Pachyrhinosaurus

Congratulations on the new addition to your family!  ^-^

Here's my latest haul:

The Marx are my first. I couldn't seem to find any Marx figures on the blog; I'll see about changing that.

And then this Bison occidentalis vert from Kansas, joined by the Papo bison I found today at a local shop:

I recently had my very first professional paint jobs done by Martin Garratt and here they are.

First up is Sphenacodon ferox by Galileo Hernandez ( had the kit sitting around for quite a while). It is about 1/7 scale

The coloration is based on the Pilbara Rock Monitor.

Next up is the small Drepanosaurus unguicaudatus (aka "monkey lizard") by Hirokazu Tokugawa. About 1/5 scale. The first picture is the "before". Martin added the base, tree, and additional leaves.

Drepanosaurs are probably Protorosaurs (same group as Tanystropheus, and part of Archosauromorpha) and really weird. They have a strong, prehensile tail that ends in a claw, giant thumb claws (not really large enough on the model), small bird-like heads, and a humped back. Drepanosaurus dates to the late Triassic and has been found in Italy and New Mexico.

Hello all, nice hauls all round, figured I'd add to the thread since I've acquired a few new pieces recently.First, is just a ton of new Kenner JP stuff.

I got Dr. Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcom, Tim Murphy with those expensive goggles, and of course, dos Dennis Nedrys, neither look anything like Wayne Knight. I "new" Velociraptor to replace my sticky childhood figure, as well as a new Pteranodon, because my old figure was missing a wing.

Quick question: Are the two Explorers variants? Im guessing, either that, or I just got one that wasn't painted very well.

Also finished off the 3 original medium sized figures complete with there skin covers, which were pains to find.

Finally, for JP, I picked these figures. A series 2 Utahraptor, which of course, is huge. A replacement dimetrodon, due to my original sticky leg joints and jaw, a Pachycephalosaurus that's mostly complete sans that miniscule leg capture gear, a Bush Devil Tracker in desperate need of some replacement stickers, and two Lycaenops.

I also found this really retro style dino eraser at Five Below for $1 and thought it was pretty charming.

It gives me a real Don Bluth vibe, if you know what I mean.

Wonderful acqs, all! That Sphenacodon looks phenomenal.

I got my Safari haul. First up is the new Tyrannosaurus.  I'm just blown away with this one. I can't stop looking at the back of the mouth.  I just love the details of it. I will have to fix the legs.

Here it is with my other Safari Ltd Tyrannosaurs.  Please make an Albertosaurus to go with them Doug Watson.  Or a Gorgosaurus. Or better yet Daspletosaurus.

Here the Einiosaurus.  I love this one too. I going to try and get the Collecta one to go with this. I always wanted to have a figure of Einiosaurus after seeing one on Dinosaur Planet.

The Coelophysis. I love the colors. We need more  Triassic Dinosaurs.  I hope Safari get a Plateosaurus soon.

And finally the  Deinocheirus.  It is a very lovely figure. I happy to have it. When I saw it I knew I had to get it.

I am planning on getting some more from Safari, but not right now. I have to save up.  I still have stuff coming from Asia too, but they are not here yet.

Nice haul! Also thanks for the size comparisons  :)

@Mononykus: those paint jobs look amazing!

Yes, that's why I had Martin Garratt paint them. My own attempts at painting are not nearly as good!

Both have turned out beautifully.  I'm especially amazed at the difference Martin made to the Drepanosaurus.  But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, knowing his work!

A few more newbies:

Invicta Iguanodon, original color

That and my new black one from Spain rounds out my collection of Iguanodons of this sculpt a little. Some are marked Invicta, others Larami, others are unmarked. Many different methods of casting too - 3 part, 4 part, etc.

Some cheap Chinasaurs. Many are mislabeled or misspelled.

The only real stunner of the lot is the Chasmosaurus. For sale if interested (as are the others).

Some random dinos picked up from a discount store going out of business. You'll recognize most of them. The Tootsie Toy T-rex is going on eBay - the only TT dino selling right now.

Chap Mei Diatryma, complete with toothy beak.

Schleich Stego

The detail on the plates is pretty cool. This guy's destined for a repaint, courtesy of yours truly.

The dynamic duo

Some very weird mutant dinos from Spain. One appears to be an Stegosaurus/Glyptodon/Ceratosaurus/Dimetrodon.

Another Spanish oddball, a woolly mammoth skeleton transforming egg.

Often why I buy lots of silly things: prehistoric marines!

A green Pteranodon string figure with leather wings. Reminded me of Marvel's Sauron.

I also collect coloring books but don't usually post them due to my impression that they wouldn't be as interesting to collectors here. I'm posting this one as there are a few other prehistoric fish nerds on here.

Each page has some good info, and the species diversity is pretty impressive. There are three species of acanthodians alone. This Osteolepis illustration is my favorite.

The artwork in this book is pretty good for being directed at kids.

And some new fossils, starting with ye olde Trilobite

A mosasaur tooth from Morocco

A misspelled Siroccopteryx tooth from the Kem-Kem basin in Morocco. While I don't usually think of teeth when I think of pterosaurs, this guy was closely related to more familiar flyers like Tropeognathus, Anhanguera, and Ornithocheirus.

And I don't know if anyone else sees this, but some of my pictures appear to be horizontally stretched somehow. They aren't like that in my Photo Gallery or on Postimage. And one appears flipped vertical on a mobile but not on a desktop. Weird.

Lovely catches, BK! Cropped imagery notwithstanding. :)

My Favorite Co Allosaurus. Wow! This figure is amazing. The teeth are all painted. Sadly it can't stand without the base.  At least the base looks nice.

I also got the Plesiosaurus too from the same company. If more flying and marine prehistoric animals came with a stand like this I would get more of them. I'm not really a fan of beach animals.  Lol

I also got the Carnegie Dimetrodon. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get one. It is amazing. Dimetrodon is my favorite Paleozoic animal. Now I need to find a Edaphosaurus to go with it. Maybe someday a company will make a new one. Or I'll have to hunt down the Bullyland one.

Jose S.M.

Everyone has been getting awesome hauls lately!

AcroSauroTaurus

Got these guys. I've thought about getting the Chap Mei Liopleurodon for a while, and I finally decided to get it.(came with a human and a jet-ski trapper-thing, I only got the set for the equipment and the Liopleurodon.) Picked up a couple Schleich's as well.
I am the Dinosaur King!

@BlueKrono: Where'd you find that coloring book? I'm not seeing it on Amazon.
