My wallet is crying after purchasing the Argentinosaurus. So I will have to wait on these. I'm really skeptical about how well they will stand, but they look great! Hoping the other paint scheme for the Styracosaurus is a bit more exciting.

Quote from: Pinbacker on December 05, 2024, 04:42:07 PMSafari's Majungasaurus is fine, but it is way too big to scale with most of my collection. I wish Safari Ltd. would pick one scale and stick to it.

Haolonggood's model has much finer sculpting as well, and I prefer the pose to Safari's.

I wish Wild Past would have released their Majungasaurus sooner, even though I'm not sure their paint job would have done that terrific sculpt justice.

I'm glad Safari uses a variety of scales because it means smaller animals (Estemmenosuchus, Microraptor, Stegouros, etc.) aren't off limits to them. That said, for a larger animal like Majungasaurus I also prefer 1:35.

And yeah, bummer about the WP Majungasaurus, which looks like it might finally debut right alongside this one.

I couldn't resist. I bought the sandy boi. I love those blue parts.

DefinitelyNOTDilo

My Argentinosaurus has arrived! It's fantastic, I'm practically speechless. Worth every penny! Putting some pics here but there'll be more in Recent Acquisitions, including comparisons.

DefinitelyNOTDilo

And of course the little guy, Huayangosaurus. Having it in hand, I fully understand why it was a preorder exclusive. The detail is insane, the scales are I daresay smaller and crisper than most PNSO models, the spike tips are miniscule, and the paint job is not only detailed but immaculate. There's no way they could realistically mass produce something of this quality. Like before, more pics in Recent Acquisions!

Looks fantastic! My purple Argentinosaurus should be here tomorrow, I'm excited!

The sandy one is growing on me.

I believe that Safari Ltd (?) human figure is in 1:40 scale.

If this Wiki image is accurate, HLG's Majungasaurus looks like it would fit 1:35 quite well?

Paleo Flo

I ordered Sandy yesterday. I couldn't resist it. Great colour and proportions.

I'm eagerly awaiting my big fella, but he's stuck due to Canada post strike  :'(

Concavenator

Both the Majungasaurus and the Styracosaurus look great! I guess the other Styracosaurus variant will be more colorful, but regardless, even as it is right now, I'll be replacing PNSO's with it, if HLG's will be in 1:35 scale which I expect it will. PNSO's is very good, but larger than I'd prefer. I'll wait until we learn what size HLG's Styraco will be, and maybe a size comparison with PNSO's, or other ceratopsid figures, before I sell off my PNSO.

If it's not much trouble, could you show it compared to HLG's Carnotaurus? I remembered you have it. Would be cool to see the two 1:35 abelisaurs side by side!

That's CollectA's scale human figure, which is included with their Deluxe figures, and yes, it's in 1:40 scale.

As you say, the Majungasaurus appears to be in 1:35 scale, or pretty close, anyways. Not surprised, for a while now, HLG's models have generally been quite true to the 1:35 scale they're advertised at.

Yes, I do have the HLG carnotaurus (which is a really nice figure for the size) and I will compare them both in the picture.
I chose the Sandy one because it reminds me a bit of the colours of Ugueto's drawing (which I love) that was also the base design of the Prehistoric Planet model, but it ended much darker. So any colour -sand or dark- will fit, yep, it is a nice model.

My 131 Argentinosaurus just arrived and my first impression is that it has a very striking visual presence---it really stands out even among the big Nanmu dinosaurs.

I put it under a full LED lamp exposure and it looks more grey than green to me......it's paint scheme is a big improvement over my HLG Alamosaurus blue paint scheme which I was disappointed in.

I was worried about finding space for it, but fortunately I moved the Titanic Gorgo and replaced it with the Argentinosaurus. The problem I have now is where to store the huge, malodorous box.

TURKEYSAURUS:

Unfortunately, my camera is awful and only produces very blurred images.

I put the Nanmu Dr. Alan Grant figure next to the Argentinosaurus which emphasizes how huge the Argentinosaurus was in real life.

Also, several of the spine spikes had tips where the paint was scratched off or unpainted, so I corrected them with a colored pencil.

Paleo Flo

Yesterday my brown Utahceratps arrived. I'm very pleased with this and it is bigger than I expected.
But I guess it's righ for 1:35.
I was especially surprised how it dwarfs the HLG Chasmosaurus.

I noted both of these observations too, avatar_Paleo Flo @Paleo Flo,  and see that size-wise it is quite comparable to their earlier Pachyrhinosaurus -

Paleo Flo

Ah Kiwi-Pachyrhino...I missed it when it came out back then. But this is, if I remember it right, not in 1:35...

Now I'm waiting for the HLG Kosmo and Majunga and the PNSO Loki.

Maybe I'll get the HLG blue Triceratops and the Xeno.

The Pachy comes in a nominal scale of 1/35, as opposed to their much larger 1/20 scale one (resin?). How true it is to the 1/35, I wouldn't wager my life on that.

Turkeysaurus

Pachy model is considered 1/25-1/28 for 5 meter animal in dinotoyblog review.
