is going to be the best theropod in the history of Collecta along with ceratosaurus. Thanks in advance Boki for your artistic photos!

What is a compassion shot?

I think he means 'comparison' shot. Which makes more sense at least!

;D Yeah, that's what i mean, darn iPhone auto correct! :D
Well, just one comparison for you guys, have been very busy to take photos lately, plus I have been enjoying sculpting ;D I'm starting my own thread of all of my sculpts instead of adding them here. That way it would be easier to find.
So  if you are curious about what I have been up to lately, check it out! :))
Here is the CollectA Bronto with Safari's Malawisaurus, they make a good pair and are about the same size. Cheers!

Shonisaurus

Thanks for the photo Bokisaurus the brontosaurus of Collecta for what I see is much bigger than I imagined and that is just a standard figure XL

The brontosaurus coloring is quite discreet and elegant and the figure is beautifully sculpted. It is almost as big as malawisaurus.

I never knew the ROM had their own set, they are charming, but the furriest dinos I've seen in a while.

Bokisaurus

Oh myyyyy, it's been ages since I updated this tread! :)) It's been a busy summer and I have also been having a great time sculpting, taking up so much of my free time.
So, for those of you following, here is a quick one ;D
Today, we have a trio of SEGA Vignetteum to share. These guys are small figures that comes in small diorama bases.
Despite the size, the figures are well detailed, even those small animals that comes on the bases. I really like these figures, unfortunately, I only have 3 of them. I believe their were more.
The trio I have are the Ankle, pteranodon, and rex.

I got these figures years ago. They were rare back then, so I can only imaging that they are even rarer and more expensive now.
If you ever get a chance to get them, I highly recommend them. It is not often that figures with bases comes with additional animals to accompany the dinos ^-^

Thanks for looking, till next time, Cheers!

Hi, Bokisaurus.
Nice collection.
Those three are still available at CLAWMARK's.
There are three other more that exist - look at my thread HERE.

Actualy, the one that considered RARE and expensive is the Amargasaurus.

They sure are. If I had know you were interested in them I would have offered you my extras.
Of those I'm missing, the Amarga is the one I'm really hoping to one day acquire, too bad it's just so expensive for such a small figure.

Bases with additional creatures are a rare treat. I do wish they'd been based on animals actually known to co-occur with the focal species, or been in any way identified.

Bokisaurus

Well, not intentionally neglecting this thread, just hav't caught up with photographing many of my figures, not to mention the back log of newer ones as well ;D
Anyway, today, we go back in time, tot he 90's.
I'm sure many of you are aware of this line of large articulated dinosaurs. Say Hi tot he Carnage Dinosaur Series by Resaurus. These figures were released in the late 1990, I got mine in 99 from Toys R Us.
The figures are large, very much like some JP figures. Most of the figuresl comes articulated in the mouth, neck, arms, legs. The huge theropods were so unstable and weak at the articulation joint that they can't stand even with the base and rod that came with them. It was frustrating trying to display them.

In general, I am not a fan of articulated, action figure-like dinosaurs.
At one time, I had most of the figures i the series like the Velociraptor, Rex, etc. A few years back, I donated most of them to a friend who really like them. I kept all the ceratopsians as they are my favorites, as well the the stego.
Recently, while going over my collection, I found that the Gigantosaurus managed to avoid being donated ;D For now, I will keep him since he is a nice sculpt, one of the the first toy version of this species.
My personal favorite is the Styracosaurs, I just love this guy!
Anyway, hope you enjoy this little trip down history ;D

You may still find them on eBay, not sure how easy or how much they are going for these days. Anyway, it's a fun set especially if you like articulated large figures.
Thanks for looking, till next time, Cheers!

The Carnage Dinosaur series by Resaurus its figures are beautiful, although I also have to say that I am not a follower of the excessively articulated figures, I also assert that they have a fairly acceptable figure of protoceratops considering that this figure is very rare in the toy market conventional.

On the other hand the stegosaurus is based on the famous figure of Safari, the colors are very similar and the position of the figure with its Safari counterpart is very similar.

The styracosaurus although its colors are a little strong does not stop being an acceptable figure although I sincerely prefer its counterpart Resaurus triceratops its colors are more realistic.

Anyway as you say is a fun set and serves to expand the network of hobbies of both a collector and especially a child. I congratulate you for your Bokisaurus photos and in passing I congratulate you for your tremendous criticism of the gomphotherium in dinotoyblog.com your photographs are magnificent. Thank you!

Digibasherx

Ah yes, the Carnage series.  I never found these in big box stores, even though I knew they were being released.  Years later, I found the Rex at Winners (discount chain) and bought the Styraco, Stego, Protoceratops on Amazon for a decent price ($25 USD ea plus shipping).  I always wanted the Triceratops but alas, it escapes me.  Once BotM releases their ceratopsians, it should replace most figures in this line for me.

I found for the Rex, the tail overtime starts to detach from the  hind quarters since it's a softer material.  I really wished the sculpt of the legs were different, since one leg is sculpted raised, it's hard to get it in a neutral pose.

Bokisaurus

Well, it's been a while since my last post.
So, I figured I should post and try to catch up with the back-log of new figures waiting to be photographed ;D
Today, I managed to upload photos of the Safari Feathered Tyrannosaurus, which I got a few month ago. I was waiting for some other figures , but got sidetracked and never finished what I originally wanted to do.
So anyway, here he is with his new buddies.
Good figure and very heavy for sure. So far, it has remained stable with no tipping over issues.... yet, but I can see that being an issue in the near future unfortunately.

With his new friends ^-^

And with some of his more recent predecessors

Cheers!

Fits right in with the bullies, laughing at poor Kaiyodo ;D

Nimravus

Hi Boki,
thanks for the photos comparing models. They are very useful when you are guided by the scale, as I am! The last year's Safari Tyranno is wonderful, I love it!

ceratopsian

Beautiful photos again. The models are stunningly lit. And I love your caption about him joining the bullies - fits perfectly!  The Kaiyodo looks so miserable.

Shonisaurus

Thank you for the photos of the various tyrannosaurus rex from the various toy companies compared. By the way, you need the feathered tyrannosaurus rex of Collecta 2018. I have seen it in pictures on the Internet and I can assure you that it is a figure beauty.
