After drooling over David Silva's dinosaur line for weeks, I needed a super poseable dinosaur fix, so I went ahead and bought myself this classic dino toy line:

Excellent figures! Not correct or anything, but definitely among the finest true action dinosaur figures. Great sculpts, great paint jobs, some interesting species (more so back in 1997): what's not to love for a dinosaur aficionado? Too bad the second series never materialized, I would have loved to have seen the Lambeosaurus or Kentrosaurus mentioned on the back of these boxes.

THERE WAS A SECOND SEREIS?

May we see photos of the back of the box??

No pics, alas. It just says: 'Look for these Carnage figures in 1998: Allosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Lambeosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Ankylosaurus and Edmontia'. The last of course should be Edmontonia. I fear anybody looking for these in 1998 found themselves disappointed. Too bad, these would have been great, judging from the first series!

Also, what line of dinosaur action figures would have included so many herbivores? Herbivores would outnumber the carnivores almost 2 to 1! Well, with the existing figures it's 50-50, also fair. :)

No worrys about the lack of pics. i was just curious as to what species were planned. of all those, the Lambeosaurus and Edmontonia would have me searching Ebay

Blade-of-the-Moon

I used to have pics of the Allosaurus and the Ankylosaurus, they were shown at Toyfair, the Allosaurus was awesome, red, white and black colored, about 2' feet long?

I always found it amusing that Resaurus chose to go with Protoceratops. Nice to see the hornless one get some love.

The original versions of these figures are the six resaurus ones. T-rex, Giganotosaurus, stegosaurus, triceratops, velociraptor & styracosaurus. They are marked Carnage Action Figures 1997 Resaurus Company on their tails and they have solid rubber bases. The later ones that dont say carnage are the toyway/toysmith versions and have hollow bases. Toyway did some reworking and created the protoceratops and deinonychus off the pre-existong raptor and trike molds for the bodies. The later releases say made in china on the tail, and the later and later releases the quality began to decline. Yours are all when they were still really good, but there are noticeable quality differences between the originals and the recasts both in paint, molding and the joint strength and fit.

And that is a rediculously insane good price you got on them!! INSANE GOOD!
do you have any info about the non articulated version (without joint articulation) solid rubber versions? i have the Deinonychus.

or is this a remold?
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

The DTB needs more reviews of these toys. At present, there's only the Styracosaurus and the Giganotosaurus.

Used to? Too bad, I would have loved to have seen them! It's real sad to know these models will never be revealed. It's kinda like the JP 2011 debacle all over again, except a good decade earlier. :-/

I believe that the solid versions are made by toysmith and were sold atthe very end of the line. Ive seen a t rex likethat too. Id have to dig some more and do the research to confirm this, but you havethe box. Whats it say on there? Any manufacturer info?
I'm seeking Orsenigo and other interesting vintage dinosaurs. Contact me if you can help with my search!

They all say 'Toyway', though the ones listed as 'action figure dinosaurs' rather than 'Carnage' make mention of a Golden Fortune Company International.

The dinosaur fun continued today:

My first GeoWorld figures. I like the Jurassic Hunters despite their inaccuracies, but the Jurassic Action Baryonyx just isn't very good by comparison.

Papo's kickass Kaprosuchus. One of Papo's finest!

He likes me as much as I like him. Or her, I don't know.

Silvanusaurus

It's been quite a while since I got these, but they were my last significant acquisition:

A bundle of Bullylands!
And a Schleich Desmatosuchus.

Particular highlights, all in excellent condition:

Lovely, lovely Edaphosaurus from a fellow forum member:

It appears to be more of a 'was' offering...

Roselaar

Excellent lot! Bullyland Edaphosaurus is still on my wish list, getting ever higher there...

Jetoar

Hi friends. I show my last acquisitions  ^-^.

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

But where is Skywarp xD?

AcroSauroTaurus

Wow Jetoar, thats an awesome bunch of figures!

Well, I went to Target a couple days ago to see if they had any of the new hybrid dinosaurs, all they had was the hybrid raptor. However I noticed that the Lego sets were back on the shelves again, so natually I had to get at least one: "Raptor Rampage"

The Squad is almost back together, I just need Barry, Echo, and Charlie.
I am the Dinosaur King!

Well, those figures are from the 90s.

Very nice finds CityRaptor, I'd like the address of that thrift store :D
Thanks. I think I bleed it dry, safe for a Ü-Ei Dimetrodon, which was in a bag with zoo animals ( all mammals. Well atleast phylogenetics are right in that case. )

That Plesiosaurus seems to be a quite rare find. I owned one long years ago and when I lost it I never saw one again until I started hunting dinosaur figures via ebay and the likes.
There is barely info about these guys. Probably because Bullyland is always overshadowed by Schleich...

Just found one within an overpriced lot of worthless stuff, though there seem to be several knock offs in other colors.
Ah, good old overpriced lots of worthless stuff.

Anyways, my newest hauls:

Tiny Perfect Dinosaur Tyrannosaurus - as you can see it was incomplete, despite the seller claiming otherwise. As they did not react, I left them negative feedback.
Wild Safari Allosaurus Baby
Dinosaur Revolution

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
