Alright, the head has been changed and it looks even more badass than before. :D (Yes, I'm done admiring myself...) Also, I simply love the scientific name of these badboys.

Concavenator

Oh,please do a Saurophaganax and I'll get it yes or yes.

Some more work on the head. Just five minutes in and I'm already too tired to continue... what a day.

Alright, I just got around to finishing this piece, I hope you like it. I took the advice and made the snout of the chicks longer.

Here's a quick concept I just came up with. I've always liked raptors, but right now I'm on a real trip, due to the life-sized Velociraptor mongoliensis-model I intend to make (or start, at least) some time soon. As for the image: A small pack of V. mongoliensis enjoying a rare stream of water while watching a group of Protoceratops in the background.

Thoughts on this? I'm not quite sure if I'll be working on it to a more finished state, but I have a few workflow-steps in mind.

Yutyrannus

That's great! I really hope you finish it, that would look awesome :)! Also, if you do finish it, remember that Velociraptor was nocturnal.

Nocturnal? Now that's something new (for me, at least), do you have some sources for me?

Yeah, I didn't find out about that study until recently. Apparently someone did studies on the scleral rings of different Mesozoic creatures. The only ones I know that they studied are Velociraptor, Rhamphorhynchus (nocturnal), and Psittacosaurus (cathemeral). Although, if by sources you mean the actual paper then no, I don't. Balaur might however, I'm not sure.

EDIT: I checked again, apparently Protoceratops is cathemeral too.

EDIT: Here is the paper:

Thanks a lot! Quite interesting stuff.

I'm not sure if it's a definitive study, but we based our Velociraptor Enclosure exhibit on it as well. It's dark inside with low lighting and we say it's due to us thinking they are nocturnal hunters. Works well for having a thrilling exhibit.
